what's the lift on your tacoma. Also were did you get the tent? its bad ass
@@chriscaballero8966 Thanks! Check out my Suspension Setup video for the full explanation. The Awning is the OVS 270 awning 🤙🏽
I had these before and I had them at 2.5 lift and thru on a .5 spacer or shim to give me that 3” and maintain the smooth ride
Nice mats!

What load bars do you have on your rsi ?
Also penny is so cute looks like my Finley!
Corgi !!!! Haha I have one to 😂
This might be a stupid question but I’m new to the RTT life. Should I center the position of my RTT and let my awning poke out from the vehicle more? Or should I shift over the RTT some so that the awning and RTT poke out from the vehicle equal amounts?
@@motorhead_jt21 No stupid questions here man. I’ve seen both but ultimately I centered the RTT and left the awning poking out bc of aesthetic’s & even weight distribution when inside the tent.

Hello, greetings from Pontassieve, province of Florence, Italy. I have a Suzuki Jimmy 4x4 with a 1.3 litre M13A petrol engine, manufactured in 2001, all original, which I often use on dirt roads in rural farms and on forestry dirt roads used by loggers to get wood from the forest. With forestry tractors, with skidders and forwarders, and with forestry trucks used to transport wood! And this is even though a 4x4 off-road vehicle with original configuration behaves very well on this type of forestry and rural dirt and gravel roads used in the construction of rural country roads
@@lmalesci Nice! Sounds rad dude🤙🏽
For leveling……I found a couple of the little round bubble level things, like you would see in an actual level (got em at harbor freight for like .50 cents I think) and they slide right into the T rail of the tent. I put one in the back and one on the drivers side…..it gets me pretty close to flat, helps out a bunch.
@@kalikasurf Thats a good idea! For now Ive been just eyeballing it and its done me well so far 🤙🏽. Thanks for the info though I may go for that in the future.
I have the same suspension and wheel and tire set up. But I don’t anything near 8” between my wheel and fender. What’s your secret 😂
@@jasonshpak I also upgraded the leaf springs to the deaver stage 3 leaf packs! This put my rear up higher than they were with the stock leafs, and then I used the spanner tool on the front coils to match the rear height (careful to follow directions on how much you can raise them - I went all the way to their maximum recommended limit)

Any regrets with the Smartcap? Would you go with ARE/Leer instead after knowing what you know. I’m about to pull the trigger on one but wanna make sure it’s absolutely the right choice. I’m quoted $6,600 CAD for one.
@@TheTruongVerse The only reason I was able to get the smartcap was because I got mine for a deal on marketplace ($2,750 US). I couldn’t afford a $4000 canopy, but with what I know now I would probably go with an alibaba one, just because they’re structurally identical to the smartcap and other similar models (made of extruded aluminum) and can hold more weight than fiberglass. The side window access for me is the main factor I think you should look for, as its an unbeatable feature in my opinion. I believe side windows are totally worth paying extra money even on a leer or ARE If I couldn’t have gotten the RSI that cheap I most likely would have gotten a cheaper cap like a Leer or an ARE from marketplace. Keep an eye out on there because you can save tons of money!
@Luna_Tacoma I would considered a used one but unfortunately, I had to get a 2024 Tacoma. So my only option is new. And the problem is now to even get the windoors on ARE/Leer, it brings it to $5,500. Still cheaper but... not sure what to do. I've just seen poor workmanship on ARE and Leer but RSI seems pretty consistent with good quality
@@TheTruongVerse Oh! Well if I were in your shoes I would DEFINITELY fork out the extra cash for the RSI. The build quality is top notch, but also the slique look of it really makes the build. Since youre already shopping near that price I would save a little more for the RSI and it will be totally worth it in the long run. Its also very customizable.
However, $6600 is steep for just a canopy, and at this point a GFC or Lone Peak Camper may be something else to consider!
@@HawaiianZeus thanks for the input!
Nice video and nice setup. What was the name of that river??
@@sskirv5071 thanks! I believe it was the yakima river!

Mannnnnn, I had to watch the beginning of this video in slo mo just to watch that stance on your truck lol. I might be the only weird mf that watches trucks n cars n slow mo 🤣🤣🤣
@@markunion9156 nah man I definitely watch an unhealthy amount of truck videos lol
I really like your video man, your dog, your tent, especially your taco, so clean and minimal but looks solid I dig it. Ever had any problems with stealth wheels when offroad? Keep up the good work man, the mountain views were amazing too! I only hope to get those wheels and camp alot more too!
@@markunion9156 thanks man!! No problems with the wheels! If anything theyre nice bc they tuck in a lot and im not too worried about scratching them on anything. I got some new content coming soon! Appreciate the feedback 🤙🏽
@@HawaiianZeus ya brotha keep up the content!! I'm wanting the same wheels, other than my dream volks wheels 🤣 I'm digging the lip on the wheels though! After watching your videos I kept wanting to see how much that rsi bed cap is and I was like gdam. My girl isn't into bed caps but I want a set later on..have a good one brotha 🤙🏽🤙🏽
@@markunion9156 I appreciate the love man 🤙🏽 My gf thought canopies made pickups look like grandpa trucks but she changed her mind with the RSI. She says it gives it a more “sporty, rugged” look vs the classic LEER or ARE, and I agree. Plus nothing has beat having a canopy and Ive gone through pretty much every option (Soft Trifold, Hard Trifold, Ultraflex, Backflip, Diamondback, Retrax). This is by far my favorite one.
Is that an EVO-A or an EVO-S?
@@mikespies786 Upon more googling, I belive its an Evo Sport, but I could be wrong. I bought it second hand from marketplace. Thanks for the interest!
Nice build, with the suspension in guess it’s 2.5 inch lift in the front are you rubbing with that set up and did you have to do anything if it was rubbing thanks
@@tilon0991 Yes. I have a -38mm offset so a body mount chop and some platic trimming in the front area was needed. Do you think a more in depth video on this would help you?

@@derickgehris Ill try and make one this weekend!
This build is well coordinated. The color the mods everything is just in sync specially the awning. You mentioned that you sleep over the deck system. Is it comfortable or can this build still accommodate a roof tent. Thank you for sharing and i am a new subscriber.
@@marlonmendoza2882 Thanks! I spent a lot of time planning for everything I wanted. I slept on the decked system maybe 5 times before upgrading to an RTT. Specifically because of how little headspace I had when sleeping on the decked. It was bearable but not nearly as comfortable as sleeping in the rtt. Definitely is a pain to crawl in and out of the canopy when sleeping in there, not to mention having to pull out all your gear to setup your bed.
Finally a rooftent over the RSI cap. I will be waiting for the awning installation. Nice set up man im kind of new to this.

Nice build. How heavy is that tent?
Thanks! Its 176lbs. And the rsi smartcap canopy is rated for 770lbs static weight
very nice truck
Thank you!!!
Nice build! I’m prejudice and I think the third gen looks WAY better than the disposable/throwaway “Flyin Freckle”🥱 fourth gen 2024 Tacoma.😳
Thank you!
@@HawaiianZeushey man can you help me understand something so i can make a decision from myself? First off, what made you go with 285/70 vs 285/75? Second, regarding your offset, i always thought the more negative your offset it the further it will stick out from the fender. How come your -38 doesn’t stick out a lot, but i have seen people with -25 and it sticks out much further, so is there other things that cause the wheel to push out further other than offset?
@@AFGixxeR88 Sure! I chose the 285/70/17 bc it was the first option available for me (bought second hand). As for the offset, some people can add spacers to achieve an even greater “poke” out from the wheel well. So if someone already has a -28mm offset rim and adds a 1.5” spacer it will stick out even more. Hope this helps!
Beautiful truck
Thank you!
Nice build.
Thanks!
Sweet!
Thanks!
nice build , i just dont get it how you sleep with that deck system ...are you 5' tall?
Thank you! I know lol. I’m 5’ 11” so I throw a cooler by my feet to extent the extra foot I need to sleep comfortably. This setup does the trick for now but Im hoping to get a tent soon.
