Alligator snapper Turtle pond update. New turtles added. #pond #turtles
I have just one comet goldfish in my 65 gallon tank. It was a rescue. But he’s at least three inches long now. Maybe four inches. I think I need a bigger tank. Maybe 150 gallons.
Sounds like it's missfiring, Check the plug.
There’s a huge difference. 15hp carb has twice the CFM over the 9.9hp carb. If you would have turned them around and looked at the exhaust side of the carb, you would have seen the 15hp carb tunnel is nearly twice the size of the 9.9. Other than the much larger tunnel in the carb, the main jet is the only thing different. It’s a much bigger fuel jet than the 9.9hp.
I just ordered the same carb and measured compared to the stock one. Looks like both measure 32mm on one side and 23mm on the other, exact same. So I’m confused maybe it is just a jetting difference? Hopefully it’s different cause it cost a lot just for that haha
Do you know the serial number for the 15 hp carburetor? Thank you. I’m trying to buy one
Common snapping turtles are a different species than aligator snapping turtles
Helpful thank you
dang, u could of made it into a cichlid tank
Can i swap my mercury 50 corb with a 90
Show me
I got that one gives me welder flash all the time
Pls give me the # number of the carb.
Hey man I just purchased a 2015 9.9 mercury 4 stroke-I’m trying to figure out where the breather hose hooks up to,it goes from top of carb to what ? If you can help me I’ll appreciate it
I’m wondering the same. Did you ever figure it out?
@@dustinwachter9581 yes there’s a hole beneath the carb towards the back,it goes in that hole

I have a 9.9 Mercury four-stroke I was wanting to upgrade it did the carburetor upgrade help any
Getting literally days out of a hood right now - they are gone so shonky it isn't right. They're crapping out after 30 or 40 hours use. I used have a hood a solid year or 2 of long days before they would conk, now they barely last a week, joking aside. Manufacturing standards have gone to muck.
Replacing the battery isn't hard
@@patgraeme775 No - but finding them is. Mfrs increasingly use oddball batteries. Don't get me started on how crap the battery housings tend to be. Current hood is a Vires I like a lot that charges itself, no battery required. Vision out is good too. Unlike many.
@@jamesward5721 how often do you use it? I just ordered the cheap yes welder hood to beat up at school
@@patgraeme775 I'm stuck welding 7 days a week every week - there's a pile of dead masks in the corner that's pretty chunky. :-) The Vires is my fave so far - prefer it to even 3m stuff. It takes severe hacking & still works great - plus the view out suits me - that's another entirely subjective thing - people like different sorts of views out - there's another 3 day old mask here that was far spendier - it has a deep green tinge to the view - I hate it, the other chap here loves it - so it's very subjective.
Do you know how to change the # lens ? Like from 6 to 10
Mine has a dial on the side of the helmet.
You would have gotten the same results with just the prop the carb does nothing!!!
Please add the link or the part number for the 15 carb.
I have a 2004 Merc 9.9 with 323cc of displacement. Pretty sure the carb swap would grant more HP on mine. Tho swapping in larger jets would probably be cheaper and guve the same results if the intake of the carbs are the same. Anyone know where i can get the 15 HP carb or jets?
When you at it you at it
Where did you get the Carb?
Do you need also a 15hp prop, or not?
i bet You didnt get more hp. 15hp has bigger displasement( over 300 cc). this block has 209cc
I was about to ask,how u can get more hp from the same cc?? 😉
I’m curious about this also. I believe this model number is the same block as the 8HP. The 15hp has more displacement.
Well a question do y’all believe a 9.9 is more hp than the 8hp cause the 8hp and 9hp is the exact same motor so something causes it to goes a tad faster other than the displacement. I don’t think he gets 15hp from it but maybe a 11 or 12
I also replaced from a 4 blade prop to 3 blade prop. But before than it wasn’t much of an upgrade. The prop made all the difference. Sorry for not replying for 8 months I took a nap lol.
@@kostaswolf1978 I don't think it's a question of how you can get MORE hp from the same cc...it's how you can get LESS. They built the 15 hp and wanted to maximize the profitibility of that engine so they put a smaller carb on it and called it a 9.9. Then, with the same stroke of genius they made an even smaller carb and called it an 8. Really, it's a win for everyone. If you bought a 15, great, but if you bought something smaller and want to upgrade without buying a whole new engine, you can. The engine is reliable enough get away with this. Also, just think about if you were one of the people who bought the 8. For a couple of bucks you could almost DOUBLE your horsepower.
Great job man you do great work I like watching your videos.
Nice video. Where did you buy the upgrade carb from?
Any updates? How has it been running? I heard it can foul plugs if not adjusted. I’m somewhat mechanical but not enough to adjust carbs. I’m hoping to do the swap myself. Just ordered my kit. Also did u get something for the exhaust? I saw that online somewhere.
I haven’t had any problems yet I have been running it every weekend and hadn’t had my problems. The first two days I did have to adjust the carb but it wasn’t bad
I got a new prop also buy honestly it still runs 22 mph by myself
@@SuperEuriel I see. Well I wanted to attempt to pull the kids on a tube. Only have it on an inflatable boat so figured the little upgrade will be nice. Thanks for the update.
@@SuperEuriel I ordered a prop. Hope it’s a good one- 8.9x9.5.
hey, our 9.9 is now running rich after installing this carb. keeps fouling spark plugs and they’re wet. is there a way to adjust these? i contacted the company but didn’t hear back yet. thanks
I only had to do a little bit adjusting but not much and then it was good
@@SuperEuriel which screw do you adjust it with? this is my first time working on a carb of any kind
If it's running rich you'll probably need to adjust the mixture screw, usually it's a recessed screw that is in the aluminum housing. Look up the specs/diagram for your particular carburetor to find it's location and which way to turn it to increase or decrease air flow
the difference is in the jets in the lower portion. Bigger to let more fuel through
What do you got in there
It’s hard to tell but a few koi, bass a school of shinners, blue gill and a few pleco
@@SuperEuriel all you need is some boots and a rack of ribs and it’s the south in a pond
Bruh not if she latina that's how you die or wish to die
Lmao 😂
I’m sorry 3.70 per gallon? Where tf you live in moving there
Lmao I’m in liberty, TX
I’ll be there
I hate to be asking the same question twice but just to clarify did you pick up 2 to 3 mph with nothing but the carburetor change? Is this before you ever changed props?
Yes I picked up 2-3 mph with just the carb swap and then after the prop change it picked up more. It was just a flat 4 blade to a 3 blade pitched
Awesome thanks!!!!
Any difference on the carb swap ?
Like a 2 mph gain to be honest.
@@SuperEuriel thanks for the reply i have 17 9.9 and gonna get the carb as well
@@qapsukalek mine had a 4 blade flat pitch prop and I swapped it to a 3 blade and that made a world of difference
@@SuperEurielwhat does she run now with the 3 blade ?
I believe i was able to go 20mph I got a new boat since then and haven’t used it
Woah, that's a big ol catfish!
Notice any top speed difference ? I have the exact same 9.9 and I want some more speed
I noticed a little bit of a difference but I ordered a new propellor and should be in today to test it out again. It was like 2-3 mile difference
@@SuperEuriel Where did you order the part from? Also, which prop are you planning on using? I have a 2022 9.9 that is in desperate need of some more power.
@@jasonlennon4128 I bought both off of Amazon the propeller definitely made a difference it’s a 14 tooth spline 9.25x9, part number 48-897750A11 for propeller and the carb came from Viking Powersports
Does this motor have the same block as the 15?
Yes from what I understood
15 hp its bigger.. over 300cc
Theres a big block 15 and a small block 15. The carb he put on that 9.9 is from the small block 15hp. Its like 230 something CC's versus the bigger 15hp thats around 300cc's. I have worked on both.
@@orlandomoreno5326 i got a 9.9 hp and 209cc....even if i put a 15hp carb,i dont think its gonna give me more power from the same cc
@@kostaswolf1978 Yes it will because the carb has different parts to flow more flow into your engine, also the air intake is a little bigger. I upgraded a 9.9 to 15 before
