      Nominally it was by the Congress of Berlin, but in practice the last independent tribes were only conquered in some places in the 1920s and 1930s. The Senusids were conquered entirely in 1931 by Mussolini or some tribes and the Zayan confederation in Morocco in 1934 by France and Spain.

      You are also wrong about the part about Nazism! The Germans were responsible for the government in their own country and no one else! The Nazi government did not install any foreign power in this country. Only this nation was responsible for this and the harsh Peace Treaty is certainly no excuse for it. The Germans themselves forced a harsh peace treaty on the French. Is that why they brought a Nazi government to power in their country? No, they have developed a democracy in their country! So a nation certainly doesn't have to bring the Nazis to power because of desperation. But because of pure malice the Nazis were brought to power, which you are even right about. Greed was also the reason why the Nazis were brought to power. Because they expected that they would get prey. At first they profited from the deprivation and disenfranchisement of the Jews. The competition was gone. The Jews were robbed of their property and sold to the population very cheaply. It is estimated that almost every German household had items from such sales. Then various European countries should be occupied and robbed from which the population should also benefit. Food from the occupied countries was robbed to feed them. They did not have to starve during the war as long as their army occupied the countries. The population was supplied with various robbed goods from the occupied lands. Yes, the Nazi government kept its promise of loot as long as the army was victorious. But as long as the victorious powers made sure that the Germans kept the Treaty of Versailles and only had an army of 100,000 men, raids on European countries were not possible.German army was limited to 100,000 men. So what? That didn't harm the Germans and was certainly not a reason for Nazism! Hyperinflation is also no excuse for a Nazi regime. There was hyperinflation in many countries and no nation developed Nazism and brought a Nazi government to power. The Rhineland occupation was also definitely not a reason to bring a Nazi government to power. Despite the occupation, the Rhineland was managed by the Germans and the Germans received the tax revenue. Besides that the occupation of the Rhineland ended on 30 June 1930, five years earlier than originally set down in the Treaty of Versailles. The Rhineland was only supposed to remain demilitarized, which was no harm to the Germans. By the way, the Lausanne Conference in 1932 marked the de facto end of Germany's reparations payments. Nevertheless, they brought the Nazis to power one year later! The Germans themselves were responsible for the socialist rebellions and that was no reason to bring the Nazis to power in the state. Nazi SA was definitely not a progress and the communist uprisings were not put down by the SA but by the army and the Freikorps. At the beginning of the 20s, when there were communist unrest, the SA had far too few members to be relevant at all. Thus, Germans were responsible for these troops as well as for the party and government that organized them. The vast majority of Germans were responsible for this, just as the vast majority of French were responsible for Napoleon although the comparison is of course absurd. White Rose and German Catholic anti-Nazi movement were only tiny resistance, because there was hardly any resistance, because the vast majority were supporters and followers of the Nazi government, thus they were Nazis. The vast majority is always decisive!

      Moreover Nazism with a Nazi government was certainly not possible in every country and therefore could not happen in every country. There was a red line, a German special way. This ideology did not fall from the sky. That was just the continuation of German thought! Nazism was the logical consequence of previous thinking! The seed of Nazism was already in the monarchy! The ideology did not fall from the sky, it was developed step by step. The beginnings are already evident in the 19th century. The aspect of the Nazi ideology of living space in the East was also developed in the 19th century, which then led to the various genocides of various Slavic nations. Also in the First World War there were already clearly formed structures that can be called forerunners of Nazism. The Upper East (Ober Ost) was the forerunner of the genocide General Plan East (Generalplan Ost). A kind of blueprint! In Upper East one could already see in 1916 that they would develop the Nazism! The master race should have had the command! The locals should only be the executors of so-called German labor. They waged the war already barbarically and criminally from 1914 onwards which was then greatly increased in the next Nazi war. People in the Upper East territories were forced into forced labor. There were travel restrictions to better control people. One was not allowed to move between districts, which destroyed the livelihoods of many merchants and prevented locals from visiting friends and relatives in neighboring districts. The railway was allowed to be used almost exclusively by Germans. School lessons were reduced and restricted. After the war, the Upper East territories were to be settled by Germans. That's why a large part of the locals should be expelled and only those who should serve the masters should stay. This was then done in the conquered areas in the East during the Second War so that the indigenous population was to be exterminated. It was planned to exterminate the population of various Slavic nations in order to create space for the settlers of the Nazi nation, although the plans for extermination have already been partially realized. The Jews should also be exterminated. The genocides were also carried out in death camps using industrial means, which is a completely unprecedented barbarity in human history. In order to realize these plans, various European countries were raided. All of this in a very short time. It wasn't just anisemiism that led to only one genocide, but various other genocides were carried out. Furthermore, in other countries anti-Semitism has not led to attempts to carry out a genocide. Nazism with industrial genocides with additional raids against various European nations could not occur in other countries. Only this one nation was capable of that! History shows that too! This limitless barbarism and cruelty, there was nothing like this before or after!

      Most of it was not controlled by Italy yet, but by local tribes from the Fezzan and a good part by the Senussi Order, a Sufi Muslim order. This order took advantage of the war and invaded almost all of the Italian domain in the north, much of British Egypt and a little of French Tunisia. They would only be defeated and annexed in 1931, when Mussolini had already been in power for almost 10 years. In my WW2 Africa video I show a little of this annexation, but there is much more detail on the "Arsha" channel.

    @GreatPolishWingedHussars หลายเดือนก่อน

    The video is well done with the maps showing all the major war zones. But one should not forget who caused this war. Austria and Germany were Eurpas powder keg in 1914, because the Germans and the Austrians were responsible for the First World War. They were the aggressors in 1914! The imperialism of them led to World War I. There is no doubt that France, Brits and Russia were imperialist but their imperialism did not cause World War I. They were of the opinion that they have too small territories compared to this great powers. They want to expand their sphere of power on cost of others states. But the problem was that this states attacked by them were allied with each other. This led to a chain reaction that ended with a big war. So World War 1 started because they wanted to gain territories through this war! With a victory against Russia the Germans wanted to force Russia to cede large territories in Europe to Germany and France was to be forced to cede large parts of the African colonies to them through a defeat. The Treaty of Brest-Litovsk to which the Germans forced the Bolsheviks after the victory show why they waged this war. Russia lost 26% of its European territory, 27% of the arable land, 26% of the rail network, 73% of the coal mines, 73% of the iron industry and 33% of the textile industry. All areas to be ceded included 1/3 of the total population of the former Russian Empire. (more than 60 millions) The Bolsheviks were forced to pay six billion gold marks of reparation to Germany. The Austrians, on the other hand, wanted to conquer more of the Balkans. After they got Croatia and Slovenia in earlier times, they also wanted to conquer most of the rest of the Balkans. The first step was to conquer Bosnia and Herzegovina even before the First World War! Therefore, they waged a bloody war against Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the inhabitants of Bosnia and Herzegovina offering bitter resistance. After they victoriously occupied the country, the population continued to offer bitter resistance which they tried to put down bloodily. Part of the resistance was also the assassination on the future monarchical dictator Franz Ferdinand and future oppressor. Because the freedom fighter who carried out the assassination was a Bosnian Serb Austria wanted to use this as a pretext for raiding Serbia. Even though there was no evidence that the Serbian government was involved in the assassination Austria issued an unacceptable ultimatum to Serbia. They expected that Serbia would not fulfill the ultimatum and therefore they would then have a reason for war. But to the great surprise of them the Serbs actually fulfilled almost the entire ultimatum, which was actually considered impossible to fulfill. That's why the German monarch Wilhelm II himself stated that they actually had no reason for war against Serbia. That's why they looked for a better reason. The message of an armed banter, which had been triggered by the shelling of Austrian troops against Serbian steamers near Temes Kubin on the Danube, was then the reason that was looking for and the Serbs were accused of starting hostilities. The armed banter was then exaggerated into a battle and Interpreted as an actual opening of the fighting by Serbia and the alleged battle was expressly mentioned as a reason for war in the declaration of war by Austrian monarch. At that time they knew that Serbia had not started hostilities. Nevertheless, Austria attacked Serbia without reason for war and the Germans backed them. Which is why they are also responsible for this war. Because without this backing, Austria would not have dared to attack Serbia, which was allied with Russia. The Germans also needed a reason for war! The aircraft of Nuremberg was then the reason that they looking for! The aircraft of Nuremberg refers to a newspaper hoax in which one or several French aircraft allegedly dropped bombs near Nuremberg, on August 2, 1914, only one day prior to Germany's declaration of war on France. The story seems to have suited the German agenda. On August 2 the Bavarian military plenipotentiary in Berlin reported to Munich: "Welcoming news of a bombing at Nuremberg by French aircraft has arrived from our III. Army Command. Without even waiting for a diplomatic act the Ministry of War and the General Staff now have declared France an enemy." Because of this alleged air raid, war was then declared on France! They even simply raided Belgium in 1914 without pretext! In summary explained! This is how you behave when you want war! You construct reasons for war. Additionally the Germans are particularly responsible because the Austrians would never have dared to attack Serbia, which is an ally of Russia, without German backing. The German assurance of support in the war against Serbia and Russia is called the "blank cheque" for the war. Because the Austrians were assured of support regardless of whether the war escalated into a war against Russia and thus also against France, which was allied with Russia. So they saw this chain reaction that would lead to a big war and they still gave the Austrians this "blank cheque" to attack Serbia. This is how one behaves when one wants to provoke a war and all that also shows who wanted the war and who was responsible for this war. Those were the Germans and the Austrians! But what bad luck they lost the war and instead of gaining territory there were immense losses of territory for both. They also wanted to force the countries they wanted to defeat to pay significant reparations and were instead forced to pay reparations even after they were defeated. They then self-righteously complained about how harshly they were treated after the defeat. As if they had treated the defeated enemies differently.

    • @GreatPolishWingedHussars
      @GreatPolishWingedHussars หลายเดือนก่อน

      Because I'm talking about bad luck and I'm Polish. What very few people know, this war was also extremely bad luck for the Poles. Poland was considerably damaged and ruined by the First World War. The front rolled over Polish territory several times! Much of the heavy fighting on the war's Eastern Front took place on Polish territories. Large areas were deliberately devastated by the scorched-earth retreat strategies which left much of the war zone uninhabitable with it towns and villages were destroyed. The economic damages were extreme! Also many Poles died as a result of this war. 450,000 Polish soldiers who were forced to fight for the occupiers died and almost a million were wounded. In addition, 678,000 Polish civilians died as a result of this war. There were raids in which Poles were captured for forced labor in Germany. The working and living conditions of the forced laborers were very poor. This weakened the Polish population additionally. The Polish territories conquered by the German army were also looted, including the robbery of entire factories. There were also massacres of civilians such as on 2 August 1914 the massacre of Kalisz (before that Russian-occupied). The town was burnt down! The German soldiers took polish hostages, mistreating them and even killing them so a significant number of citizens were murdered with many women and children. Prior to the war, Kalisz had 65,000 inhabitants. Afterwards, it was left with 5,000 inhabitants. About 1 million Polish refugees fled during the war. As a result of the death and deportation, the number of persons living in the later Second Polish Republic fell by 14.9%. In thie war about 30% of national wealth in Poland was destroyed. And from this pile of rubble, which was also divided into 3 parts by the occupiers, the Poles had to rebuild a state. Poland was occupied by Russians, Austrians and Germans for over 100 years. So after the occupiers were driven out Poland was reunited from 3 parts and from 3 different parts had to be developed a united state! Therefore, Poland had to combine the 3 completely different legal, economic and administrative systems into one whole. So there had to be a unification of 3 different currencies with 3 different banking systems, 3 different legal systems and 3 types of rail systems with different track widths. 3 banking systems, 3 education systems. Also the new Polish army must also be assembled from 3 different armies. There were 3 of everything etc, etc, etc....3, 3, 3. Everything was available 3 times and had to be combined to a unit. So it is not surprising that because of the enormous devastation caused by the war and because the state was rebuilt from three completely different parts there were immense and massive economic problems. In Poland was also in 1923 even a hyperinflation. But this hyperinflation was successfully combated. By the way, in this situation Poland won several wars caused by the fact that virtually all Polish borders were disputed. Poland won this various wars despite the fact that the Polish army had huge problems because the Polish army emerged from the 3 armies of the former occupiers of Poland. So the Polish army had weapons and equipment from these 3 armies. In addition, weapons were also imported from abroad. But Poland also produced its own weapons and equipment in this war. So the Polish Army used rifles manufactured in six countries, each using different ammunition. It was no different with artillery.Nevertheless, the Polish army was victorious! But the war in which Poland was victorious in a heroic war in 1919 - 21 against the Bolsheviks was not only a border conflict, but also the prevention of the conquest of Poland by the communists. The outcome of the war was not only important for Poland, but for the whole of Europe. The defeat of the Red Army in the decisive battle of Warsaw was able to stop the advance of communism to the west, so that the Bolsheviks had to give up its hopes of exporting the world revolution via the "corpse of Poland" to Western Europe for the time being. Lord Edgar Vincent D’Abernon, an English diplomat and a member of the Interallied Mission to Poland who witnessed this war, described in his book titled "The Eighteenth Decisive Battle of the World. The modern history of civilisation knows but few events of greater importance than that of the Battle of Warsaw of 1920. And it knows of none other which would be so little valued…" But not only the victories in various wars were great successes but also it was a great achievement of the Poles to build a functioning state from 3 different parts. (The German reunification is nothing against it!) So it should be noted that Poland was not only victorious in wars, but also has achieved great successes in industrialization. After this wars, Poland combined the 3 parts into one country surprisingly quickly and caught up on industrialization in a very short time, that was necessary because Poland had hardly any industry when gained independence in 1918 and was completely backwards due to more than 100 years of enemy occupation. So Poland has also built up an industry in no time! Most factories that existed before the war which weren't many anyway were partially destroyed or robbed. In any case, Poland has built up various branches of industry. Airplanes, cars and locomotives were built in Poland. But also various weapons such as tanks, artillery and combat planes. These goods produced in Poland were of course also exported. Which actually was a mistake. Poland would have needed all the weapons for its own army. But Poland felt safe because Poles mistook the British and French as reliable allies. But the betrayal in 1939 of these supposed allies is another topic. Poland was also a democracy before the war! But as is often the case with democracies in the development phase, there were problems, but Poland remained a parliamentary democracy until the German raid on Poland. But all the successes were destroyed because of the German raid in 1939! The Germans then gave the Poles also over almost 50 years of Soviet rule. Without the Germans, there would have been no Soviet system in Poland! But that's another topic! Also that they still don't want to pay compensation.

      @@GreatPolishWingedHussars Thank you for the valuable information, it is very important. Nationalism and the dispute over colonies were obviously a major factor in the outbreak of war, but not the only one. As in every war, the first thing to die is the truth, and WW1 was special in this sense due to the number of secret agreements made between countries for the future division of territories, such as the Balfour Declaration or the Sykes-Picot Agreement. American President Woodrow Wilson always said that the main goal was always to overthrow Austria-Hungary, the last Catholic monarchy in the world. Although the Central Powers had their many flaws, they were the right side in the war, since their defeat generated enormous global chaos, which led to WW2 and which we still feel today. Regarding Poland, I think few nations have suffered as much in history as Poland. Maybe since the Deluge, which is one that is actually on my list of future projects, or even before that by the Mongols and Teutons. But the Poles are very brave and never give in. Do you mind if I pin your comment?

      @@polishguy1611 Wrong! Because historical facts contradict your claim! It is a historical fact that ONLY the Germans and the Austrians were jointly responsible for this war. The Bosnian Serb Gavrilo Princip was a resistance fighter who fought a completely justified resistance against the occupiers of his homeland! I would have done the same if this next prospective dictator had shown up in occupied Poland. The reason for that war was not because the Bosnian Serb resistance fighters Gavrilo Princip assassinated the prospective coming dictatorial monarch Franz Ferdinand. But this assassination wasn't enough for the Austrians as a reason for war. Because Serbia's involvement in the assassination was not proven in 1914. The Serbs also actually fulfilled almost the entire ultimatum of the Austrians, which was actually considered impossible to fulfill. That's why the German monarch Wilhelm II. himself determined that the Austrians actually had no reason for war against Serbia. That's why the Austrians looked for a reason. At the latest on July 28 1914, and in any case before the declaration of war was sent, it was announced that this alleged battle was a hoax. Nevertheless, Austria attacked Serbia without reason for war and the Germans backed the Austrians. Which is why they are also responsible for this war. Because without this backing, Austria would not have dared to attack Serbia, which was allied with Russia. The Germans also wanted absolutely to find a reason for war! The aircraft of Nuremberg was then the reason that they looking for! The aircraft of Nuremberg refers to a media hoax in which one or several French aircraft allegedly dropped bombs near Nuremberg, Germany on August 2, 1914, only one day prior to Germany's declaration of war on France. The story seems to have suited the General Staff's agenda. On August 2 the Bavarian military plenipotentiary in Berlin reported to Munich: "Welcoming news of a bombing at Nuremberg by French aircraft has arrived from our III. Army Command. Without even waiting for a diplomatic act the Ministry of War and the General Staff now have declared France an enemy." By the way they even simply raided Belgium in 1914 without pretext! In summary explained! In summary explained! This is how you behave when you want war! You construct reasons for war. The Germans are particularly responsible because the Austrians would never have dared to attack Serbia, which is an ally of Russia, without German backing. The German assurance of support in the war against Serbia and Russia is called a "blank cheque" for the war. Because the Austrians were assured of support regardless of whether the war escalated into a war against Russia and thus also against France, which was allied with Russia. So they saw this chain reaction that would lead to a big war and the Germans still gave the Austrians this "blank cheque" to attack Serbia. This war against the French should be worthwhile for Germany anyway, because after a victory that they megalomaniacally expected, the Germans expected cessions of colonies from the defeated French, and they wanted large territories in Europe as booty from the Russians. The Austrians also wanted to gain territories because they actually wanted to annex a large part of the Balkans after a victory. So the Germans and Austrians started this war to gain territory. But they got exactly the opposite and lost territories. Well, bad luck! The war was prepared for a long time before 1914. Because there was already a secret German War Council in December 8, 1912, which was preparation for this war. In the War Council, additional alliances with Bulgaria and the Ottomans were decided to strengthen their own position in the planned war. It was planned that Austria would provoke a war against Serbia through aggressive actions. In this council was clear to the Germans and it was also discussed that an Austrian attack against Serbia would cause a chain reaction, so that the attack would also provoke a war against Russia, France and very probably also against Great Britain, which was considered as necessary, for to gain supremacy in Europe after a victory in this planned war. It was decided to continue arming the Navy but it was clear to those involved that they would not be able to outdo the British navy which is why it was decided to increase the production of submarines, which was intended to compensate the gap to the British. The army should also be made ready for war, which is why the largest army reinforcement in German history to date was decided. But they did not want the war to begin until two strategically important construction projects were completed. The Kiel Canal was supposed to be widened before the start of the war so that large warships could also pass through the canal. In addition, the submarine port on the North Sea island of Helgoland should be completed before the start of the war. Both construction projects were completed in 1914, so that the country was ready for war regarding this. It was also discussed how to carry out propaganda to prepare the population for such a war. There was also enough war propaganda until 1914 which is why the population was ready for war. The army was also massively armed and the navy was also ready. The consequences of this preparation for war was the beginning of the war in 1914.
