@@PetermanGet I haven’t unfortunately, I have been told that sometimes the firmware has an effect on whether some pads work or not too. It didn’t work for him then he updated the firmware then it did! I think it will be a big hit and miss until all bugs are ironed out.

By lock broke do you mean the small tab on the actual card? normally only see those on the full size as cards.

I don’t think so, it would need drivers to be installed etc. There was a quick shot witless pad back in the day that worked on infa-red. The pad took AA batteries and there was a receiver that did the same and plugged into the joystick port. Would need a 9 pin(I think) adapter to usb and I think it’d work. Long winded way of doing it but would be cool!

The controller he said was a PS2 controller in the video here at 2:55 was actually a PS3 dual shock 3 pad.

@@nomore6167 True, if they’ve been left for ages then they’ll need chemically unblocking however cleaning through so many cycles worked for me and cleared the heads completely, sometimes repetition works. Before I would have maybe given up but I could see improvements will every cycle so was worth sticking at it until it was clear. If no improvements after a few cycles then yes, would agree totally blocked 👍

@MrNot2Techy I've had printers that have taken 10-11 print cleanings before, with slight improvements after each, but I'm dealing with one now that isn't getting any better, even after 10 cleanings (it's actually worse than before I did the first cleaning). I was told the printer is used only about once per month, and there's still ink in the cartridges (they haven't dried up). The print heads SHOULD never get clogged until the ink cartridges run dry, since all Brother printers I've seen do a self-clean every day, pulling ink through the printheads (which is why you go through so much ink, even if you never print anything), but yet, they do. I'm reminded of the HP DeskJet printer I had back in 1993 or so, which never clogged and didn't waste ink every day like these modern printers.

@ just from what I remember working for curry’s many moons ago was with the HP printers you got a new print head with every ink cartridge, don’t recall if it was every one or only certain ones but that might have had something to do with it haha, you obviously know your stuff too! 👍

@@rameensuleman7403 hi could be a few different things including as you say bad contacts, a software glitch, read write error or even a faulty card, give it a go and see how you get on.

@MrNot2Techy I went exactly according to your instructions but unfortunately the same "card error" reappeared afterwards. I'm gonna try to order another memory card jack for it, hopefully that should resolve it because the current one's way too old. Really want this camera to work 🥹

@@rameensuleman7403 yeah could be a faulty card, fingers crossed for you, have you tried the card in a card reader on a computer yet? Is it able to read the card from that?

@@oceanaAntonietti the fine pix a900 takes AA batteries so any micas or AA nimh batteries will work with the relevant AA battery charger

Which brand, and when you say X series, are you referring to X-box 360?

@@m43user yes bluefox9er tried with a wired Xbox 360 pad and confirmed that worked. The one I was trying was the wireless one from the x box one seriesX which didn’t, looks like it was merely charging the pad up 😳

@MrNot2Techy One thing to try. Be sure you are using a full USB data cable and not just a power cable. If the D+ and D- connections are missing, it cannot possibly work.

@@Interceptorslair Hi, cheers for watching, the analogue thumbsticks did work but just in the same way the d pad does (so no analogue pressure to speed feel as intended) I did find myself using them over the d pad anyway on wheelie. Not sure if they’d work on ever game, it’s a bit of hit and miss with some games working and some others need calibrating a bit. Remember re-configuring all my games to QAOPM before I’d play them back in the day!

@@Interceptorslair the most consistent pad is the third party wired usb Red Giotek vx4 controller in the vid, just seems to work flawlessly every time. Although I am in the lookout for a retro 80s joystick or quick shot pad

@MrNot2Techy That's great. Thanks for your reply. I think the problem you had with the Xbox 360 controller is that they only work wirelessly even when plugged in with a cable. I found this out recently when I tried to use one on my laptop to play a game. I switched to a wired 360 controller and that worked fine. I'm going to give the wired controller a whirl with my Spectrum when I open it at Christmas. I'm relieved to hear the sticks work. I think I'd favour using them for most games over the D-Pad. Cheers!

@MrNot2Techy Thanks. I am on The latest version 1.0.2, and have a SeriesX X-Box wireless controller (with USB cable), that I can't get to work, so I am looking at buying something else. The Retro controllers are hard to find.

@@WoolyChewbakker I’m going to have a good play around with a few controllers, really want an old quick shot joystick via an adaptor, that’s the plan. Recently sold a powerplay cruiser multicoloured which I should have kept for this!

@@bellissimo4520 Totally agree, there have been others but none have ‘looked the part’ and that’s a big deal for fans. Not quite sure my kids will share my excitement playing games on it! Haha

@@u4ia_fubar_75 The Wall, probably the very first game I ever played on my 16k spectrum back in the 80s. I had a black and white TV in my bedroom at the time too!

None of them took an hour, even 128 games were never much over 15 mins, most with fast loaders were 2 to 8 mins.

@@theeko5317 have you tried not removing the sd card from the camera and connecting the camera to the computer using the usb cable?

@@MrNot2Techy I tried connecting with a cable but my pc didnt recognize anything. Then, I formatted the USB as NTFS and plugged it in after blowing into the card socket -blowing into like NES cartridges- then I got "Card not initiliazed" error, so I formatted the card from the camera and it worked. In several other occasions I again got Card Error error and when I blowed into card socket it got fixed. Like probably it is placebo that blowing into socket makes it work but this was my experience.

@@theeko5317 could just be a case of the card is on its way out or has some intermittent toc error. Is the card a new one or one you have had for a while?

@@richardsiviter9000 Note sure exactly why, best thing you can do is to take it apart and give it a good clean and ensure filters aren’t blocked etc. These are great value for money but that also means they’re kind of disposable if the motor is wearing out etc as it’d be cheaper to replace it unfortunately.

@@aylinagah so, normally there will be some debris in the mechanism that’s causing the cogs not to run smoothly. I have fixed this before by applying light pressure in various directions to kind of push past the obstruction. Switch on the camera lightly stopping the zoom to extend, if that doesn’t work do the opposite slightly pulling on the zoom lens and lightly from the left then right. BEWARE! this can make things worse too!!! But if it’s a slightly older or inexpensive camera it’s worth a shot isn’t it it? I’ve taken apart the odd camera to resolve this but the parts clips and springs are so tiny it’s very easy to get wrong and better in the hands of the manufacturer if you can stomach their charges, only you can answer that uf it makes economical sense or not. If it was me I’d be giving a shot!

@@d_t it should go in at quite an angle front side up and without any internal note or coin tray inserted. Should then drop into place when the wheel of the tray has cleared the wheels on the register

@@mwpink if you google as card reader there are a couple of types. Best one to get is some type of sub multi card reader, they’re not expensive. Slide the card into the reader, plug in the other side and it SHOULD read the card if it is not corrupt.

@@ftapser Hi, thanks for watching, please subscribe ;) for the JX420 you will need a standard non all singing dancing card. A standard 2gb Non HC (HIGH CAPACITY) Card will be fine and will give a minimum of 240 photographs in its highest setting. Up to 3000 in its lowest setting. You can pick them up on eBay, are you from the UK as we have some for sale here in the UK.

@@ftapser You should be ok with a HC card just not a very fancy one like a UHS card. A 2gb Non HC card will 100% work. Just didn't want to advise a HC for just a 'should work'

Nothing wrong with mine but ocd in me wanted to clean it throughly. Rather than the blue bag think ill buy the proper filter that apparently fits these. Regards that little black foam filter. Ive just managed to remove it. Theres a tab holding it in need to lift up with something like screwdriver. Even then the filter is wedged in tight so once tab up give it few taps with screwdriver and your hand. I can imagine it could easily break as well so not recommended.

not familiar with the redmi 8a unfortunately, did you try removing the sim card, cleaning and re-boot the phone, this actually worked for my phone. Please subscribe if you liked the speed of the answer!

@@karenreynoso9212 I would stick with a 32gb card, cannot find a source that confirms a 64gb card will work. A 32gb SD or sdhc will be fine.

@@gorkemdikmen4155 I would go with a card that IS NOT a UHS-I card. Go with a standard SD (or micro in adaptor) or a SDHC (or micro SDHC in adaptor) anything more advanced than those and the camera may fail to read it.
