try a 3-in-1 hard start capacitor before you condemn the compressor...
Jd can you assist me with R22 refrigerant cut in 6 degrees cut out 4 degrees the range an differential settings please
I need to know what type of refrigerator this is for? And does the evaporator coil have to defrost all the ice each cycle?
Could you tell me the average PSI when not running and a fridge is set/full? (a range is fine) Otherwise, great video.
On a fridge thats warm the pressure on the gas in the fridge will be exactly the same as the pressure as the gas cylinder outside the fridge. When the fridge starts running the suction pressure goes down & the high side pressure will go up. The longer the fridge runs, the lower the suction pressure gets. The highside pressure will reach maximum pressure shortly after the fridge starts up and as the fridge cools down that pressure will drop slightly. The pressure depends on what type of refrigerant or gas you use.
Hi, a question please They brought me a Pepsi cooler, an HBP 1/3 refrigeration capacity I want to replace it with an LBP freezer motor. What is the appropriate size? Thank you🌷
You will use the same wattage as your previous motor.
@@JDNelRefrigeration Do you mean cooling capacity?
@@user-li4ik9qs8c No, wattage is the power consumption of the motor.
Can I use nitrogen instead 404?
Yes. Put it through a regulator not to exceed 400psi.
Hello, i have a microwave turning on but not heating, already test capacitor, hv diode, hv fuse, door switch all okay and magnetron is not grounded on the tester, i change mica sheet because theres a sign of slight but not really burnt, and remove the magnetron but as i inspected it the cap/antenna is clean theres a sign of usage but not burnt. Do you think i need to replace the antena/cap of the magnetron? Badly need help😔
If your magnetron is the reason its not heating and you have to replace it with a new one, then leave the cap alone. First test until you find the fault.
Dankie , jys n wenner
Hello! I have a problem my fridge doesn't switch on , it a double door fridge, what must I do ? I'm in south Africa, Durban
You should ask a technician to examine it & find the fault for you.
size or bearing number?
Replace it with the same size you take out. They are not all the same.
Great video! Thanks for sharing
Thanks Johan .... What a Brilliant "Fix" for an otherwise Very Expensive repair, IF you could Import That Board .... Do you still have the 'Compressor Protection Start Delay' Function ..... I am not sure If the Original Motherboard has it or If the NEW Controller has This Progammable Function .... I use a LOT of the STC1000 Controllers as they have a LOT of functions. I have sent you an email a few days ago ... Mooi Bly .... Groot Groete aan Almal, Cheers from ChCh, NZ
good to see you again
Hallo Johann, endlich wieder ein neues video. grüße aus Deutschland. Bitte mehr Videos von Ihrer Arbeit.
good to see you again , i have learned a lot with your videos keep it up
Can't you use glue? Zzz
The broken bit at the bottom of the fridge door carries all the weight of the food in the door plus the weight of the door. If you add it all up there is a tremendous amount of load on that one point where the hindge fits into.If you use a very good glue you may be able to get it as strong as it was before but not better than before. With my metal insert the weight is carried over a wider area which makes my repair stronger than original.
Brilliant Repair .... Don't know just WHY there was a Copper to Aluminium Joint Originally .... Of ALL the Metals, Copper and Aluminium must be the one of the Worst for 'Cathodic Action' / Electrolysis.... I have seen about 25mm Holes thru' an Aluminium Clading Sheet where Copper Nails were used .... Army Camp in Walvis Bay in 1970.... Naturally the Salt Mist every night did Not help either :-) :-) :-) Best to ALL from ChCh, NZ
Hallo daar Johan .... Ek het nou net 'n email aan U gestuur .... Groete vanuit ChCh, NZ
So thnxs
Very helpful. Sub'd.
Thanks, this is exactly what i was looking for. My Liebherr CUPsl 2721 fridge freezer is nearly 12 years old and wouldn't come on after running ok. One problem I believe was a thick ice build up on fridge evaporator rear wall, the compressor came on after being switched off all night & most of the ice had melted. Temperature dial is graduated 0 - 7. Found that compressor now runs continually on 7 (where I usually have it set; it may eventually go off after more than 24 hours), reducing to 6 compressor eventually switches off after many hours and fridge space is around 4 deg. C one third up from the bottom. I could try the settings you mention but I wonder if the compressor cooling output is a little weak. May I ask how long should a compressor last (I understand that nearly all compressors are made by the same company IIRC), at least for Europe? Also am I correct that these units should never need recharging with refridgerant since they are sealed units?
Behind your fridge is a black grid which is called a condensor, normally dust builds up on it. If you clean it properly you will immediatly get a 3 or 4 degree drop in temperature in your fridge. Never need recharging until a puncture developes.
@@JDNelRefrigeration Thanks, I should have mentioned that I have already pulled the fridge out and cleaned the condenser grid. What I didn't mention is that I put some fresh food in the freezer that will take time to freeze so may be I need to be more patient (it has never been very powerful, I think the motor is only rated 100 Watts IIRC (if I remember correctly). Can you say how long a Compressor can be expected to last please? Many thanks from the UK.
@@Martindyna The average modern compressor usually has a 10 year life, but I have seen some that have been running for over 30 years and are still going.
@@JDNelRefrigeration Thanks for the information. My late Mother bought an Amana fridge freezer 40 years ago and it still works fine but of course this is exceptional. The engineer who occasionally serviced it over the years said that he had to change out the compressor on a modern Amana after only 6 years in more recent times.
do you train students Sir?
No
🎉
Hello sir my defy is treping there mine switch
Thank you so much for your videos o am busy with the same fridge right now but will I be able to still use the DC fan but via the transformer
No. I replace them with 220v AC fans
You seem to know way more than me about vacuums. I would like to know what is generally the main cause for a extrmely loud central vacuum? Last thing I did before it broke was to vacuum very fine dust. (Concrete dust). I know it's a bad idea. But instead of buying a new one I'd love to try and repair it myself.
If your fan blade is off balance either due to something stuck on it or a piece broken off of it, it will create a lot of noise.
Sir thank you very much. I fixed my fridge myself and it's working so perfect Forever grateful 😊😊😊😊
Your videos are very helpful Thank you very much
You are the best!!🎉
Thank you for the video, would you tell me that when the pressure reaches the threshold e.g 75 and the switch trips, The compressor gets off?? and what happens to the pressure. does it increases or decreases. I have "Johnson Controls P77AAW-9350" pressure switch installed on outdoor unit (condnsor) but i dont't know how to adjust it. kindly guide me @JDNelRefrigeration
The colder your fridge the lower the pressure. The warmer your fridge the higher the pressure. Different gasses work at different pressures. There are 2 ways to find out what pressure to adjust your pressure to, to make your fridge function optimal. 1. If you know what gas your fridge operates on, you can find the pressure and temperature equivilent online. 2. Bypass the pressure switch so that your compressor runs continuously , put a thermometer in your fridge and monitor the temperature. If you reach your desired temperature make a note of your gas pressure. Switch the compressor off. When your fridge has warmed up to the temperature that you want it to start up at make a note of the gas pressure. Now you have your 2 pressures to adjust your pressure switch.
❤
Thanks sir...Good Job! ...what kind of thinners lacquer or paint?
It doesnt matter.
Is compressor does not rurn but lights are on
I always test fridges before I can give an answer
I admire your dedication to not throw away a perfectly good fridge for the sake of a small component on a pc board. My pc board is damaged. Do you know anyone who repairs?
No unfortunatly not.
@JDNelRefrigeration Anyway I will see what I can do to "analoguize" it.
@JDNelRefrigeration Hi JD. I managed to get my fridge, freezer working by bypassing the power supply part of the pc board and just putting a 220 -15 transformer to power the electronics etc. I could not believe it myself but everything works, even the ice maker and water dispenser.
What’s the part number for the relay
I dont know part numbers sorry.

i was having exactly the same issue. learnt a lot from your video. thanks
Thank you very much. Someone wanted to charge R600 for that and I've just done it myself.
Cheers for showing us, now i know what to do mine ever packs up 😂
Worked on a unit like this recently here in South Africa. The customer didn't wanna throw it away as well 😅
Thank you sir, for sharing your knowledge with us green technicians
Show us how you did it not only explanation, poor vi
Why did you use two capillary tubes?
Because I didnt have one the exact size.
How much do they cost
Were did u buy those rods u use eg silbraloyi and silveroyi metibraze 34
Probraze materials
The black wire is conected on defrost timer but is not connected on the compresor
The black wire that you have put onto the defrost timer, one part will run down to the compressor the other part runs up into the roof of the fridge which you have to connect onto the gray wire once you have disconnected it from the PC Board in order to make the fan work
A good idea is to fill the compressor with water before regassing. Then it will run cooler
Less than one drop of water in the system will freeze and cause a blockage.
