That's a valuable video. That's how you drain the oil out of the R8.

There are 7 drain plugs on my 2014 R8 V10 (and I'd think yours too). Plug #6 is horizontal on a pipe that can be seen far to the left at 5:48. Plug #7 is vertical and very near plug #1 and is slightly larger than #1 -- Plug #1 is on the oil pump whereas Plug #7 is on the oil pan.

Thank you for the video. So I am have a 2018 and I have located four plugs, but there is nothing in front of the left tire to drain on it. How many plugs are there in total 5 or 8? Any information on 2018 models? Thank you.

Why not a 5w30 oil ?

4:59 - I am doing my 2012 V10 oil and the first plug hardly had any oil. The second and third had most of it. Weird. Plus my bolt sized are different.

Where do you fill oil ? Do you fill oil in the same cap that has dipstick ?

Same for the 2010 V10 (not Plus)?

I have a 2018 R8 Plus; should I use the Audi Sport dealer to change my oil or find a private specialty shop to accomplish oil changes etc.? Thanks in advance for the advice!

Thanks, this will help with my 1st Gallardo oil change. I would recommend taking the filler cap off 1st as well though. One other thing ; run a can of seafom the day before and drive it to remove deposits.

Well, it‘s better to loose the oilfiltercap before opening any drainplug underneath, because the dirty old oil in the filterhousing run‘s down in the pan by opening the cap! In this case you have almost one liter old oil in the fresh oil...

That was a lot of work to change the oil 🤦‍♂️

Thanks for the guide, my parents have a RS6 2008, and even if you drain the oil in this brutal engine you're not getting all oil out there is almost 1-2 liter left :).My dad and i have thought about doing it self and not go to the Audi dealer. But you must know what you're doing :)

What kind of oil to use in a v10 Audi R8 2010?

they put all these oil drains on the engine and hope for owners goes to a normal garage and miss just one drain plug bye bye warenty im a BMW mec and just had a mb e63 in my shop for oil change and battery change i called my friend that is a mb mec and he told me not to miss the drain at the oil cooler and battery change just remember to back up the system with a external battery or you wil have all the lights in the combi instrument on and you have to go to mb dealer and spend a lot of Money

Any engine designer that comes up with 7 plugs to drain an engine should not be designing anything, I own Porsches and they also have dry sump systems, only have to deal with 2 plugs. I was seriously thinking of getting an R8, but after seeing this I have to give it a second thought.

The v10 R8 is a Lamborghini engine. Audi covers the logo on the engine block with an epoxy type coating.

dude whats with the details? its not like this a honda or a ford that most people have. just show us the oil change and thats fine.
