Cerro Chaltén, Winter Solo Ascent, via the Supercanaleta (Sept 2022)
This video consists of some rudimentary footage (shot on my phone) taken in September 2022, during a winter climbing trip to El Chaltén, Argentina. I managed to complete my goal during the trip, of making a winter, solo ascent of Cerro Chaltén, by the Supercanaleta route. The footage was shot by myself, but this video was edited by the folks at Patagonia, and appeared first on their channel.

Warning: contains profanity. Footage from Aug-Sept 2023, attempting a solo, winter ascent of Cerro Torre. All footage by Colin Haley, except the aerial footage at the very beginning and end, which is by Ty Lekki. Edited by Colin Haley. Cassin Ridge Speed Record (June 2018)
มุมมอง 50K5 ปีที่แล้ว
WARNING: PROFANITY! A lame excuse for an actual video, but a collection of clips from a trip to Denali in 2018, that culminated in my case with a solo speed ascent of the Cassin Ridge on June 5, 2018 (8 hours and 7 minutes from bergschrund to summit). In addition to my own footage, there is one clip by Priti Wright, and one clip by Felipe Bishara.
Infinite Spur Laps (May 2016)
มุมมอง 28K7 ปีที่แล้ว
This is a collection of a few video clips, shot during a trip to the Kahiltna Glacier (Central Alaska Range) in May 2016. It includes some clips from acclimatizing on Denali, acclimatizing further on Mt. Crosson, climbing the Infinite Spur on May 27 with Rob Smith, climbing the Infinite Spur solo on June 1, and getting caught in a storm while descending the Sultana Ridge solo. It will probably ...

An absolutely breathtaking and deeply inspiring piece of alpine videography. I loved how real and authentic you were, it was very validating to see even an alpine athlete of your caliber having to work through some of those moments. very educational too watching you put all those skills together. kudos on a truly amazing video!

I went to El Chalten in the summer a few years ago and spent some time hiking in that area. The views of Fitzroy, Poincenot and Cerro Torre are simply spectacular and I could only look in awe at a mountain that just looks impossible to climb. This was a brilliant vlog and you’ve gained a new subscriber.

You should seriously write a book about your techniques. Your rope soloing is beautiful and it would be a great resource to be publicly available. Great work!

Man this is some real deal no bs climbing footage. Some of the best Ive seen in a long while. Love the effort you put into stitching this video together. Also, it never ceases to amaze me just HOW MUCH skill and work is involved in solo climbing. Inspirational. I have for some time, and I'm happy that I'll continue to look up to your decision making in the mountains. Cheers Colin!
