Sleep in the day, move at night. Look like you are suffering when not. Learn to place supplies in hidden drops at locations with lots of cover, grass and dark corners are great, but make sure to mark them. Also stuffing your clothes with needed hiden gear will help to keep you warm by creating air spaces that your body heat can warm. Look for objects to use as weapons or tools. I find this unreal. I lived in Hawaii in the 1970's and EVERYTHING is shipped in. The Longshoremen went on shipping strikes a few times for lengthy periods of times and NO riots, civil unrest or looting occurred at all. You make this east coast shipping strike sounds like the end of America, if not this case, then it's the US Presidential election results....which worries me a lot more than a shipping strike....and before you answer, I have prepped already. You cannot ask for "larger prescription amounts" for myself and my wife, they are strict and follow the RX instructions in my state.

I was in the UK when the Lorry drivers went on strike. They blocked the ports with parked trucks. You could get 10 gallons of gas every 3 days. We had to change our work schedules to car pool. Being on base food was flown in. Still not any fun

I have ZERO sympathy for the strikers. They make lots more than the average plus have amazing benefits. They should lose their jobs.

I am trying to think about what foreign goods I buy on a regular basis that I do not have stockpiled. Sugar? No, I have at least 20 lbs stored. Coffee? No, in addition to five 30-count boxes of k-cups, we have at least 12 jars of instant coffee. Clothing? No, everyone in our household has more clothing than will fit in our closets and drawers. The excess is stored in lawn trash bags in a spare room. Shoes? No, we have extra shoes and boots we have not yet worn. Okay, how about bananas? We have some #10 cans of sliced dried bananas. How about mangoes? No. We have #10 cans of sliced dried mangoes. How about French perfume? No, still have plenty of that too. Ditto for bottles of rum shipped from Puerto Rico. How about chocolate candies and desserts? No, we have packaged Dutch processed cocoa powder in Mylar along with oxygen absorbers. Also have some #10 cans of chcolate raspberry dessert mix in the long term food storage. Sure, prices of all goods may go up if buyers turn to domestic goods if they can not get foreign goods. But that will hit the poor the hardest. Our household is also financially prepared for higher prices as part of being prepared for whatever may happen next. If we want something we do not have stockpiled and is imported, we may have to shop for it at Costco or Sams Club to get a better price.
