It’s one of those bots that looks great in ‘bot mode, but only okay in alt mode (with a dodgy transformation). Haven’t picked up mine in years either!
I only remember I had this guy at all, because I was going through my cupboard looking for something else and stumbled acrosd this. Actually to tell the whole truth, I stumbled acrosd Titans Return Skullcruncher too, so he may be getting a review at some point soon also!

Great review, definitely agree with you on the sculpting for the bat head, those feet aren't great in bot mode. Good review :)
Could have been something far better than it actually was. If you consider some of the other figures like Triggerhappy who came out of this line that were absolutely amazing!
@@WolfKang1 Always going to be hits and misses in any lines sadly, but yeah, Triggerhappy is an amazing figure.
@@spider-fan-uk you're absolutely right. It's just weird that alot of the figures that were not originally headmasters in the TR line surpassed those that were.
@@WolfKang1 Yeah, some of those were really weird choices, Hot Rod for one. His altmode is good, but that should have been a normal figure, not a Titan/Head Master.

@@plk53arj Thank you. If memory serves, I wrote this whilst sitting in a Market Research call centre. I looked out the window at the howling winds and the leaves falling off the tree and just went from there. I think that was about late 2003, early 2004.

I think this is the first episode where you've not been able to come up with a funny intro for Dave lol. And another crazy sized horde! What exactly were the auto cannons doing? I thought I heard a thud noise from them? Just wondered what they were actually firing? I think that's the first time I've seen the drone go offline/get that damaged. Great episode title/play on words btw, surprised how quickly they breached the base! Great episode lads!
@@spider-fan-uk we recorded eps 36 and 37 back to back with a break in between for a tea refresh. And on that break, I tried so hard to come up with an intro and just couldn't do it. Which is a shame cause a lot of Daves intros have been on the fly whilst on a tea break.
@@WolfKang1 Just one of those things, with the amount of really funny ones you've come up with over the different series, you can cut yourself a break for not doing one for this episode.

@@V-Revolticon Because we started ramping up the difficutly, I expected things to get... shall we say... heated, eventually. I was not expecting the actual result we got.i kinda feel like the game decided to punish us for the Lols.
You know, some people give G1 figures a lot of scrap for being stiff in a way of mobility compared to later figures, among other things, myself included. However, even I can tell you, even G1 had some bangers like Fortress Maximus here. Sure. Mobility on this guy is limited, but this big chonker still has a lot going for it. Kid me would have lost his dang mind getting this. lol Hell, adult me would have too. Such a wonderful entry into the line. Sweet review. Keep up the awesome. :)
@@V-Revolticon Max is a testament to dick waving and getting away with it because it's the biggest and yes a formidable toy in many regards. Apperently this toy wasn't sold in the UK initially because it failed toy safety standards in this country at the time.
All that time in the box hasn't hurt this one at all. Also, here comes RID Sideburn because it's red. Way to go, self. You made a really odd reference there. Look! A distraction! Anyway. Um. Sweet review of a classic. Keep up the awesome. :)

Looks like it's still a great figure after all these years, part of me wishes Tracks had kept this colour scheme, or had followed the Sunstreaker/Sideswipe idea and this had been his brother (or used the Road Rage name and been his sister?) That version of Red Alert was Clampdown (or Cordon). To the best of my knowledge, I've never actually seen an original Takara/Pre-Transformer toy in person, so thank you for re-doing this review so I've an idea of what one actually looks like. Really like the name and back story you gave him btw. In all honesty, the attraction can be put down to the car it's based on still being a beautiful design. Well said about the new owner getting enjoyment from having this figure in their collection btw, great review!
@@spider-fan-uk Yeh, I remember the back story I gave it years ago and when choosing to do this review, decided that it no longer mattered and I could review it simply as its intended name and function. This was the only Diaclone figure I ever owned. Unless my G1 Hound is also one as it has no identifying Hasbro markings on it.

@@blkhrtme1 Thank you! Episodes 2 and 3 are available for viewing. Episode 3 is a stand alone without a main story. I think the reason it is taking so long to get ep4 out the door is because ep3 went from script writing, to recording, to edited and uploaded in only 2 days. And as a result, I kinda burnt myself out with it. But rest assured, I am doing what I can to revive the project.

Well done for seeing this one through! I must confess I had to watch it in two parts, but it was well worth the wait. Amazing collection piece, but as a toy it doesn’t really make for much. It is more of a “look what we can do” from Hasbro/Takara. My one is in the attic, but I’ll bring him down when Jack is old enough. Til then this video has satisfied the urge. Nice one! 😁

Yeh, this one truely was one the greatest examples of preservation in my collection.
Amazing. There's something special about a G1 Fort Max that in my mind the modern Titans don't replicate - the stickers, the heft, the charm, the multitude of accesories. Although it's likely I think that because of the countless hours I spent gazing at the catalogue pictures of Fort Max as a kid. Great review, thanks for delivering on your word and well done on 1k subs.
@@tfgrandaddy Many thanks for watching! He is a wonderful toy but how much is too much? If they wasn't willing to make Scorponok the same size, why not downsize Max? That way, Spike could have still been the head in a helmet the same as Zarak and Cerebros could have been an accessory like Fast Track was. And that way, they could have taken liberties with what shown in story and final toy.
@@WolfKang1 You make a good point. I'd really like to see a Commander-class Scorponok and Fort Max in Marvel-style. Both the same size and a bit smaller.

Welcome back lads (though you've had the Divided mini-series running, I've missed the main series, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you get up to in the new version of the game, and hearing your thoughts on the changes that have been made). That big house looked a bit like it would belong to The Munsters or the Addams Family lol. "Weapons out" oooh errr! ;) Definitely worth breaking into that bunker, what a haul! That faux pas with the 4x4 still makes me laugh, and the funny mishaps with the mines, thanks for the visual reminders :D And what a start to horde night, I hope the doors in the new version of the game are stronger/last longer then they did in this version lol. Time to rename yourselves WolfFail1 and Fail619 lol, what a disaster! Another/new melee weapon I'd like to see at some point would be gloves or gauntlet with claws like Wolverine, maybe with the ability to set them on fire like the sledgehammer, they'd come in handy when you're out of ammo or lost your weapons, we've had machete's in the game and the knuckledusters, so a similar animation for them? If gyrocopters are in the new version of the game, being able to drop bombs or grenades would be useful, or call in an airstrike from the same people who operate the 3 day air drops lol. Great episode lads!
Thanks for tuning in! We hadn't played this world since we went on break so were a little unprepared for how crazy the horde was going to get. Lessons were learnt but I cannot say they were learnt successfully. We have only just started recording for series 5 so remains to be seen what happens.

First of all, kudos for finally hitting (and rightfully so) 1000 subscribers, very well deserved. I got the reissue of Fort Max myself 2-3 years ago, though there are bots that are now bigger than him in height etc, that doesn't take away the fact that for a good number of decades, he held the record and that's still quite an achievement. I was wondering how you were going to record this, and now as an extra bonus, we get to see more of your collection, which is very impressive! You're right, that battle scene artwork on the back is stunning, and still iconic to this day. His radio tower mode looks more like a chair or a bad version of ED-209 from Robocop lol. I've only transformed him to city and spaceship modes once, now he's back in robot mode, quite a workout to shift him to each mode because of how bulky and heavy he is lol. Still an amazing toy, and for an Autobot, he's tooled up isn't he? Guns all over the place, I would not want to mess with him lol. Despite what you've said or how you feel, I personally think you've done a great review of a difficult figure to get on camera, and congrats once more on hitting 1000 subscribers!

The new ‘upscaled’ Minibots have been great so far and this guy is no exception. Lovely little deskbot and I also love just messing with him!
@@bumblejumper82 I only noticed properly when doing this review, how many of my modern TFs are minibots. Gears, Warpath, Huffer, Pipes, Classics Bee, Beachcomber and Brawn.
Love the head/face sculpt on this, and the robot mode is great, just something about the vehicle mode that doesn't sit right with me, think it's how thin the wheels are and how low they are/how high the wheel arches are. Great review :)
I will grant you that the wheels do look a little thin. Like maybe perhaps he would look better with wheels that were double the thickness of that "off road" look. On the whole though, this figure is a wonderful modern update on a figure who seriously needed one.

Damn. It sucks to hear about the last few episodes going to the digital grave. If I may ask, what your recording setup as far as recording gameplay looks like? Also, lol Wolfkang is having a moment and having trouble getting on his bike. That was your first omen. The omen should have been when Dave started using tin cans for a gun scope. Then again, zombie wasteland. Beggars can't be choosers. And then he drove into a ditch. That's our Dave. lol Anyway, even if this was / is the end, what a hell of a way to go out. You survived a horde and made a lot of laughs and memories along the way. You did good. Keep up the awesome. :)
@@V-Revolticon we use GeForce to record and Discord to record the audio. Sometimes we dont know there is an issue until its too late. But never mind. Now we are gearing up to record Series 5.

Also, I too know the pain of a camera suddenly dying in the middle of a video. Annoying as fugg. Overall, the figure is great despite the flaws. Far from perfect, but I wouldn't say it is horrid in the least. Sweet review. Keep up the awesome. :) PS: I do have one last thing to say, though. Don't be hard on yourself. Your reviews are great. When I first took it out the box I thought it seemed a little difficult in the legs. I try to be careful not to force movement in case I damage the plastic.

An explosive intro for Dave lol, and what a horde for the final episode! It could worse though, imagine a mod or something where they could have super powers, like running at super speed or flying! Kudos for the Bottom quote, congrats on neither of you dying, and sorry to hear the later episodes weren't able to be saved, this still served as a great finale!
In the Darkess Falls mod, you do have flying demons etc. But I think we have enough problems with the enemies we currently have in the game. Lol
Fantastic review. That yellowing issue that affected wfc figures was so demoralising. Mines OK, but alas my kingdom tigatron has degraded tremendously. I'd say a studio 86 version is guaranteed, if nothing else to fix the yellowing issue. They've said that every character in the 86 movie will get a studio 86, even if a premium deco like Blaster. I think cyclonus will just be a similar case.
@@darqen666 Now that is interesting because the main and SS86 were supposed to split the characters. Hence Cyclonus and Galvatron ending up in Kingdom and Scourge in SS86. Does this mean I will have to rebuy certain shit? A SS86 specific collection does sound pretty amazing. And what about characters that only got one frame? Hound. Sunstreaker and Grapple for example. They have all released under Earthrise or some other shite.
Thats right they were originally going suooosed to be split, but because ss86 was a success I think it evolved. I'm not sure where sunstreaker etc would lie, I wouldn't be surprised if he got a redo eventually (especially as they could still do more with him) but I think they were more on about main character appearances.
@@darqen666 Well, the Earthrise Sunstreaker mold looked like dogshit, so maybe he would be either be a heavy retool or a new mold. They recently released Hound as part of that Autobot 5 pack, so he is taken care of with a slight redeco if required.
