The ground penetrative radar says otherwise. If the government puts a sign up doesn't mean it's true, they arent exactlyknownfor thier honesty. The South Australian government said the nuclear bombs that were detonated here only affected the area they were detonated. This is simply not true. My father was a reservoir keeper. We talked to the water samplers back in the 1990s... there's a layer of mud in every reservoir across south east Australia that has nuclear fallout from the 50s and 60s. The book that showed how many farmers died in the Flinders Ranges from the immediate fallout was banned. Don't tell me governments are honest.

Long lost civilisation. But NZ government will never let anyone excavate it as they fear it may alter NZ history, better they make up that it was created naturally over 300,000 years ago.

There was a bizarre murder of two elderly sisters who belonged to the Salvation Army in Wairoa, Hawkes Bay in 1942.On 21 August the elderly sisters Rosamund and Annie Smyth were found beaten to death in their Wairoa home; the crime had occurred about 13 days earlier. It was established that the murder weapons were an axe and a poker. There were a number of possible suspects but no one was ever convicted. In 1962 a dying Leo Silvester Hannan confessed to killing the Smyth sisters, and also an old man named Herbert Brunton at Wairoa in December 1948; Brunton had also been killed with an axe.

As you suggested, the reason this hasn't been excavated and there is only one reason, forget the trees etc is that if it were true that it is a man made structure it affects the Treaty. And to say there's no other evidence look at the stone structures in Waipua Forest, the Stone dwellings near Taupo and the boulder carvings at Raglan that are deliberately being left to erode away on the beach front. The NZ government are doing a great job at eradicating any potential idea that there was a pre-Maori culture existing in NZ.

Simple question for the geologists out there: If this was a lava flow why did the lava stop flowing as a flat face like this? Alternatively, if the "face" of the "wall" is a vertical cleavage in a natural formation then what has happened to the remainder if the stone?
