Yes i was in High School when this came out and it was only 23 years since WW2 was over...crazy now its almost 80 years ago and I'm 72 OMG....😮
Can play it hafe ansleep! Kent Vogel A.S.C.A.P WBD
17:20 that. solo. is. killer.
They should have made and marketed a Charlie Callas bobblehead.
Saw them at the Columbus Zoo in 2003 ( or 2004 ). The Thorns (Matthew Sweet, Pete Droge & Shawn Mullins) opened the show. Tim Easton joined all of them onstage for 'Blue' and 'Tailspin'. One of the best show I've EVER seen. And I've seen hundreds and hundreds.
He certainly refined this routine over the years. A comedic genius for sure, funny as hell!
❤❤😂😂
This is really hard to watch. It's just so lame. Maybe I'm just biased because of the plethora of funny material I've seen throughout my life. Idk, none of this made me laugh at all.
THE GREATEST BAND OF THE 90'S
Boo
Tim Reagan is certainly a talented drummer, but when The Jayhawks parted ways with Ken Callahan they sadly lost their vital spark. Callahan was a master behind the kit!
"Kid?" He was already 40.
20 years ago and timeless as ever
Overdoes it with making fun of disabilties
That is not funny at all
Gary's solos on Take me with you..... are just masterful.
Who could ever forget Charlie one of the best!!!
As a kid I thought Charlie Callas was great. I would laugh so much my step father got to think I was mental. He asked me if I was so deranged as to think Callas was funny.
Must be blocked... No picture

Comedy has really improved since this. Boomers are idiots, of course they find this funny
Fun fact: every person in the laughing audience was a racist.

Excellent!
Beautiful! Vaughn 🎺
Charlie Callas voice Elliott the Dragon in Pete's Dragon.
One of my favorites.!👍😁🇨🇺🇺🇸
No Karen?
Good sound.Good instrument performers.They are, quite good.👍😁
6 killer trumpet players is a bit extravagant… At the same time, I’m a big fan of extravagance!
No Mark Olson .
Way better than Maynard Ferguson's version , imo
Was porky pig based on his voice??
This is and always has been a top 10 recording of all time for me. I've sung the horn lines and played (tried to play) piano through it 1000 times. Just insanely good. The perfect match to this is, of course, Intimacy of the Blues.
At the end when he shoots 90 birds the first on should ask him how he done it. He said - I aim for the one in the middle!!😊
2:00 , Clark Terry 😂❤
I am surprised people hear country in their music. I hear 70's singer/songwriter. Unbelievably great band that I just saw for the first time two weeks ago. Cannot stop listening to them!
Remember the guy dancing at the Cincinnati zoo in 110°? That was me! I'd actually be an excellent addition. I play 4 instruments extremely well, and two poorly.
Columbus Zoo or Cincinnati Zoo?
@@kevinl8013 Cincinnati, as the comment stated.
@@SquiggyWigginz Cool. Didn't realize they played Columbus and Cincy zoos! I should have gone to both...
One of my favorore Louie Bellson albums , along with "150mph"
1:05 , 2:30 , 3:10 , 4:40
He was a really funny guy who no mentions any more. Another one was Ronnie Shell
I love this band. Greetings from Brazil.
Charlie Callas was brilliant. His telephone comedy routines were basically exaggerated versions of Bob Newharts telephone routines. Both Bob and Charlie are brilliant. Also, Charlie sounds very similar to Lenny Bruce in terms of his voice. Bob had me fall of my chair laughing when i was young. Don Rickles lacked any intelligent structure in his comedy and was just an average joke teller Rodney Dangerfield would destroy Don Rickles in a joke telling contest.
Charlie was one of a kind. We are still blessed to have him.
Brilliantly talented. This skit would be banned and protested today.
Shit
If it's the Merv show I'm thinking of, Charlie must have followed Brother Theodore. The opening "German" accent was a dig on Theodore who had badly provoked Jerry Lewis.
Never saw his routines, just his acting roles on TV. This was very funny!
Did anyone actually ever think this third-rate crap was funny??? Garbage😂
1965 I was 15 and TV didn't stay on all day and you only had a few channels to watch on a B&W TV. Comedy was silly but funny. Just look at how everyone adored Red Skelton and the characters he did. If you can remember the 60's --- you weren't there.
