Irish score 17 points in 54 seconds to pull away from Bulldogs.
Georgia and Notre Dame made it to the Sugar Bowl on the strength of their defenses, and both defenses were the dominant units on the field in New Orleans.
Georgia held the Notre Dame offense to 16 points. Notre Dame held Georgia to 10 points. Both defenses showed up big time.
Gunner Stockton made his first college start at QB for Georgia and he looked really good passing for 234 yards, 1 TD no INTs.
The Bulldogs held the Irish to 244 total yards and only 90 through the air.
The difference was a brutal turnover in the final seconds of the first half that lead to a quick TD for the Irish, followed by a 90+ yard kick return for a TD that broke the Bulldogs back and put the game out of reach.

Ohio State dominates Rose Bowl.

Ohio State dominated the Ducks from the opening kickoff. This is a statement win, and the Buckeyes look like the best team in the country. Jeremiah Smith was unstoppable, as was the rest of the Ohio State team. The Buckeyes defense was completely overwhelming sacking Gabriel 8 times and leaving no doubt they have what it takes to win it all. If the Buckeyes show up like this against Texas they ...

Texas wins an instant classic in the best game of the new 12 team college football playoff. Cam Skattebo was the best player on the field for either team amassing almost 300 yards of total offense. But the historic effort wasn't quite enough to overcome the Longhorns. Sam Levitt had a gritty performance with some key scrambles to bring the Sun Devils back and tie the game in the fourth quarter ...

Illinois and South Carolina produced one of the most entertaining bowl games of the season thanks in part to the antics of Bret Bielema. Both teams played hard on defense and brought serious intensity. Michigan and Alabama played another hard hitting defensive game. Penn State leaded from wire to wire and took care of business in the Fiesta Bowl. The Nittany Lions went up 14-0 in the first quarter in what felt like the beginnings of a run away blow out. Boise State managed to weather the early storm and answer with a critical touchdown, but never managed to get any closer. Penn States' defense kept Ashton Jeanty in check all game, while they piled up 216 y...

The best part of this bracket, is Ohio State has been repeatedly (and incorrectly) been labled as the most expensive roster. When in fact, it is Oregon and Texas. So if OSU pulls this off Friday, they will have done "more with less" compared to them.
Most expensive roster? I say if you got it, spend it. The only thing that would have made this game better was for OSU to take a twelve man penalty at the end😮
It would be Texas ND OSU for me
Money didnt buy this roster. The players on the roster already got payed. Big difference
Michigan probably cheated. The track record is there
What really gets under my skin is two dumb asses like the two of you acting like they're NFL GMs and want to change the rules of the NFL and how early a player can declare because the two stupid idiots ie you two can't stand Ohio State having a dominant player, but when the said dominant players are with Georgia or Bama or Clemson none of you stupid idiots have anything smart to say and for some reason to them that is not absurd what's absurd according to the two dumb asses that's you two is Jeremiah Smith playing for Ohio State for a couple more years to you two '...that's absurd '....?????
To be honest, the "I" took the show
Simple Kelly likes to run after michigan lose hexflipped itcpass set-up run
Might have missed the biggest 34-0, I mean who does that to start a game? Who was the last game that happened to the ducks? When has this ever happened to a top ranked team?
Felt like OSU could have scored as many points and they wanted
@@SaturdayvsSunday I did feel they could have embarrassed Oregon in a way that would have been unforgivable.
@@horseshoed5221 I think that is why he stepped off the gas a bit. he made his point and felt like he went mercy rules after that
"most expensive roster" except it's not because both oregon and texas spent more. knock it off with that narrative.
How does Ohio State get the reputation for having the most expensive roster when they are third on the list....?
Because of all the pre-season attention their spending received.
1. Rocky STOP. 2. Roast Duck. 3. BEVO Burgers. GO BUCKEYES!
I want an OSU vs PENN natty. Lets put the final nail in the coffin of the SEC bias.
If Notre Dame’s run game produced all year like it did against the SEC champs I would be worried. RJ Oben the guy that caused the fumble is third string. 6 third string players played a role in that W against the SEC Champs. I hope Penn State thinks like you guys.
I wonder if the longer playoff is gonna lead to more and more teams with significant injuries at this point of the season, similar to the NFL. If that becomes a regular thing, team depth is going to be even more important.
Please stop talking about our NIL money when there are teams that we beat that have more NIL money than us. Oregon $23 million
"The most expensive roster that money can buy" This is a blatant lie! Go and look for yourselves people it was Oregon that spent the most at 23 Million followed by Texas and then Ohio State! We are the 3rd most expensive roster and frankly I'm so tired of hearing this crap about buying the roster, most of our guys were already there they just started getting paid! We have 1 new player on defense and that's Caleb Downs everyone else was already here! On offense we added QB Will Howard and RB Quinshon Judkins as starters, The rest surprise surprise were already here! Stop lying to people about Ohio State buying a roster because Oregon actually did buy a roster and our depth and experience of being at the same school with the same coaches put our guys head and shoulders over Oregon!
And nobody is taking about it
Ohio against the world
Yup i comment this same comment everywhere and I never get an answere! Everyone knows they just refuse to admitt it. They want the talking point they are willfully ignorant. Just like dems when it comes to trump willfully ignorant because they need something to be angry at
Oregon spent more on their roster. Period.
Are they still talking about that? Geez!

I just learned how the Fighting Irish got their name, and now they're even cooler
Cam vomited a sandwich and powerade. He felt much better afterwards.ASU outplayed Texass.Look at the stats.
Im super curious to see if he can be a legit NFL running back
Nope, oregon didn’t stand a chance
Like the "non pass interference" .. interference .. ? Ya, those are fun
Why is no one talking about the td that Asa offensive line man pink cam up and pulled him into the endzone link to what I am talking about that is illegal. This game them 7 points they shouldn't have even had th-cam.com/users/shortsfITPWsAy9GY?si=YKrwKYwzs5lhnfgH
It is similar to the Bush push so I don't think it is illegal anymore.
@SaturdayvsSunday pushing is allowed but pulling is not
@@SaturdayvsSunday Look it up, it is still illegal, though rarely called. The example in the UT/ASU game was textbook -- the lineman clearly pulled Skattebo into the end zone -- by rule, it should not have been a touchdown. Technically, even pushing the runner is illegal, but that one is never called as the lineman can almost always claim he was just blocking a defensive player.
@@robertquick7838 "It's definitely illegal but rarely called" -- Blows away the targeting is a crappy rule but it's a rule argument.
Every team that had a buy lost. Three weeks is too long for a team to sit around. If you all four games alll four teams started the games sluggish.
ASU getting praise for losing a game and Texas getting hate for winning it. I hate people’s hypocrisy.
Is jst me or is ewers the worst QB left out of the 4 teams left ?
It's just you 😂😂
Yep, it's just you.
I told ya about Skattebo. Dude is a high-speed tank.
I hope he ends up in Dallas
Illinois played dirty and the refs let them. Why isn't it a penalty for an opposing coach to taunt players on the field?? Beliema admitted to trying to substitute to delay the game to see if the refs would allow it. They did and allowed Illinois to win by stretching what is acceptable.
And it sets a terrible example for the players. Like it is OK to face another team/player and do that, which is not good.
Horrible play calling on the TEXAS offense side.
Yeah, if the Longhorns cannot get the run game going and clean up the penalties, they're going to be in big trouble against the Buckeyes.
@@SaturdayvsSunday Totally agree with you sir!
Skatapoop was completely contained by Texas defense for three and half quarters. Made him vomit for god sakes. He only came alive after the defense who stayed out on the field longer than they ever have all year were running on fumes and after they started resting Skatapoop every other play. They had to use trick plays to get back in the game. And to top it off a guard had to lift an exhausted Skatapoop into the end zone on that OT drive. If he can barely hang against Texas do y’all really think he can hang in the NFL? Be real.
The guard literally suplexed him into the end zone!
He won the MVP with a loss, man yall are awful winners. Give the dude his flowers.
Skatt out gained rushing yards 143, by himself vs the whole Texas team, 53 total rushing. And did it against Texas’ vaunted rushing D.
@@SaturdayvsSunday Yep, it was clear and as another has pointed out, by rule that should have been a penalty, not a touchdown.
The final score was shocking
Not targeting- front of helmet on front of helmet. Similar call was not targeting on Az State.
I’ve seen a few other analysts talk about “what is targeting” and it’s a total mess. Seems like nobody can agree on what is or isn’t targeting. Some say it has to be crown of helmet, others say any contact with a “defenseless” players helmet…the refs themselves seem to all interpret it differently. It’s frustrating for everyone watching as it’s a total mystery when it is and isn’t called.
And that orange trash will always get the calls. They always have.
Stop them on 4th and 13 and you still win!
CUDOS TO TEXAS BUT ARIZONA STATE HELD IT DOWN AND GOT THE RESPECT OF ALL COLLEGE FOOTBALL FANS! CAM DESERVES HEISMAN AND DILLINGHAM DESERVES COACH OF THE YEAR!!!! ESPN IS HYPE BIASED!!!

Yeah but that QB was money.
ASU fan here. Great podcast. I hit like and. Subscribed. Tough loss for the Devils.
Hopefully this season brings a new wave of recruits to the Sun Devils. We appreciate you subscribing to the channel! 🙏
You guys did a 22 min video and didn’t mention the missed targeting call on Taaffe. Discredits your whole video. Shame. ASU should have been the team kicking a last second field goal. Given their kicking woes, there’s no guarantee they would have won in regulation. But they’re the team that should have had the chance to win in regulation. Refs blew it.
The missed targeting call was frustrating no doubt. It happens so often there is almost nothing to be said about it at this point other than it is entirely inconsistent. The refs can't seem to agree on what is and isn't targeting.
That bad call (no targeting) should not have been allowed to happen. It absolutely changed the outcome.
I just wish one video would show the more obvious targeting against Isaiah Bond against ASU that wasn’t called and didn’t then you guys would shut up
We did not talk about the other missed targeting call on Bond either, so it all works out.
@@TexasRox You missed the point. The rule is there to protect the players. Inconsistent application of the rule only invites more bad injuries in the future. In this particular case, it most likely affected the outcome of the game.
53 yards rushing to me that seems like Texas had to fight for every yard
The 53 yards comes from bad coaching.
Dude, guy with the Texas shirt on do you realize that we outgained them 510 yd to 320??? It obviously wasn't that hard for us they just had two big plays one on special teams!!! Come on man
Texas had huge plays on defense for turnovers on downs too. All those yards mean nothing if you don't get points. Scoreboard.
@georgemonnatjr.172 agreed! That is what really made the difference. The two stops inside the 5 yard line was a killer. Can't wait to get some receivers for next season.
@marksheehy4933 weird game, I think both fan bases ended up being angry. But ASU showed up and showed the world.
AZ played desperate; going for it on 4th down again and again.
@AliensAnonymous if you watch throughout the year, that is just how Kenny dillingham is. He's a gambler! Go big or go home!!
Nobody's talking about the kickers ??? Terrible 😢
Auburn just doesn't have the composure for big moments, and ASU got blocked, nothing too crazy about either of those
The kickers were terrible. . Not much more to say.
With 5 min left in the game ASU had 442 yds and 25 first downs Texas had 210 yds and 10 first downs
Targeting ASU robbed
Quinn Ewers, calm and collected, made the plays to win.
Scatabo was a mess. Physically and mentally shook. Yelling at his teammates and coaches. And was INDEED stopped on several crucial 3rd and 4th downs. What would the score be had he converted those crucial downs? 🤷🤷🤷 ASU probably wins. The trick plays were cool. His arrow shooting and talking to the camera was interesting. But at the end of the day, he let his team down. Out of shape and failed when it REALLY mattered. GG tho fr
Wow! That is the worst take of the year!! LMAO
I think Stevie wonder watched the game more attentively than you did
Scattabo was clearly sick. Threw up on the sideline. And still accounted for 284 yards of total offense. That’s called grit.
Scatteboo cooked Texas something serious lol. Stop this
Scattebo put more yards on Texas defense than Georgia during sec championship. Cope and seethe hater
Targeting is targeting. The was a text book definition of targeting
Still crying asi got all their first downs and points off penalties ASU fans still crying
I'm a byu alum. You know that team Texas can't hold under 40 points
Hmmmm did the defensive player launch himself? Did the crown of the helmet make contact? Was the offensive player truly defenseless? If I honestly answer no to any of these then NOT textbook. Hence why it was not called when they reviewed it.
Are you talking about the obvious targeting against Isaiah Bond that wasn’t called?
Seriously ???? we owned the second half.
That was one wild game!!! Fun watch
