But the area has also acquired a more terrifying reputation. In 2009, 120 people died nearby at Kinglake in what's now known as the Black Saturday bushfires, and as a re...

Grand Designs 2024 - Building Modern Big House
มุมมอง 34K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
Grand Designs 2024 - Building Modern Big House Building a big house in inner city Melbourne is a tricky business stymied by heritage overlays, a lack of available space and soaring property prices. But architect Annalise and project manager Kim have a plan to thwart those hurdles and turn their tiny 1850s Carlton terrace into a multi-storied modern home with a large garden and a triple car-stac...
What kind of moron does that?! Why bother posting a video of a show that means little without the audio? You'll get no subscribers from this posting! I will go find this episode elsewhere on you tube and never come back to anything you post.
Spoilt dippy hippy woman living in a dream world
When you stop sleeping in the same bed i feel a lot of the relationship is being lost from the late night talks to the cuddles and just being close to each other and your put on a sex schedule if any at all LoL the house is nice but it can't make you happy 😁😁
Nice may I have your email.
What's the deal at 34 minutes? Music but I can't hear any words? What gives?
She's right about one thing. When you're in your early 60's, NO ONE wants to clean a big house. If you're willing to keep working to have the house of your dreams, and with THOSE spectacular views, you only live once. Might as well have what makes you happy. It's not my style of house, but what they built is beautiful.
What was that cut mid sentence and switch to the horses at 36 minutes? I feel like I missed something important.
In the future, man will live in caves.
29min the audio goes wonky. ..music overturre
I feel sorry for the husband. His wife has an attitude about her.
This is going to amazing beautiful.
It would have been cheaper to hire a project manager.
I wonder if the soil on the high part of the roof is too well drained, and that's why the plant life is having a difficult time establishing? Maybe a heartier clay could be added to the soil to better hold moisture? Interesting idea, though. I'd love to see this type of home being built more often. Especially here in the US in Tornado Alley, roll down (metal or carbon fiber) shutters to protect the glass windows and garage doors. You'd be able to withstand an EF5 if the house were sunk deep enough.
Just a few minutes into it. Incredible comes to mind.
Things I have learned through experience: Always keep a bucket of water nearby in case of fire.
shes using the crutch on the wrong side.. is it some kind of bs??
Glad I read thru the comments at 15 mins in - saved myself from wasting further time. I usually like this show but not when the owners are so....🤔..... unrealistic
What's wrong with the quality of this video? 480P are you joking? Is.nor watchable...
Where's the snow? Are you stupid?
This is exactly what Im building
Good luck and congrats on your new home!
why such low res?
I would have thought they would get windows from someone that designs them for high rise buildings.
When you've got more money to burns than brains...no taste
At 3min it shows the damage from the -- In 2009, 120 people died nearby at Kinglake in what's now known as the Black Saturday bushfires. -- I'm no expert but I find it strange that a bushfire would disintegrate house to white hashes, to the ground and nothing left while the trees are still standing. --So youtube... are you going to delete this comment too???
david lowe finally wrote an end theme that doesnt sound like shit (lol)
Val is amazing
worst walkthrough I have NEVER seen
First I didn't hear anything about waterproofing the walls. Did they also insulate the inner walls? Also they could use a layer to capture water under the dirt to harvest for house use. Fit the made the walls higher they could have all pumping and electric inside with the interior built to allow access for repairs with only one or two accesses through the exterior. I am unclear how they organized that. How much did that have on changing the temperature in summer and winter compared to a normal house. Are those windows shaded to protect against the sun light, heat , and if rays?
While being completely underground is cool, there are some people that have discovered you can be partially underground, and get most of the benefits.
The concrete beams seem overkill. I built on concrete roofs, 40 years ago. Back then, there was concrete (a few inches), over which, you had a 2 inch solid insulation, then a rubber membrane, then rock. Size of the rock, did alter, based on the region. but some rock was bigger then a softball. There were also walking mats, that could be put on.
480P?
Thank you for uploading this glorious episode.
I think more houses should be built accessible for wheelchairs and walkers. As people get older or have injuries they won't have to loose their homes or remodel.
Amazing!
host is pompous and arrogant
The funniest looking building I've seen in a LONG time. Hardly 'grand'. More money then taste I'd say.
我不喜欢这个记者 但我喜欢 “土船”。这些房子是混凝土碉堡,因此不可回收。谢谢你给我看 来自南美的问候

Like it, been thing about doing this.
Why interrupt the dialogue with music?! 😡
House location underground significantly reduced fire risk.
you are forgetting it is AUSTRALIA everything wants to kill you there, bet my ass that they have the worms from Dune there also
To many squaremeters for two in my opinion … for what ? Haw far are the horses ?
Not the first time I heard that the house would be built in 10 months time. And it certainly won't be the last time. The naive confidence of homeowners never ceases to amaze me LOL 😂
Hijacking clickbait.
Missleasing thumbnail and title.
Love that house
show the dang house. second video in a row . no one wants to look at someone talking. we want to see the house.
Pity she never grew up
Why can't Australia get their cover pictures matching with the programme's that is aired. Is this a,,, down under,, thing. Look at the U K programme's.
Not sure I like the complete design but do like certain aspects of the home. I think to accomplish your dream with your soulmate is a great achievement. Best wishes to this family.
