disconnecting the hose at the radiator will save a hour of aggrivation with trying to remove it from the pump ...#1 tip!
Talkin bout sexual romance 🎶
Love these cars !
I had a 63 tempest, 326 CID, Three speed manual. Great little car, BUT if you put more than a few pounds of anything in the trunk the suspension and wheels would swing upwards and the parking brake cables would tighten and lockup the rear brakes. Also if while driving you hit a bump in the road and the rear suspension would allow the car to sink, the cables would tighten and momentary apply the rear brakes sometimes causing tire screech. The problem was that the parking brake cables entered the rear drums too low. Poor design, but that little car would move when asked to. Also the driveshaft was too long and didn't have a decent damper and anytime you let out the clutch "shaft vibration" was telegraphed into the car. Doing a complete cultch rebuild didn't help. The car was over "hyped"
The original Ariel 8
Yep I knew that and still loved them❤
Praise the lowered and pass the ammunition

Hell yeah brother! You're gonna dig what I'm doing to this thing
Hood Emblem was put back on crooked
😮😮😮👍👍👍👍
Im lost!
You know your cars. Keep it up!
Correct Yourself
Wow, what a project! I hope there's weekly updates on this amazing survivor squarebody!
My Aunt & Uncle had a 63 tempest Lemans with a manual 3 speed on the floor red with black interior had what was called a 326 but actually 336 & that car would take most anything it came against. It was the only 1 I have ever seen
You cut every important video part of replacing the water pump. Your tutorial is a piece of shit.
It sucks they came with a cruddy v6
No joke, luckily some very respectful owners of Prowlers have been taking care of them the right way. Seen one with a Hemi, another with a 2020 Corvette V8 Engine...Be cool if the car series was revitalized with REAL upgrade owners would buy for just 1 or two years to see how it rolls out.
Put beer in it 👍👍
Beer is the only other thing in it! Anytime you want to roll out here, I'll have beer in it with your name on it!
I had a red got coupe with the 2tg twin cam in it, there were a few brought in to New Zealand by importers from japan ,but sadly most of them have ended up being wrecked
Great video. Was helpful for me with my 75 Glenbrook GMC Motorhome 🇺🇲
Why you starting the video with the radiator off . This dumb video .
That other axle looks like a mopar 8 3/4
My Challenger is also an Manual R/T 2015. I just had an issue where I noticed steam coming through the hood after temp rose to 210 degrees. Coolant smell was pronounced but could not see where the leak was coming from. That said the steam was coming from the radiator area. Few small coolant puddles were around the pet cock are but when I pressurized the radiator I cannot get it to leak. Do you think this the radiator?
Yep. Especially if you saw coolant around that petcock drain area. I still have a faint smell on hot days when I park the car in the garage after I'm driving it. I think I might actually replace that Dorman radiator again, and get a genuine Mopar one this time. I would also look into replacing that drive shaft intermediate bushing, they make two-piece ones will replace the original rubber unit.
Look at you bro!!! Getting them views
Sounds like the Marine did not get his crayons today!
I want to know how that torque converter is supposed to be doing anything. It's on the wrong end? Or is it there to just plug the hole?
Looks so much better with front bumpers
I bet the Tempest this came from was mint metallic green.
This is why the testimony in My Cousin Vinney is so wrong. It is not a true independent suspension like they claim in the movie. The tires do not stay flat as they move up and down. They travel in an arc so as the tire goes up and down it leans in and out. If you put a first gen Corvair or one of these 1961-1963 Tempests up on a lift and the tires are fully drooped down, they will be leaning at an almost 45 -degree angle. There is a book called Assassination of the Corvair. In that book on page127 there is a picture of a first generation Corvair up on a lift and you will see just how a swing axle suspension works. Early rear engine VW Bettles have swing axle suspension as well. 1963 Pontiac Tempest wheelbase is 112 inches 1964 Buick Skylark wheelbase is 115 inches.
Not quite. Pontiac Tempest was never intended to have rear drive. The reason for the rear transaxle was so that the Tempest would seat 6 with a flat floor.
Do you think the water pump is the cause for the car getting overheated
Not at all. New waterpump and radiator, car is still running at 208-212. It's the missing under panels causing the warmer temps.
Ok my car is still overheating I already changed the thermostat and put new radiator
I’ve been trying to get one of these for years. Such a cool design
Dude, there's a mustang behind 🤯😍
I see gt500 everywhere I go he’ll my brother and law got a whipple on his but you never see prowlers anywhere 😫
omg a car you see literally everyday
But how do I get posi in my ‘63 f-85?!
Hey, maybe next time you could post a video that shows the "actual removal" of the radiator!!!
Lost me when he called DeLorean a “brain child”
Hey Kelly, have you tried the Curfboard, which is kind of like the successor to this board? Also, do you still have this board? How is it holding up after 20 or so years?
I have heard about the curfboard! It's very similar to the carver trucks! I have carvers on my 1989 Powell Peralta. I still have the Street Carver, it's been disassembled for a few years, but I actually I have someone at work who can weld aluminum who is currently repairing one of the swing arms because it developed a very tiny stress crack in it. I plan on cruising it around at the Car Shows I'm filming these days! I'll make a follow up video to it sometime soon.
@@kellyscars yo thanks for the reply! I just recently got a Powell skull and sword reissue and put Carver trucks on it. I'm interested in curfboard because they seem really unique. Wish I could try them sometime before buying.
Mine was brown 😂
I owned one back in the 80’s. It was very reliable and I regretted for selling and upgrading to Supra at the time because it was my first car. It had moon roof and cargo cage at the trunk with beautiful cream white paint job.
You didn't show nothing but talking
Thank you, next time I do a radiator, I'll be sure to show you how to loosen bolts and pull a radiator in a downward fashion away from the car.
😂😂these are facts. I appreciate you telling me what tools i needed but i thought it was an actual video to help
@@kellyscarsare you making videos for people that don’t know about cars or already know about cars explain better and stop trying to be sarcastic. People are here cause they need advice on how to do it
Right lls
This is a great #short
Kind of a cool design but that's just a garage queen, still kinda cool, thanks for the video
Go to any car show today, and usually it's just Boomers showing off the garage Queens. I'm just glad to see one out in the wild
I'm a boomer with several classic cars that I drive on regular basis they aren't meant to be driven not sit and collect dust
Dude so sick thanks for the vid
Bro this dude is da best explainer in da world 👍
Hello - Is it difficult to replace the condenser? DO you have to take the bumper off ?
Not sure on both accounts...
I have an 81 Celica gt. Rebuilt engine and transmission, automatic. Need to find a new power steer gear box for it but other then that it runs GREAT! Only has 161 thousand miles on it since the rebuild
I've herd Hawaiis Sirens there scary I thought we were under attack again in Honolulu Hawaii and I thought the World was coming to end like what Hawaii in the past EAS went off on saying This is Not Drill but it was Fake
My mother has one just like this, except it’s the ST. Same color, same pinstripe.
so you just left the shroud in and worked around it?
I don't remember, I think the fan does come out with the shroud staying in place, I remember it is a close fit.
How would you pull out the fan without removing the shroud? There's no clearance.
Do you have the belt number?
