Great video. Nice to see what other comics collectors are doing and reading. 👍
@@TBComix thanks, and I agree! I love talking to other collectors to see what they’re into. Thanks for watching and commenting! 👍
@comicbookrevival My pleasure. I'm more new school comics and quite new to the hobby compared to people like yourself. Love the way you mount & display your comics. Great to see you're reading Epitaphs from the abyss. Loving that whole new EC run.
As someone who isn't particularly into comic books, I just wanted to express my appreciation for the video. I often love seeing others talking about and displaying things that they love, regardless of what it is. I hope you have many more years of collecting and joy from the hobby!
@@mycubiclepenguin868 thank you! 👍

Mark, a friend recently acquired Amazing Spiderman #667 Dell'Otto variant 9.6...for ~$12k ($14.4k with auction premium). Another one acquired a Malibu Sun #13, signed by Todd McFarlane 9.2 for about $5,500... Do you think those were good buys?
The Amazing Spider-Man 667 Dell'Otto variant is a hard comic to come by. It was a 1:100 incentive variant, meaning not many retailers would have ordered it when it was released in 2011. So between increased demand and it having had a low print run, this comic will likely hold its value. A 9.2 grade sold for $10,600 on eBay in 2023, so this suggests that your friend's purchase may have been a good deal, although there are many factors that can affect value. For the Malibu Sun #13 signed by Todd McFarlane in a 9.2 grade, recent sales data is limited. However, a signed 9.4 grade copy sold on eBay for $2,163 CAD a little over a month ago. Keep in mind, this is one isolated sale and it doesn’t necessarily reflect the true value of this comic. There are many variables. When did your friend buy this comic? Was Spawn’s popularity at a high point? Demand can absolutely drive prices up temporarily. Did he get it signed by McFarlane in person, or did he buy it already signed and graded? Many sellers will use an autograph as leverage to bump their prices up. At the end of the day, if your friend is happy with what they paid, and they love the book, that’s the important thing, Two collectors may value the same item very differently depending on what it is and why it’s important to them. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching and being part of the community!
@comicbookrevival Good Morning Mark! Thanks for the reply and thorough insights! Yep, both were won/bought recently at a Heritage auction (yesterday, in fact 😃)...both are CGC slabbed. The Spawn comic is authenticated in a JSA Autograph Slab.
@ nice! 🙌
Awesome vid Mark! Happ new Year my friend
Thanks for watching! Happy New Year to you too! 🎉
Happy New Year Mark 🎉
Thanks! Happy New Year to you as well! 👍
Merry Christmas to you and your family! Enjoy the holidays 😊
@@tonyspark thanks! Happy Holidays to you and yours also! 🙌
Great content!
@@tonyspark thank you! 👍
Awesome. New sub. I read a bunch of different stuff. Happy holidays. You are awesome
@@comxfan4life36 thank you so much!! Happy Holidays to you as well!
so the batman 1 is a reprint/replica which on the slab would say that, yet from a distance looks real. good for a display piece but that is it. how many collectors would have a real batman 1 in 8.0 or above? just about none except maybe 1-3. I think a 9.0 is the highest for this book with one owner.
@@GeorgeRainey-s4v correct - a high grade original print of Batman 1 would be incredibly difficult to come by, which is why I consider mine as a display piece. It’s not a flex or boast - just a cool comic to own and display and an important piece of comic book history.
Hey friend my TH-camr named Cn Tsukaima gives you a shout out from his Toy Hunt

Merry Christmas and Happy New year my favorite comic Christmas story Batman and Santa Claus silent Knight the first one.
I’ll have to check that one out! Merry Christmas to you too!
Great advice! 👽👍
Thanks for watching!
I'm really glad to be a first time visitor. I will be checking out so more of your videos today. I just downloaded and printed off a few copies of your grading process and notes. I appreciate the thoroughness of your grading and showing us your detailed process. I like your lists of defects also. I'm always reluctant to page flip comic books unless I'm planning on pressing it after. Do you have any tips for handling the pages of moderns or freshly pressed books without creating light finger bends ? Thank You for making this video. I'm new to collecting and selling Comics about one year. Grading is probably my favorite part as I realize now how crucial these grade points are to the value of a book. I look forward to watching you in the future and thank you for your help.
@@UwantUneedGiftsGoodsandBooks thank you for the kind words! The only advice I can offer when handling comics is to be extremely careful. Turn the pages slowly and deliberately and wear white cotton gloves if you’re concerned about leaving oil stains from your fingers on the page. Be mindful of how gently you handle the comic you’re grading, especially the older ones. Thanks for watching, it’s great to have you on board! 👍
@@comicbookrevival Thank You for the tips. It looks like I'm at least doing one thing right. I always use white cotton gloves now because if i don't there is always some oil even when my hands are dry lol. I walk around my place like Michael Jackson all day One Glove hand to hold the Comic the other non glove hand to clean haha. I learned that one from Bronze and Modern Gods. Just not the dancing like Michael Jackson "Until the fun stops part" Did I say that out loud ? haha. Have a great day

I did buy Klaus, the mini-series when it first arrived, I did enjoy it! I then bought the one shots the years they came out, other than the wordless one, I enjoy reading a story, and wasn't to keen on a calendar, yes the arts nice, but paying nearly a tenner for just as I said a calendar, not for me! It would of been nice to have seen some new ones in the recent years, it amazes me it's been 5 years since the last one, time certainly flies! That omnibus does look nice, I may treat myself, despite my reference to the calendar, lol! Happy Christmas!
The original mini series was amazing! The hardcover is well worth it just for that alone. Merry Christmas to you too! 👍
The segment title is great.
Thank you! 👍
That’s a great title!! As well as comic book revival,, you nailed it on both!!
Thanks! I appreciate that! 😊
Love the segment name! Great books as always my friend.
Thank you! 🙌
Hi and Thanks For Your Advice Because I'm Not Good With Giving Prices Around

facsimiles? ..... I'm out of here
I get it - facsimiles aren’t for everyone. Thanks for stopping by to check out my video, and I appreciate your feedback! 👍
Another great tutorial video. Thanks 😊😊
You’re welcome 😊
I am just getting back into the hobby...thanks so much for this priceless video 😊
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching! 👍
Nice haul! New subscriber to your channel. I feel the same way about the facsimiles; great looking copies of wonderful, important books. What's not to like? Cheers!
Exactly how I feel! The originals are nice, but I’ve never met a facsimile I didn’t love! 👍 Thanks for watching and thanks for the sub! 😁
Thanks for sharing your collection with us.
@JB-ou6fl thank you for watching! 👍
Thank you for the downloads and this fantastic video!
@BBHorology thanks for watching! 👍👍
At a quick glance I determine the book to be a 4.5 maybe a 5.0 depending interior. The pen markings for me personally wouldn’t be a major issue for most Bronze Age and Silver Age books because most shop owners understandably had to make a small mark or write the date on the back cover to keep track when to send books back for credit. I prefer the old school of grading back in the 1970s but I appreciate your extra attentiveness to search for additional flaws.
Great video! Similar stories except I never stopped, it’s definitely cool now and you are right. It was a lonely time back then. I think the reason I stayed with it is I had one friend who collected as well.
Very cool video! Not sure how I missed your channel! We could be neighbours!
@@tensixtythreecomics nice! 👍 and thank you! ✌️
I don't think the pen mark should count against it unless it was otherwise high grade
Thanks for the informative video, been collecting since a kid, and always wanted to make sure i grade my issues fairly.
Thank you, very informative. Enjoying your content and presentation style
@@andrewm4411 thank you! 👍
Super cool! subbed! I have a lot of She Hulk and Hawkeye comics my 2 favorites!
@@Taurus791 Awesome! Same here... Thank you for subscribing! 👍
Great collection and space. I really dig the facsimile editions as well.
@@ginoames thanks! 👍
I like that you collect stuff that means something to you rather than collecting stuff that everyone else collects. Like your Niagara. Falls stuff. That means something to you, not necessarily anyone else.
I agree! And thanks! 👍
Awesome room! Great collection. Thanks for sharing
@@otakutourguide thank you for watching! 👍
I feel the same way about facsimile issues, hulk 181, asm 129, too expensive, and I'd rather buy a whole bunch of other issues with the money.
Loved the tour of you comic room. Very impressive collection I have to say. 😎
@@TGMForum thanks! 🙌
Amazing collection, wish I had the same haha ! Really enjoyed the video !
@@La-Comics-Cave thank you! 👍
I like that you are a well-rounded collector. You don't hate on things like modern comics, omnibus, store exclusives, or variants. Or grading books. Collect what you love.
Loved this tour- that joker piece is amazing! Thank you for sharing this tour with us!! I don't collect comics; I collect signed rock n' roll memorabilia- so I can appreciate the art of collection, display and preservation! 😊
@hernameispiperconnolly thanks Piper! I'd love to see what's in your collection if you'd like to share! ✌️
Wow! All that stuff looks really expensive 😮
Yeah, it's not a cheap hobby for sure! But I'm trying to take my own advice and budget a little better... 🫤
Just found your channel and subscribed! I really like videos about comic books; reviews, pick-ups, hauls, and any discussing about comic book collecting. I didn't realize DSTLRY had hardcovers; I need to check those out and would be easier for me to store and display on a bookshelf. Thanks for the video!
@MoneyballComics thank you!! I appreciate the kind words and sub! 👍 and yes, the DSTLRY hardcovers are amazing! I'll definitely be adding more to my collection! 🙌
That reminds me of Faust

Nicely laid out 1:46 room and a Great collection! The wife gave me some space in the basement so I could display a few grails and other items! My room is smaller than yours from the looks of things but I think it’s laid out well! Every time I enter the room i think of all those glorious stories adorned by some of the greatest cover art that has transcended the ages and I smile! Continued success in your collecting endeavours!
Thanks! Your room sounds awesome! It's nice to have some space for these things, even if it's a small room... enjoy! 👍
