This was so enjoyable to watch. Huge fan of Nancy Meyers and this movie. Like most, I fell in love with the house and the choices the set designers made. You di a wonderful job in going through the rooms. It all instantly brought back such good memories. Really enjoyed it, well done!

My two favorite bookstores are Shakespeare and Company in Paris, opened in 1951, and well worth a visit, and one that no longer exists 🥲 Elliot Bay Bookstore in Pioneer Square, Seattle. When Bill Clinton visited Seattle, he stopped in there. It was a destination. Thank you for the commentary on the You’ve Got Mail sets. That was great. I wonder if you would do one on the houseboat in Sleepless in Seattle, where Tom Hanks lived with his son in the movie.

Tomas, thank you for this tour. I love Santa Barbara, even though I have only been there once, I want to go back. Sometimes I pop on Redfin just to see some of the lovely homes, and I follow a realtor who does tours. Nancy Meyers homes are wonderful for appearing upscale in that laissez faire way of old money, and as you say, curated over time. The materials are beautiful, but not treated as precious. They have that touch of wabi sabi welcome. 🥂

When I saw this movies I fell in love with the house especially the windows. Needing new windows I had my windows replaced with similar windows with grids -years later love them still.

I have watched many videos and read interviews and articles about Nancy Meyers and her films. This living room, and the living room in It's Complicated, both used pops of color in orange. Used sparingly, just enough to catch the eye. Also the bed in the master bedroom of both movies have it centered in between two windows, using natural color bedding. In the master suite in It's Complicated, she used an orange throw across the foot of the bed. And the dresser in the guest room where Harry sleeps is arranged very similar to the dresser in the master suite of It's Complicated. The dressers themselves look similar, with the mirror placed above it in same positions. I think Nancy Meyer is a genius and all of these simple details that do not seem to bring attention to themselves are actually what make the whole set a warm and believable space that can be duplicated if you want to break it down and take the time to recreate the look for yourself. I love love everything about this Beach House. It is a character in the film, like all her sets are.

Maybe a bit has already been covered, yet the two houses in the 2006 film, The Holiday, is a good option for the contrast of the Los Angeles sleek modern property with the Surrey English (Rose) Cottage with it's fabricated cozy nook of a space - both are isolated within to show how the characters have closed themselves in upon their own worlds of denial.

I absolutely Love this series of Interior Design in Film. Something’s Gotta Give have been one of my favorite movies since I was a kid. The intro was spectacular and really encapsulates the relationship in this movie. The rocks have so much meaning and I love that you incorporated it in this video. Thank you for all the tips on how to incorporate the Nancy Meyer’s style in our own homes. I am looking forward to the next episode of this series. ❤

Of course my brain knew the scenes were shot on a set but my heart believes that this house exists and was your destination as you picked up rocks while walking on the sand...I guess that just underscores the skill of the set designers!

Hi. I am late to the party commenting on this one so I don't know if you will see it. I moved into my apartment about 5 months ago and am still emptying stuff out. I threw away my old couch it was ruined and made my square table my new desk. This apt. is shaped much different than my other one and to me seems smaller in some ways but a few things are larger. I work about 3-4 days a week, different times so sometimes I am too tired to deal with the apt and other times I really want to get to it. I am trying to finish it up before the end of the year and your videos are very helpful. thank you. The problem is when I do have some energy I try to really get to decorating because I can get lost watching videos even helpful ones and then all of my time is gone. I love how you design and put your own style on your stuff and you mix and match a few expensive pieces with inexpensive pieces so it's not so unaffordable to follow. thanks again

You are lucky, the lights are softly coloured not that harsh LED that sometimes happens with tree lights. It looks lovely. Tip for next time, add some of the tree balls toward the middle of the branches, it makes everything look fuller!

I love it I’m from Miami and I love Christmas and I buy a real tree all the time but I love the color lights are used burial lights since I was a kid so from the 1960s and 50 and all that so I bought some and I do I love to use white but different collection of ornaments from Bradco, and all that kind of stuff beautiful Ragu.

Hi Tomas...Your "less" Christmas decorating turned out just beautiful! Loved the mantel! Yes, the Christmas tree is the quinessential part of Christmas decorating and yours turned out just beautiful! I might add, an alternative to keeping your "lighting options" open is to cut out present lights from the tree. I know that seems harsh, but when they no longer work, and if you want to keep the tree, you simply have to cut them out any way. Enjoyed the video! Hugs!
