Left hand killing it. Excellent job!
i love the snare motif
Like ittt
We love the cowbell
Nice build up solid 10/10 Keep it up mate Nice job
This just made my day
Bro got the combo of '24
Great work my friend
Loving the use of the toms Nice groove
I love the combo I can definitely feel the time, effort and emotion put into this Well done
Thank you very much. That means a lot. Danny was a friend from way back. He was one of the first people to encourage me to play the drums and we played together all throughout highschool. He died this year. I was playing while thinking of him. I didn't want to stop playing. Which is why that final groove goes on so long. Stopping felt like admitting he was gone.
@@GeorgeHuttonDrums I know how u feel Mate I'm still in my high-school years and even though I'm a guitarist I know some drum parts I know how much opening up through music can be We're here for👍🎶
.20 sec whitch rudiment
It's combinations of R l l and r r L - improvised. I use it several times in this solo :)
Dope
Thanks so much!!!
Sweet! Love the toms, so musical.
Thank you very very much :) This one was done amidst a mad day's teaching. My head wasn't quite with it so let my hands and feet do all the work...
Nice & gentle👍🥁👍
thanks a lot!! I was feeling knackered after an intense morning's teaching...
Everything is so harmonic
Thank you!!!! That description warmed my soul.
Your snare sounds beautiful; what kind is it?
Thank you! It's Mapex M series snare - nothing too flash. Just tuned up sweetly with a brand new head :) Thanks for the watch and comment buddy.
Great job. Lots of nice textures.
Thanks so much buddy!!
Noice! Is there any chance you could share the sticking of the fill at 0:38 please?
Sure thing, it starts on the and of beat 4 and it's all played as sextuplets until the last R hand which is an 8th note. The buzz is on beat 4 of the second bar of the phrase and is played with the right stick. Capital = accent / small letter = ghost/quieter note. I've grouped it in to beats. R l l, R l l r r L, R l l r r L, R l l r r L, R l l r r L, R l l R l l, r r L R l l, r r L R , buzzzzzzz It's an improvised flow of two sticking groups - R l l and r r L - if you can move between them in an improvised way, with smooth dynamics, you can make some really really cool sounding patterns up in the moment!! I'd recommend getting really good at those two stickings and seeing what you can do with them! Hope I explained everything ok :)
What series is the sabian cymbal? Nice playing! Love your flow
Thank you so much! This is the Fierce ride. This one is the jojomayer signature ride from back in the day, it's now in the HHX range I beleive. It's a beaut!!
How do you mic these videos?
This is all done through the zoom q2n-4k video recorder with built in mics. It's an incredible piece of kit!!!
Bro can u do 16th notes?
Yeah bud. Check out excerpt from 23/04/24!!! 32nd notes in there as well :)
@@GeorgeHuttonDrums nice bro I'll check it out in a min Keep up the good work mate🤘
👍🦻👍
Thaaaaaaanks budddy!
Funky @$$!
Thanks a lot buddy!
Clean kick
Thanks a lot bud!!
Brrrrr,tatata🎉🥁👍🥁
Hahaha, love it!
Nice sound man, join a band already
Haha, thanks man!! I used to play in tons of bands but decided to focus on my own music and teaching. I also do recording projects with friends.
Super sweet!!!
Thanks bro!!!!
The way your solos are structured you’ve got to be a composer as well right?
I am indeed. Good spot, haha! I've got some music coming out soon-ish actually.
what teachers/books have you felt you got the most from? sounds gorgeous
Thank you! My first drum teacher had/has a huge impact on me. Local to my area and has produced a lot of incredible musicians. I was lucky to have some brilliant lecturers at university too that really widened my scope and ear. Books wise - all the Garibaldi stuff for sure. Stone's "Stick Control" and "Accents and Rebounds".... Mark Guiliana's book is great as well. All of the Chaffee books need a mention, in particular "Sticking Patterns" - that stuff is gold!
clean af
Thanks so so much!!
Tight tight tight!
Thank you thank you thank you!!
Limbs akimbo in musical mastery!
Thanks so much!!! Limbs akimbo is a great phrase. Potential stage name?
this one's ace george - sounds so good in these little in-ear monitors of mine - when it gets to about the minute mark, when the cymbal wash has died off, the detail in the tom and kick really starts to shine through. Amazing control.
Thanks bud. Glad you like it. I remember that moment live and thinking it was good. Twas why I stayed on that soft drum and kick groove for so long. Didn't want to move off it!
@@GeorgeHuttonDrums Yeah!! I can "feel" that. So good.
omfg this one slaps all kinds of ass
Hahaha! A compliment and a half!
En mis sueños tengo batería y toco así
¡Consigue una batería y hazlo realidad, amigo! Gracias por ver y comentar.
Amazing! So much light moves! 😅
Thank you, Daniel!!
👍🥁🤩🥁👍
Thanks buddy buddy buddy!
😁
Thank you bud! I appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment on the videos! Thanks.
@@GeorgeHuttonDrums and I am impressed by your ambition to still do a solo everyday, that‘s wow! really good. Aren‘t you sometimes a bit bored or just not motivated to still do a solo?? 😊🙃
Yeah, loads of times haha. But I just take that vibe and energy in to the solo. It's turned into a diary really. Tracking my progress through the year. And not every day is a winner!
Ok I see 🙃
wow sooo cool!! such a great rhythm right heree😌😎
Thank you so much! This was a lovely one to play :)
🤩😍 sick! Do you notice a diffrence in your drum play now that you were doing und will still do a solo everyday? Like do you feel more comfortable when improvising? ^^
Thanks buddy! Yeah, I've definitely noticed a difference. I'm thinking less and allowing more. Letting the music happen naturally which is a lot more enjoyable and relaxing! I'm also focusing more of precision - making what I play more tight rhythmically. And I can hear a difference from my first solos to now... Barring the odd mistake in flow and pulse, my ideas are more accurate than before :) BUT there's still a lot more work to do and endless growth and improvement ahead!
@@GeorgeHuttonDrums that‘s really cool 😄
really cool. why is it not longer? 🥺🥺🤗
Thanks buddy!! I wanted this one to end unexpectedly. Sorry!!! But, there's a phrase in showbiz - "always leave them wanting more"
@@GeorgeHuttonDrums 😅 yeah fairrr
have i only just noticed this different deeper snare come into the fold - where's the snappy little fire cracker gone??
That is the tight metal drum with an old head cut out from the flesh hoop (horrible phrase) placed on top. Turns it into a big fat disco snare instantly. Pro tip!
@@GeorgeHuttonDrums whoah - unrecognisable. Still cool - but man, that snare in its natural state is unrivalled imo. Such a great choice.
Great solo. Excellent on the hearing protection, super important!
Thanks man! Yeah, hearing protection is so vital. I stress it time and time again in my lessons.
Very novel, playing the drums with two make up brushes
Hahaha. Two birds one stone! I make noise, they look pretty!
Nice drum solo🥁🤩🥁
Thanks so so much!
Sticks=ear protection👍 Brushes=without
Yeah, I broadly follow this rule too :)
That was awesome. Very creative
Thank you very much! I appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment.
I wanted to ask you before actually but are you wearing ear protection? Drumming for hours and hours is my main reason for tinnitus.
Ah man. I'm sorry to hear about the tinnitus. Are you able to work around it? I use hearing protection all the time - in my practice room, teaching room and at gigs (watching and playing).
Nicely done! I always love the tones your kit has and the way you interpret them!
Thanks so much bro. Really appreciate it :)
Your good i used to do drumming with my dad
Thanks buddy. That sounds cool!!
