Paul, Silas, and Timothy had not been able to stay with and prepare the Believers at Thessalonica, but for a brief time. Paul was concerned for these new Believers in light of the suffering for Christ they were already experiencing. He had to know of how they were doing. Paul has been corrective and will continue to be throughout this letter. However, he is more stern here in his rebukes of the Corinthian Believers. They are demonstrating worldliness and act as if they are not aware of it. Paul must address them over this. Pastor Darrell Winters
