Life is about the journey, not the destination. Nothing sums that up better than the KLR. It's a special bike that nobody really understands until they ride it. And even then there's still a lot of people that just aren't ready to learn the lesson it teaches. Which is fine, everyone has their own style and preferences. But once you get it, you GET it. And from the joy in your voice during that first ride, you definitely get it haha. Welcome aboard brother, gave you a sub.
Okay dude, you got me convinced. I am going to pick up a mint 01 in a few days!! I also own a 2024 S1000RR. So this will be my daily. Aside from the cosmetics, what did you need to fix up?
I got a Vulcan 900 partly because my wife quit riding on the back of my sports and naked bikes and partly because I want to keep my license. Remember the ads “This isn’t your father’s Oldsmobile”? Well the Vulcan 900 is DEFINITELY your Dad’s motorcycle. Or your grandfather’s. Literally. After almost 20 years with no changes the Vulcan is from a previous generation. It isn’t great in any way, but it isn’t bad in any way either. And most importantly my wife loves riding with me again. I can’t imagine a Harley rider wanting one, but for those of us who just want to ride it’s a perfectly ok bike. One that is fun and comfortable to ride, can be dirt cheap to buy and operate, and is reliable to ride across the USA without anything breaking.
The powerband kicks in at 6000 rpm, that's why you feel that kick. You'd be better off with a touring screen, which will take all the wind off of you and make doing heavy speeds with ease. Look after her and she'll do well over 250k miles. The gen 1, which you've got the last of, the same as mine ;), is the best version. The best bit, I found, after coming from the 600 version is the bottom weight, it makes the bike glue to the road more, I found, being 90kgs, that the 600 (gen 1)'s tail used to drift a bit so I moved up a weight and didn't regret it one bit, beautiful bikes that I'll never EVER sell, it's a diamond in the rough, seriously, enjoy ;)
Why, yes we do!. 😎👍
Dude, great vids .👍 But, that exhaust needs something....The bike looks great, but doesn't sound it...just sayin'!
You mentioned a VFR. I had a VFR 750, pre vtec VFR 800, and an 1100 Goldwing Interstate. The first gen FZ1 pulls so much differently. You can tamely run around town, then later dislocate your shoulders. It's a fine bike and my first inline four.
Sold my gixxer for this cruiser :D
This is what you get when you get off a harley and find out how slow they are .
Is this Chow'ver or Showver? lol Thanks for your 2 videos, "Cruiser Boy!" You said it. Can you give an update on how your Kawasaki Vulcan 900 is running currently? I was encouraged by your 2 videos and might just get Kawasaki Vulcan 900.
Your excitement is the best part of the video. Thanks for doing this, just got an sweet fz1 and I’m loving it!
Love the enthusiasm in this honest review video I enjoyed the whole thing I currently ride a Honda Goldwing usually with the Mrs on board it lately I’ve wanted a solo seat bike to do exactly what I just watched on your channel My son has a street glide special and I really don’t see how spending 35k on a motorcycle that won’t make any happier than you just were I’m going to have to test drive one Just help me out here I’m 6’3 300 lbs will I fit on this bike.??
Can you imagine having the FZ1 as a first bike and then jumping to the VMAX. And now to the FJR. Yamaha wonder trio. SICK BIKES
Can you please tell me how did you install Tachometer?
it came on the bike when I bought it. I assume the previous owner put it on.
Your enthusiasm is contagious. :)
For the money you cant beat the vulcans ..the tranny is clunky but it's solid if that makes sense ...honarable mention the suzuki blvd 800 is a nice bike also...the C/50 they call it ..
02 fzs1000 owner...gen one. Best bike ever. Im still like this on it.
Great machine I have a 2010 900 classic.... absolutely joy to ride... she will cruise at 75 all day never miss a beat..
I just purchased my second Vulcan Classic LT. I had to sell my first Vulcan because the wife got too scared after a few close calls to ride anymore, so I sold it. I really missed riding my bike so when we parted ways, I decided to get a Vulcan as close to my first one as I could find. I searched for one just like my first 900 and found exactly what I was looking for. Same year and same color as my first 2009, and with only 5,500 miles. Damn, it's good to be riding again!
Is that the OEM tachometer you got on your handlebars? 😮
FOOTPEGS SHOULD NOT BE SCRAPING.
How is in the corners compared to 600cc?
open it to the red line, the higher up the rpm the faster it goes you were changing gear at about 9k. owned mine since 2007 it keeps up with all modern bikes with the work i have done to it
What had he ridden before this - maybe 110 cc scooter ?? Rode just one of my these in city streets few years ago ; not a long ride and never got it on the open road . However , after owning a 98 yr R1, the FZ felt much softer , mellower and of coarse comfortable But a lot less of the sheer thrill I got from my R10
Dude I got a Yamaha Vstar and it looks so similar
How is the power for 2-up?
Joey - Glad you like it, I LOVE my 2012 midnight blue Vulcan LT. ive owned 5 bikes even a Heritage HD - that the Vulcan LT is designed after. compared? less maintenance, water cooled, belt driven, BETTER than HD-Owned the Vulcan 3 years now and MY FAVORITE! I tricked mine out with 3 headlights, highway bar and pegs, - the LT has heal/toe shifter - windshield. louder horn 130db, mustang seat with driver back-rest, loud cobra pipes, 2 inch risers that bring the steering closer so I can "kick back" and CRUISE! - and they go over 100k miles! - YEAH I wish it was an 1100cc, but would get heavier. So take care, God bless and keep the rubber on the road while your enjoying your - Cruising Therapy!
Of course it's great, it's designed for riding on roads not race tracks. And it's a Kwaka!
Most entertaining first reaction video ive ever seen. Epic bro! Now i really REALLY want one.
Guess I'll have to stick to a bicycle
Does this still have the air lines/emission stuff on it?
I felt the same way when I bought mine and I still do.
My 04 has 100,000 miles. It will do 120 mph. wheelies in second gear. Bulletproof reliability.
A minha Vulcan chega no próximo dia 2 de setembro...
Yeah I just had it tuned earlier today and doesn’t do it much on idle but still at highway speed alittle but no big deal
I have a 06 Vulcan 900 classic lt and is a grate bike smooth easy ride after you get used to the ticking noice from the hydraulic valves but grate bike ride mine everyday honestly more then I ride my 2019 road king
Scotty Kilmer under that helmet?
Just picked one up to bob, my expectations are not high, but you have raised them none the less.
Mid-range on these is🦾. No need to downshift at highway speeds.
My dealer had this same motorcycle. But my question to kawasaki is why not make this with a at least 1500cc or even a 1700cc then I would buy it but just 900cc don't make sense.
💪🙂👍
I bought an 2009 vulcan 900 this spring because my 02 harley roadking has 50,000 on it. I haven't rode the harley all year because i'm enjoying the Kaw so much.
I bought mine last week ans i had the same reaction! Its fast !! Really fast!!!! Gotta be carefull with the throttle! Rocket bike
I bought a used 1500 vulcan it has plenty of power. Why cant kawasaki put at least a 1500cc engine in these bikes. I dont desire to go a 100 miles an hour but want a new bike with alot of power. Just 900cc come on kawasaki my dealer has the 900cc right now. But dont even have a 1700 vulcan voyager and told me they are hard to get one.
The best bike ! V4 power !
Owned 2 of these and made the mistake of getting the Gen2 version. Bad choice. The carburated version Gen1 is the best and a steal at the prices
Like 1/2 the price of a similar R1, yeah.
Enthusiasm made me subscribe !!
A grown man giggling :) perfect bike !!
Cool coastal ride.
I've got the 600 version. FZS600 Fazer. Best bike I've had!
