Second Matabele War Part 2
In March 1896 the Matabele people rose up against the British South Africa Company's authority. This revolt was largely fuelled by the influence of the Mlimo, the spiritual leader of the Matabele. The Mlimo successfully convinced both the Matabele and the Shona people that the settlers, who numbered around 4,000 at that time, were to blame for various hardships experienced in the country. These hardships included a severe drought, frequent locust plagues, and the rampant spread of a devastating cattle disease called rinderpest.

What the VOC did, wasn't right. Imagine it was the other way around. If JVR & co. asked the Koi-Koi for permission at the time, I guess all would've been well.

Paul Kruger loved his country

Thanks very sad what happened to him.interesting history.
Apartheid government thought they were slick pushing racial supremacy propaganda and dodging sanctions 😂 obviously, if you don't compete locally you have no chance internationally
First comment. Politics should never ever be tolerated in sport or religion. Politicising either is a crime against humanity.
Interesting man thanks so much.
Thank you very much for watching
For some reason i cant like it the button doesn't let me , but i do like it thanks so much 👍

Never defeated.
Why do they fight to the black gentleman they are innocent 😢😢😢 Who want to ask this question 👇🏻

She is my 10 x great grandmother (via Pieternella, a child from her marriage to Pieter van Meerhof). I heard the story before but only traced it back very recently!
Appreciate the effort. But this is a biased historical take which skipped tons of crucial events. Some of the narratives here are debatable, the trigger of the war wasn't necessarily based on a particular raid in Mashonaland, the details of the raid are exaggerated but I understand after going through some of your sources (clearly not a fan of Lobengula or his nation) that you're just sharing what you know. There's a Museum in Bulawayo that has rich history and evidence on all these things, check it out. I want to end but I can't but get over the fact that there's missing battles, the so called "bribes" which were in reality a plead by Lobengula for the settlers to not massacre his people. Eyy there's just so much 💔
Thank you for your feedback
Who is telling this history😢? ur not xhosa 💩💩💩🏃🏾♂️💩😪💩 lies
Out maneuvered by early mossaad , & Hintsa was no more and we become a grand duchy
The Griqua lost out to British imperialism first in the diamond rich GRIQUA LAND WEST and then to the land hungry British settlers in GRIQUALAND EAST . The injustices yet unanswered . The indigenous First Nation people suffer at the hands of Bantu and Europeans .
Who are you to be telling and pronouncing our names very bad? We should be ashamed as xhosa nation to be applauding this guy for telling our stories.
Unity party should of won in 48
The poster puts several facts or arguments down in this clip to inform the viewer. Many people in the comments below make aggressive comments, yet only one or two state facts they base their criticism on. It is clear the poster only wants to provide information that appear to carry historical support. If you have different information, present it and educate. But keep your stupid comments like “ get your facts right - we are not mixed” to yourself. You must be a complete fool to reason that you are not of mixed descent if your ancestors include just about every nation south of the north pole. Of much more importance is are there missing bits of history in this short summary that is important? Is there incorrect information? Those are the things that viewers want to know. Not your kak pointless remarks.
Jy het nie n donnerse idee waarvan jy praat nie
We all know Britain still has the King's skull, and they should not allow us to fetch it
My kjng 🙇♂️
According to other sources, Dingane did not kill Sigujana, King Shaka did. th-cam.com/video/LwcRBuQ3YIE/w-d-xo.html
In 1994 the 1st democratic elections were held in SA with the ANC coming into power. In the next 30 years, government corruption was rampant and many important infrastructure like electricity and the railway system has collapsed. SA now is on the brink of becoming a failed State.
his daugher
shame im learning grade4
What happened to his dragon?
This is an account that needs to be decolonized in order to be taken seriously by the thinking progeny of the Sonquais.
How did people know the year which Lobengula died when he is someone who disappeared???
Very informative! Well done !
Thank you for watching
Thanks indeed, I need to seriously re-learn my history. This is not what they teach us at school all they do is teach us about the Boer War, and how great the settlers are and nothing is said of our history prior to 1910. My plight would be to speak with my Xhosa people, the fight for our land has never been accomplished and has never stopped. We may pretend we are okay with being stripped of culture, identity and religion but we will never find peace and have wealth and build a legacy for our children as while we continue to live like we are Settlers/Abelungu. The reason we our people continue to live under poverty and alcoholism is bcoz the fight the war never ended. Blood was spilled and our ancestors died for us to live in a world where we would be free to modernize our Africa our way and own what was originally ours. The reason ya'll are praying non-ending prayers to Jesus is bcoz the brainwashing which stripped you off your dignity, identity and everything which you stand for still enjoys the fruits of your forefathers land , laughs and bathes in my grandfathers blood and says BEE is the enemy and the Constitution is your solution. We will never find peace as the questions our forefathers needed answers to are still not yet answered. Abantu abadala bayathetha, bathi - sithulele ntoni - ngubani osiguqule wasenza izibhanxa. Akekho uYesu ozazokusihlangula abantu emhlabeni bayazihlangula bayazilwela, kwaye bayayimela into yabo. The West own our wealth, our land and we don't get a cent.
There is so much history we can't possibly learn all of it in school, thank you for watching
Hi there, just something to remember in English you add a s for plural but not in Afrikaans. Boere for farmers and not boers and vryburgers and not vrugburgers. Thanks!
Thanks for that!
Grikwas were white children
Nice to see you back
It's nice to be back and glad to see you're still here
Love ❤️ it thank you 😊 😊😊❤❤❤❤
Thank you, and much appreciated
Gqunukwebe is a khoisan clan n white people say Xhosa killed khoisan bt in this history they both Xhosa n khoisan fort white people that means they were OK b4 white's came my point y r xhosas being told to go to eastern cape bt the war was in the cape colony
Xhosa did kill khoi people and xhosa did live with Khoi people yes we know...Stop acting like the Xhosas did no harm to the Indigenous Bushmen and Khwe people how else did the Xhosa get their name from the Bushmen?
Where were the khoisan people if this war heppened in capetwn
They were already conquered by the Settlers
Conquered and coopted or assimilated.
I Iove it
