Cool. Yeah, the paint scuffing - its too limited I think. It doesn't look natural or weathered or like he's been through the shit, it looks like an after thought. If they wanted to do that they should have done it all over the figure I think, not just certain areas - the back end looks fairly pristine for example, at least in comparison. It works better for Springer, but again - its too limited I think. Also, its about more than paint - to pull this kind of thing off well I think you have to have texturing of the plastic, maybe melting or deforming it slightly to indicate that he's been around for a while and has seen some things. The sides of the alt mode look a little bare as well - the numbers really help I think. I have the generations version of the character which is very cool, even if the scale is a little weird and the exhaust pipe accessories are a bit odd (I think they're meant to be spanners or something). Cool figure overall though, and nice video. :)
@@Feenix102 Thank you very much for watching 2024's pemultimate review. All your points are well made and valid. I think they have to commit fully to battle damage or else don't bother. It is too hit and miss otherwise.
@@WolfKang1 Agreed and thankyou! Hope you had a good holiday thus far and that New Years Eve goes well. Hang in there, mate. :)
@Feenix102 Doing my best. Hahaha
@@WolfKang1 Hehe, always good enough man. :)
The one with Tracks and Blast I recall is the episode at Dancitron. That was a fun watch. Anyway, onto the figure itself. A classic G1 figure. I like it. There are things I would change, but those are nitpick things. Plus, it is a G1 figure. Those are hard to come by regardless of quality, so you tend to let certain things go on that alone. Sweet review. Keep up the awesome.
G1 does get a pass more often than not due to the various lines that were collected together in order to birth the first three years of the brand. But even so, this boy is an awkward son of a bitch. Lol
It could use some work, but I do like this figure quite a bit. I think the updated version is a pretty well done, all things considered. And hey. Targertmasters are normally a plus, so there is that too. Sweet review. Keep up the awesome. :)
I am a little surprised they chose this guys mold to be Windsweeper too, especially as it doesn't look like they changed much of the molded detail designs which I talked about here which were unique to Needlenose alone.
This is some good tunage. Something you can drive to. I mean that is a good way. It has a vibe, ya know? Keep up the awesome. 🙂
@@V-Revolticon Thanks for listening V!
@@WolfKang1 Anytime, sir.
Has flashbacks to The Rude Awakening of Optimus Prime. It's a decent figure like the last one, but at least there is more to this based on name value. I guess it could be a fun little desk bot. Anyway, sweet review. Keep up the awesome. :)
@@V-Revolticon Now, in my previous reply to you, I mentioned wanting to see updates of this little guys. Goldbug has had one in the last 5 years. If you was going for a similar theme in terms of shared engineering, the baaic design is already there and has already been used for other characters.
@@WolfKang1 Fair point.
Life is a freeway! I wanna ride it....Never, actually. It is a decent figure, but nothing I would get all gaga for other anything other than nostilgia reasons. Sweet review. Keep up the awesome. 🙂
@@V-Revolticon Following the engineering of his peers, he was never going to set the stage on fire. I think perhaps a re-examination of this set is overdue. Let's see some updates!
The battle damage done on these figures is very hit and miss, it looks great on some, and rubbish on this one and some others. That being said, it's a decent mold and has some great sculpting! I'm glad I still own the MP version (and the Exhaust repaint/retool). Belated Merry Christmas, all the very best for 2025!
@@Superfan-UK Thank you for watching. I am going to take a look at Siege Megatron and Kingdom Galvatron at some point in the future to see if their damage holds up.
@@WolfKang1 You're welcome, and that sounds awesome. I've got that version of Megatron, but the Unicron/reformatting version of Galvatron, so thankfully it doesn't have any damage paint apps lol.
Great video. My thoughts about this figure remain the same since he came out - what is wheeljack recognisable for? Giant wings and a huge rocket launcher. Don't understand the miniature versions. Merry Christmas Gérard
@@darqen666 I like how the wings are built into the alt mode but maybe a slide mechanism to make them more pronounced in bot mode could have been good. Hope you enjoy your Christmas also!

Absolutely LOVE this bass heavy track. And the lyrics are great, I do enjoy a bit of vitriol. Superb.
@@plk53arj This one weirdly wrote itself. The line "Why I've ever had to justify, myself to you, I don't why", was almost like an epiphany once it left my mind and I read it back in real life. Very cathartic.
Great intro for Hugh...I mean Dave lol, and no, you're not 14 but you act like you are lol. I really like the guard towers, those are a good idea :) The new school looks great, it'll be interesting to see what is different on the inside. Yup, raiding the radio station was definitely a bad idea, still funny though! Great stash near the end, great episode lads!
@@Superfan-UK I will be completely upfront and honest now... We never made it as far as the school in this new series before (to quote another interest) "The Big Shutdown". But we are definitely planning on checking out in the future!
@@WolfKang1 Ah that's a shame, looks like version 1.0 needs some bug fixes. Glad to hear you'll try again though :)
@@Superfan-UK It was the server that crapped out for some reason, not the game it was hosting. The annoying thing is we'll never know what the problem was.
@@WolfKang1 that's a shame, hopefully an update will sort that for next time. Merry Christmas to you and Dave btw :)
@Superfan-UK We have decided to back up the server after each recording session so if something goes wrong in the future, we are safe.
Though not a massive fan of the character, he was quite cool. How many more of the Mini-bots are left that could be upscaled like this? It would be cool to see Seaspray and Powerglide get updated figures. The parrot being added is a really daft thing to add to the box for the price point, but at the same time it is a nice deep cut for fans of the G1 cartoon. I must admit, I'm not keen on those gaps between his arms and the seats, especially when looking down through top early in the video. That being said, the weapon storage for this figure is pure genius, and it's not used in an attack mode, which considering Beachcomber was basically a pacifist, makes sense lol. And I like that the rollcage is now part of the transformation, and not just sitting on the back like the G1 version, they almost look like jet exhausts/a small jet pack or something? Speaking of weird accessories for future toys/minibots, they could give Powerglide Astoria from the cartoon, and Alana for Seaspray? Great review :D
@@Superfan-UK I reckon every minibot could be upscaled to deluxe size. So far it has worked on all the others I own. I don't think any of them need any shiity gimmick accessories going forward.
@@WolfKang1 Any you'd want to see done first? I'd be tempted by Powerglide or Seaspray, the last one of Seaspray was actually okay, wish I'd kept mine.
Wouldn't mind a fresh Windcharger

Hope all is well, man - Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and see you in the next one. :)
@@Feenix102 This guy doesn't set the world on fire in terms of transformation but he doesn't have to. The minibot upscaling was a fucking blinding idea. @@WolfKang1 Oh cool, will do man. Cheers. :)
I really enjoy the way the guitar(s?) are being played in this one, and just the general vibe and the title, kudos!
@@Superfan-UK we wanted to give it an upbeat, rolling blues kinda sound. As the general vibe of the song (the subject matter) was already covered by a previous band but done REALLY fucking badly. This song was basically written as a direct response to that song, to showcase how you do it.
@@WolfKang1 rolling blues is a good way to describe it.
Impressive.
@@soseztheleadr Thank you as always, for listening!
Gosh! I remember this one, and it's another track that would have been great to hear fully mastered.
@@plk53arj Yeh, I always considered this version as nothing more than a place holder, just to have it exist in some form. This song would have been completely re-recorded from scratch, subtle changes to some of the guitar effects and some extra power in the vocals in the verses.
A great intro for Dave, a new series but a continuation of a previous insult, nice! Great haul that he got with his first use of a lockpick, that was lucky! The labels on the boxes look new, that's a fun and interesting visual change/update to this version of the game :) And Dave makes a very good point, it's a small change about where the characters look, but a long overdue one. You may get hit by Mallam's Mallet! That sounds dodgy on so many levels lol! Great episode lads!
Yeh it seems alot of little details received an upgrade for the wider release of the game. Despite this now being the full release of the game, it will not prohibit upgrades or changes to various mechanics or items.
I got this figure on pre-order, the altmode is near perfect (except where they've had to modify it to add the battery section) I don't mind the robot mode, the visor/sunglasses are a nice touch, but the waist tab not catching properly bothers me, as does the fact the arms/legs pop off fairly easily, so he's staying in altmode from now on, just waiting for my reprolabels from Toyhax to arrive, so I can hide the robot parts behind some stickers for the windows lol. Great to hear your enthusiasm and nostalgia for the TV series and the original car itself come through during this review btw :D It's a real shame they didn't use any voice clips from the series, that would have made the toy that much better. I know this is essentially supposed to be KITT as a Transformer/Cybertronian with his robot mode looking like Michael Knight, but part of me wishes they'd of found a way to include a mini figure of Michael to go with it/sit in side, or maybe made him a Headmaster unit? A retool/recolour as KARR would be cool, maybe with the robot mode looking like Garth Knight with the goatee? Or a recolour/retool of an Optimus as Goliath, and then one as the F.L.A.G. mobile command unit/headquarters, and Agent Knight/KITT could fit inside? Great review btw!
@@Superfan-UK the 1982 Pontiac Trans Am is my all time favourite car so of course, I was going to gush about the small details included in the vehicle depiction of this figure. Just a shame that they didn't have the foresight to include the details I highlighted as their inclusion would have sent fans over the edge!
@@WolfKang1 It's mine as well, followed closely by the 1977 version used in Smokey and The Bandit 1 and 2, then ironically for the 3rd movie, they used one very similar to KITT lol. And yeah that's true.
I have a friend in the States who owns a Trans Am - they're awesome. Ohhh, that skirt at the front is annoying! As far as effects go? For me the KITT voice is too iconic - can't have someone else doing it, I would have just had the lights going I think. For the robot mode, I wouldnt have gone with blue, I don't think - you only need the face for it to be Hasselhoff. Interesting that you mention the Dellorian though - its the only one I want really, so I'll pick it up one day if I can find it. Cool. :)
@@Feenix102 Glad you enjoyed the review. Your friend in the US is a very lucky individual.
@@WolfKang1 Yeah, she's pretty great. :)
also, the waist tab thing doesnt go in on mine either, methinks it is an inherent design fault due to the swivels on the bonnet not having enough room to fully rotate downwards.
@@GodPikachu Entirely possible yes.
Weird thing, the super pursuit mode transformation in the TV series was completely unnecessary, as the trans-am had been wind tunnel tested up to 350 mph and was completely stable, so all those fins and air rams etc would only make the aerodynamics unstable.
@@GodPikachu Yeh, but they needed something that added a fresh element to the show. The addition of that to this would have been a nice little touch I feel. They could have even made part of it as asthetic for bot mode.
why the game look so horribles?
@@Falzeee It is a vast improvement on previous versions. Lol
@@WolfKang1 Unreal Tournament Number 1 looks better and that was made before my dad and mom even conceived me!
@Falzeee Graphical excellence must always take 2nd place for an environment where Fuckery is in near limitless supply.

A much more 'mellow' version - very much enjoyed.
@@plk53arj It would be interesting to see how many different styles thid song could be adapted to.
Hard to believe it's Season 5/version 1.0 already! Doesn't seem that long ago you started off alll by yourself in an earlier version of Alpha, and now here we are. I really enjoyed the new intro sequence, and Dave's insulting intro. Liking his avatars hair colour, maybe he could replicate it in real life for charity, and though I've only played version 1.0 a bit, part of me likes the new outfits etc for characters, part of me misses the option of mixing and matching clothing and armour etc. I think the zombie's exploding head animation is new, or slightly upgraded from the last version of the game? All in all, I'd say you're both of to a reasonably good start for this series, well done lads!
@@Superfan-UK Yes, we both lamented the loss.of mixing and matching various clothing options but at least now we have a use for the armour parts we used to sell off.

Stereo-type? Very good, Sir. I’ve never owned a G1 Blaster tbh. I had reissue Twincast, but I just couldn’t get my head around the scale for display. Kingdom version is good enough for me 🙂
@@bumblejumper82 I got around the scale for display issue by separating the bots into year of release. That way, Blaster sits woth Jetfire and Omega Supreme at the back and it didn't cause many problems.

@@ryanricardo Thanks for watching!
Still easily one of my all time favourite G1 toys (and characters). Love the addition of the silver Autobot symbol, really makes him stand out and look unique comared to the others owned by other collectors. Not entirely sure what it is, but for some reason, I've never liked or understood why his gun has that massive hole/gap in the middle lol, or the scope for that matter, as Blaster isn't a weapons expert or sniper. I would love to have a Masterpiece version, maybe borrow some engineering from the Kingdom version (which I own, and think is a really well designed and well put together updated figure). I've never been a fan of the tabs as feet in robot mode, I wish they'd been designed differently in some way, maybe something on the back of the legs as well? And until I played closer attention to the instructions, I'd always left his arms extended and hadn't turned them around, they looked better that way to me than they did right next to his body and facing like you have in the review, I know better now lol. Awesome review, kudos to the subscriber who gifted you the replacement :)
@@Superfan-UK Apparently from what I have just learned, the hole in the gun was to hold the headphones of the original toy, pre G1 release. His gun is depicted accurately in cartoon and comic appearances like all G1 toys were. That's what always made me laugh about the cartoon. So many animation errors but not one of them got it wrong when it came to which bots had which hand weapons.
@@WolfKang1 Okay, that actually makes a lot of sense. I think the original/pre-Transformers version was an actual working radio too (and maybe Soundwave too?) and yeah, funny that lol.
Why is there a big hole in his gun? I'm just wondering if you can store it between the bits of the handle that fit together. Cool video, man. :)
@@Feenix102 I have never thought about that or tried it. Interestingly enough, in all supporting media in the 1980's, his guns appearance, like most bots, was accurate in it's depiction to its toy counterpart.
@@WolfKang1 Indeed. :)
The hole on the gun was for storing the headphones on the original toy.

Thank you. This track didn't come out as well as other demos and probably would have taken the longest to mix down and fix, but the essentials were there. Lol
My version of Legacy Needlenose is in storage (moving very soon), but there is definitely a knack to tabbing it together in jet mode. Someone at Hasbro really loved this toy, because this is a great homage. The head sculpt is amazing! Probably getting Quake now too! 😉
@@bumblejumper82 well, if there is a knack to tabbing this bastard together, it is evident that is has escaped me.
You need to check out -Prime vs Prime’s video on Legacy Needlenose to see how it all snaps together tightly in vehicle mode.
@@tug-mug Thank you for the recommendation!
I've never owned either version, I like the altmode as it's a modified version of the F-16 Falcon, but I've always thought the name was a bit rubbish. I just looked on the TFWiki, you're right, they've recoloured and retooled it to be Windsweeper, which is a shame as that had a completely different aircraft altmode. This one isn't too bad, the headsculpt is really good. A shame about the targetmasters being almost exactly the same as the original, and not adding extra articulation, Hasbro/Takara being lazy/cutting costs yet again lol. I think I prefer where the nosecone/cockpit section went on the G1 version to this, but like you said, the attention to detail/sculpting on the Legacy version does look good. Great review!
@@Superfan-UK yeh, the name is a little weird. All in all, it is a decent figure. It's just odd to me that they spent so much time duplicating the smallest sculpting detail and end up with a figure that doesn't do anything new except the eye colour and the articulation.
