that minolta Is actually a leica it's called the leica cl but the minolta one is more desired because of the improvement to the viewfinder and non mechanical functions!
wahh mantap ni
Sweet❤❤❤
Nice buy. Great camera.
did you by chance see any leica minilux ?
what i dont understand, why are the old analog cameras so expensive? I understand that the lenses are expensive but the cameras too? and i dont want to think of the price of the analog film... 🙈 and btw great content. i like your kind of humor :)
😂 I love you commentary on these shops. So much more entertaining than the usual Japan thrift videos I’ve been watching
Great pick up. I have the same camera and lens. I wanted to take the Canon 7 and 50mm 1.4 with me when I went to Japan in March, but that camera is SO HEAVY. It takes excellent photos, but I knew my neck would be sore after a few hours. Instead I brought a smaller and lighter Olympus OM2n with me. The Canon 7 is really a fantastic rangefinder, just heavy and ugly. By the way, I also purchased some cameras and lenses at a couple Kitamura stores. They have great selection and prices. Some shops in Shinjuku were WAY overpriced.
The value of the Yen relative to the dollar is in the toilet...should be a steep discount provided you pay with a credit card in your home currency.
I strongly assume that Shinjuku Kitamura Camera is the most elaborate camera shop in the world.
Love the energy man. Keep up the cool videos ❤
Awesome video! If I were to travel to Japan I wouldn't be able to contain myself from buying everything from the junk section
"No one is commenting anyway". You give the paper and receive the strings. But why? WHY?
You take the paper to the counter and they give you the strings. lol.
Let’s thrift is the best thrift!
This video should be called. Join me while I complain about everything being very expensive, when they are not that expensive lol But on the serious note, I do wish I stocked up on all these lenses and cameras 12 years ago when I used to go to hard off or book off and I could get some nice lenses for 500 yen because they were all in the junk area. I still have some now which are worth 10 times the price of what I paid. I went recently to a hard off to find a canon FD 1.8 50mm going 7,000 yen, I remember getting my copy for 200 yen. I guess the influencers are making these old vintage cameras and lens is more expensive.. what can you do?🤷🏽
Great video. By the way, is Pentax a sturdy camera or a bit fragile ?
The Meguro Melcon II rangefinder at 18:40 is MEGA Rare - super cool Nikon S2 copy but with LTM
Beautiful 🤩
Great shots!
videos like this make me want to try harder so i can go to japan
What is the shop name and address?
Quick question: can you test cameras in a thrift store if you bring batteries with you?
Visited Lemon camera a week ago and it is a real Aladdin’s cave for film camera enthusiasts. I was looking for a Nikon F3T and found an absolutely MINT example at Katsumido, near Higashi Ginza station and definitely worth a visit.
I like this series.
Your voice sounds familiar…. A Do you have a road bike and like climbing by any chance?
I want to join you for the hunt for Leica too next month LOL
I know you're avoiding the SLRs, but you really should try the Canon F-1 and Nikon F, very solid cameras! Great video! Thanks for taking us through those locations!
Right now searching for an Olympus 35 in Tokyo...😂
Your video is making me dizzy
If this will be your first rangefinder I would suggest that you consider one of the fixed-lens options like a Canon Canonet (such as the G-III QL17) or one of the Olympus 35 models for example (35RC, 35SP, etc.) to determine if you enjoy using a rangefinder (there are plenty of people who do not). Many of these cameras came with fairly fast lenses in the 38mm - 42mm focal length range while selling for less money than the interchangeable lens cameras. A fixed lens might seem like too much of a constraint, but in the 24 years that I’ve owned my M6 I’ve likely had the 35mm lens mounted more than 90% of the time. As far as small SLR film cameras go, I would suggest something like the Olympus OM-1 or the Pentax MX. Both of these cameras are all-mechanical (less to go wrong, easier to find someone to repair if needed). In both of these cameras batteries are only required for the built-in light meters. The nice thing about the Olympus OM system is that the small design strategy carried over into the Zuiko lenses. They might not be as small as the lenses for a 35mm rangefinder, but they are fairly small by 35mm SLR standards. One thing to be aware of regarding the OM-1 is that the meter was designed to use a 1.35V mercury call battery (which are no longer made). But there are multiple workarounds for this - Wein cells, 1.5V to 1.35V adaptors, or a small modification to the camera so that it will meter properly with a modern 1.5V battery. This might be true for some of the Olympus 35 rangefinder fixed-lens rangefinders as well. Just some food for thought. It appears that you have access to many great used camera stores there where you are at. Enjoy the search and good luck!
Almost buying stuff...The video
That Pentax Super A that you found at 2nd base is a better version of me super. It's one of the top 3 35mm film pentax slr for me with 1 being LX and 2 being the KX
this was such a great video lmao. instantly earned a sub
This was so satisfying lol had to sub! Excited to see more content.
Which store would have the best price for Apple iPhone? Great video!
I have a number of rangefinders, one is the Aeries Viscount. Nice seiko shutter and the Coral lens not bad.
This is not 'thrifting'! Thrifting is going to thrift stores looking for stuff. You are going to second hand camera shops.
you should buy the minolta
“To Expenive” 😂
Everything was too "expensive". Dudes gonna end up with nothing at this rate.
i consider myself a middle class with a regular attainable field job but you kept saying "too expensive" for things that i would consider a board line steal for that low asking price , looks like i know where should i be traveling to next .
These shops look like a dream to me! I don’t have anything that’s even close to the amount of stuff around here! Just looking around is fun!
Very annoying!!
Your obsession with Leica at thrift stores is borderline psychotic. Great stuff!
