I love these old war birds a lot because I spent a lot of time working on the engines. We had TF-33 engines which at that time were the newer ones. I loved running them to test them even on a leak test run. I have a lot of seat time in them because I and one ther guy were the only two run men on the base. That meant twelve on and twelve off seven days a week.

This is a stunning livery on a loco, i have an Accurascale model and a Bachmann model, both look superb in my opinion.

Tornado is such a cool name.

34066 Spitfire and 34086 219 Squadron were considered candidates for preservation in the 60s for their good conditions but 34023 Blackmoor Vale was chosen for preservation instead due to it being in better condition than 34066 Spitfire and 34086 219 Squadron.

I take it that you were filming through the new fencing at the Horse Landing overlooking the avoiding lines ? Upto a couple of years ago there was only a crash barrier which made easier uninterupted viewing.

Thanks for the video i used to live just down the road and go every year but now live in Ireland. We do have some good steam rallies here as well.

I am old enough to remember the days of steam. My great uncle worked on the trains for all his working life and retired in 1965, and lived for another 40 years. He finished up as the superintendent on dining cars and was always loved his job. He earned a respectable wage but in those days I think the job came first.
