what ive learned is that I need to find someone who does for pay.
Great vid….except for the huge screwup at 8:05 where you skipped over the part where you put the PTFE o ring in the groove under the ball cage. I had to go watch some other guy’s vid to clarify.
for anyone doing this make sure the piston is in the down position before disassembly. Y ou can pull it down after you take the hex screws out but its tough

Are you using the fine finish front end?
The White front end that comes with the unit, I find that for latex paint it is the Best.
@@havingfuninthesun9459 interesting. That flex front end (the white / black) has historically always left an orange peel texture, even when thinned at 10%

What aligns the filter?
If you set the pump on its bottom (fan side down) then the pump is facing up, you can just screw the manifold filter straight in.
@@havingfuninthesun9459 ok so nothing really holds it in place. You just try to center it up and screw it on at the same time?

@@00powerstrokin the filter has a spring insert in it, the housing has a place that is molded for the spring and filter to center and seal, this is were the filter and spring pushes up against, so the filter, spring and housing are all set in the proper place.

If you bought it new it should have a warrantee, also you may have frozen the transducer.
How do you unfreeze transducer ?

BEST VIDEO ON 440 ON THE NET. Thanks for taking the time to share the information. Very useful for me. The tips of using the 3/8 for holding the piston is excellent! I was wondering, my 440 turns off after several seconds and the reset button on the machine pops. I think I might have an electrical or motor problems? Please advice!

There is a volume control located near your device. Click the bottom button to lower the sound, push the up button to self destruct.

What type of symptoms do wore out packings produce?
Pressure will drop, hose can chatter (bounce or vibrate up and down), take longer to prime. in general if you are spraying okay in the morning and you come back after lunch and you need to turn up the pressure, this is a good indication that your packing are wearing out. also keep an eye out for paint that is coming out of the top of the packings, you can see this in the front or the back of the pump block. if you see this you should get your pump repacked soon.
What material is the pump block of the machine made of? Aluminum? And if so, is it more resistant than stainless steel?
Yes the block is aluminum, Stainless steel is a very good material as well, but has a few draw backs. weight and cost.
You make it look easy! I’d imagine a Graco is much more involved.

Great video, now my question is get an impact 440 or a graco 395 ultra?
both are good pumps, but Titan has better a warrantee, is a better value, has less ware parts for repairs, pusher valve for easy start-up (Titan exclusive) and longer history of making small pumps
Both are great, but Titan 440 is a better value, and much easier to repack the need arises.

how many gallons do those packaging need to be replaced? Do they last longer than the graco ones?
All packing's, will wear out differently depending on what you are spraying, how you take care of them, (clear finish's vs heavy body, using piston lube vs not, running it dry-no liquid) I believe that the 440 packing will last as long or longer. In the 20 plus years I have been working with equipment this has been my experience. Hope that it will be yours.

Turbine set at 12, keep the coating as warm as possible, (70 degrees or so) when using a flat pattern the fluid setting should be around 6-8, when changing to a round pattern reduce the fluid by 1.5 to 2 (4.5 to 4)

Good video, like how the steps were broken down and limited use of electric tools for people without those tools. I would figure you would need to lube the piston before you insert it into the new packings.

I know this isn't a titan 440i but maybe you would have some general idea of what to look with my problem. my titan 440i motor keeps smoking and blowing the fuse. i pulled it apart and see that the brushes on the motor are heating up and smoking then blowing the fuse . would you have any ideas what it could be?
are you using an extension cord? If you are STOP. Sounds like the incorrect AMPERAGE is reaching the motor which would cause this, if you absolutely need to use an extension cord get a nice THICK gauge extension cord, not a cheap one.
