As long as we followed the dialogue verbatim, we could interpret and execute the video as we saw fit. There were groups of two. This Bran and Park is co-directed by Sarah Symenow and myself, Matt Lebow.
Soundscape (Unabridged)

The idea behind the soundscape project was to create 50 second to 1 minute soundscape/interview. It was meant to acquaint our class, myself included with recording audio, editing audio and being able to construct an environment with only the use of sounds. We had to use three layers of sound: the interview track, sound effects and ambient noise. This is an unabridged version with lots of materi...

I'm not going to discount what Jews went through in Europe; I have extended family that disappeared in Europe in WW2. That being said, when my family came to the US Prussia in the 1800s, they experienced similar behavior. During world war I and world war II no matter how many of the family served. They were still targeted in the US. Most of them change their names. Human beings are sometimes pretty nasty.

My family came over to Montreal in the early 1900s from Russia and the Ukraine. As in America, they came with very little but were willing to work hard.

Very interesting but some of the footage shows Jews in Europe during World War ll. They are wearing the Star of David so they are at the mercy of the Nazis.

Yes - Jews were overly represented in the garment industry in the US. But they didn't wear yellow "Jude" stars in the US. That was in Europe under Nazi Fascism. If you were to re-edit this - that would be one correction I would recommend because the pictures and the context don't match. However, you might not have known this at the time.

Thanks for liking my video. It possibly is, I made the film back when I was in college. So resources were short at the time and I believe I used what stock media I could find that was at least somewhat applicable. I know better now, lol .

It appears that a number of subjects in this video were Jews that were under the rule of Nazi Germany. Were you unable to find material from the correct period and place???

I don't understand why people and countries have problems with Jewish people what have they done nothing, why do people want to hurt them, it's a different lifestyles and religion they work hard live their own lives, I certainly don't know what everyone has a problem with them, I'm British and have no problem with any races or religions we all bleed red blood underneath and we all live on one planet no matter what colour we are.

Lots of the scenes showed here are not from the time period described (1900 NYC). A lot of scenes are from the nazi era Europe (you'll note the yellow star of david pinned on the workers clothes)

Thanks for putting this together, Matt. I mean it. You have 3 subscribers and you took the time to record and edit this video just because you knew someone would benefit from it. I did. This video just helped to save my social studies grade, and for that I am grateful. I wish you the best, and a happy farewell.

No problem Rice_Puddn. I actually did this for a documentary class at college, but also so people could gain some knowledge about one of the nation's immigrant groups. I'm glad you were able to use this to help your grade and hopefully learned something interesting from it. As a filmmaker, I'm happy that you took the time to write this thank you comment and appreciate the video. Have a good day and good luck with the rest of the school year. Also, feel free to message me or comment if you have any questions or maybe a video request.
