Fitting newly refurbished seat rails to the Clio Williams! What a nightmare!
In this video I attempt to swap out my seat rails on the Clio Williams only to find the ones I had refurbished were incorrect! What a pain!

Pt 3 - Project GC8 Impreza Series McRae - Front Arches Completed, Wheels on and Back on the Ground!

In this video I finish off building up the passenger side front arch and gettingthe Impreza back on the ground and out the container! I even give it a wash! Next up, time to start the rear end and getting it all stripped down!

In this video I start to rebuild the front drivers side inner arch with some new and refurbished parts along with fitting coilovers. The next video will see me finish the front end and get the car back down on the ground ready to tackle the rear end!

In this video I get a few annoying little jobs done that i've been meaning to do on the Williams for a while. This isn't the end of the list, oh no, theres always more things I want to do on the car. Each one just makes the car better and better and it is always the small details that make a car, not just a good paint job.

In this episode, I adjust the exhaust on my Clio Williams as it has recently been knocking on the rear beam and I had a advisory on the MOT for a minor exhaust leak. I also do a quick oil and filter change along with refurbishing my peddles.

How much did it cost you for all the new parts for the front setup?
Hi, sorry for the delay in relying, I've only just seen this! I think overall it probably cost around £1.5k with the new hubs etc. I can check my spread sheet and find out! Cheers

That Uno Turbo is an extremely rare car, very 1st model & on a B reg wow very rare.
Yeah, very early car. Wouldn't be surprised if its a press car from back in the day.
I believe it is a press car, iv had more than x4 myself & still have 1 today but B reg wow. Original 1299cc version & rare colour too, great little cars & anyone who knows them had 1 always remembers how much fun they had. Fetching more now than new back in the day!!! But look @the Rs500 values now these classics really have gone wild.

When I was in early secondary school I used to walk past one of these, series mcrae, gold wheels etc... not just a boggo turbo 2k. Can still see it in my mind now it left such an impression. Loving it Dunc.

Stunning car mate. I've watched all your videos so far so keep them coming. I owned a Williams 2 in the late 90s and p/x'd it at a Honda dealer against a brand new DC2 Integra Type R. I've had many a car since inc Cosworths, Evos, M3s Focus Rs etc and it's the only car I've ever regretted selling. I'd own another in a heartbeat 💙

@@ddmdrive No probe mate it's great content much better than all the youtubers tuning Golf R's and BMW M140's to 600bhp. With regards the Escort Cosworth I had a big turbo in malled green, I traded it for £16500 back in 2003 with 55k on clock and bought a Mk1 Focus Rs 🤦♂️
If you are planning on dropping the oil & filter again I recommend fitting a Champion F136 oil filter. Gives you the same oil pressure as the old OEM filters.

Hi where did you source the wheels & spacers? So I presume you can now run the maxi 4 pots ..
Hi there. The wheels were direct from Speedline UK themselves. They're really helpful. They even told me about the spacers/fitting kit. They were from a company called Bordanova Sport over in France. They still make a lot of parts for the Group A Clio's for rallying etc. Hope this helps.

The Williams looks great!! I owned one for 7 years and loved every minute. Every drive was an event just had to get used to random people coming up to me wanting a chat about it all the time.
I've owned mine for a fair few years now and I totally agree with you. Every drive out is so much fun. And you're right, the Williams does get a lot of attention and comments. I've got more Clio Williams content coming up over the next few weeks :)

They're available from Renault Parts Direct. Not cheap mind you LOL

Yeah, I've had a couple of 16v clio's over the years. The prices of those are rising and they're getting harder to find!

stunning example. i had a mint williams 3 many years ago, wish i hadnt sold it. one of my favourite all time cars. had a clio 16v prior to that, and have had 2 ph1 172s and 2 clio 172 cups, still have the cup as a toy for weekends. renault make epic hot hatches.
Fantastic looking machine 👌 I would be almost certain that all clio williams (at least the mk1) had electric mirrors ( the ones fitted to the clio 1 baccara, where the williams parcel shelve also comes from) i have a wiliams 1 and it has electric mirrors, maybe it was optional?
Thank you, glad you like my williams. Williams 1 only came with manual mirrors. It was the only clio mk1 to come with manual phase 1 mirrors that had the colour coded caps on them. No other models had this combination. Not sure why yours has electric mirrors, maybe fitted at a later date?
@@ddmdrive you are right, it is only the baccara that had the coloured short mirrors with electric adjustment.
Williams 2s and 3s came with electric mirrors. All manual on the 1.
Moral of the story? get the body shop to fit them instead

Hi, thanks, glad you like it! I picked these up off eBay. You just have to keep searching regularly to see if any come up. Good luck with the search, it will definitely cover up any tatty sills.
Nice Vid Dunc. She a minter. Maybe do a video why the 1764 engine got change by Renault to 1998cc. I'm sure you know the story. And maybe explain how it went on to be the F7R in the Megane 1 Coupe, and then the F4R in the 172 - etc.

Indeed! It's a known thing with boxsters when they sit a while, they can kick out blue smoke on start up. The nature of the engine. As long as they don't do it in every start up!! Lol. That's then an issue! 😂
