Hey mate… there’s a few models. If you are using 100g jigs there should be a light jigging rod rated to 100g or 120g I think the one below 120 will be ideal. Otherwise you won’t get the bend through the rod and nice action. Personally I would go lighter as they are great rods and once hooked up can handle big fish.

Get some lead, boil it up and pour it in the mould. Have some wire running through for the hole. Wear protective gear

For determining current… there are a few ways. To determine direction on naviknics. You can check the direction of the wind and see if there is any influence on the drift line. You can also drop a lure below the boat to see which direction it goes. Sometimes getting snagged means you are in the right area. But to avoid… look how fast your lure sinks, then compare to the water depth and count out the time in your head. I hope that helps…

The whale is cool! I rarely anchor for snapper. Especially when using lures to be able to cover more ground.

We use a canon 7D mark 2

Tell that fella they are both a 6wt rod and reel and 6wt floating line that is a good setup to start learning fly fishing with as its easy to learn to cast with and you can target all your estuary favs like flathead bream whiting and blackfish and even pelagics if on a boat and it will also work perfectly as a freshwater outfit for trout and bass… If its a rod or reel rated for 5/6 weight or 6/7 weight both perfect…spend more on the rod than the reel if it isn’t a combo. Hopefully this helps

A quality floating line is perfect mate 5 or 6 wt

@@saltydogs8631 this year have been a long season water temperature is still warm and marlins are still being caught in sydney. It must be the La Niña effect

The guts are very small and most stay attached to the head

Keep trying... maybe remove the head of your fish so it lies more flat. Easier to work with when turning to the other side.

You can try filleting the next side from the tail towards the head it can sometimes prevent the dislodging of the head from the frame

Josh Pittorino it’s a Kees has filleting blade... comes in 2 sizes 9 and 7 inch... I have both, but use the smaller one mainly for bread and butter stuff

Good question... No need if you are doing this when catching your own... Bit different at the markets when they come in big batches. Want to keep them as fresh and tasty as possible
