Ooh nice hope you have a great time! I actually used an underwater camera but you can get some phone cases on Amazon. Just make sure you check the reviews and maximum depth the case works until. Just remember to breathe slowly and don’t hold your breath. Relax and enjoy it! I’m jealous you’ll have a great time.

You’ll be fine!! It was a bit of a culture shock when I first arrived but the majority of people I met were so welcoming. You’ll be the first black person some people have seen in real life so you’ll get people coming up to you to say hello in some places especially villages. I felt fine alone there tbh I’ve heard you should be careful at night in HCMC but apart from that was a great experience. I’d deffo go back

@@oeu3669 Heyyy 👋🏾👋🏾. Ah I’m so jealous you’re going, you’re going to have an amazing time!! I’m not sure if things have changed but when I crossed over to Senegal they checked my yellow fever cert because I presented it but I don’t think my friend was asked for hers. You might be able to get away with not having it. The email should be good or if possible email the company and ask for proof or something. You should be relatively safe solo in The Gambia just don’t give anyone your whatsapp number 😂. Don’t make that mistake. People will still be calling when you get back home. I think my advice when walking around in Gambia is just to say no to people kindly. There were a few cases where people would follow me and keep talking (not in a creepy way really) but once you say no a few times they get the idea. Sometimes it was to sell you things other times it was to be friends haha. I think I packed roughly one outfit per day which wasn’t enough as I didn’t factor in that I’d want to change in the evening or that I would be sweating all day because it was roasting some days. There are loads of places to buy clothes tbh. The market you can haggle the prices down, even on the beach people walk around selling clothes. The mall when I went was fairly new so although they had clothes shops it was a struggle to find stuff that would fit meaty legs haha. Serekunda market actually had loaaads of stuff but I don’t think I’d go there alone. Gambia will be great though. Quite chill vibes and nice beaches. Oh nice! That hotel was amazing. Actually thinking back I think it only had cash exchange there and I had to visit a hotel round the corner to exchange by card. There’s a few other exchange spots in the area. The Senegambia strip which is a 5 min drive away has quite a few.

Hey I didn’t encounter any problems but I only used registered taxis and visited busy public spaces alone. However everyone I did meet including taxi drivers warned me that it can get very dangerous out there and to not wear jewellery etc
