Losing the Election

Kamala Harris lost. Or maybe Joe BIden lost. Hard to say, hard to know. But America has made its choice, and unlike Donald Trump in 2020, the Democrats will gracefully and peacefully step down.
Feeling GREAT About Harris Bringing It Home!

It's time. As hard as it to take the chance of Trump winning seriously, we know it exists. But there are just too many reasons to feel great about this, and here are a few: tariff damage, National Retail Federation study, Latinos in Pennsylvania fed up with the Puerto Rico garbage garbage, Kamala being awesome...

Tariffs. Trade wars. Farmer bailouts costing more than our entire nuclear arsenal. Iowa farmers clearly haven't forgotten, as the Ann Selzer - Des Moines Register revealed to all the world on Saturday. They, and we, are part of the global economy whether Trump is smart enough to realize it or not.
SHOCKING Selzer Iowa Poll - Even for Poll Skeptics Like Me

Ann Selzer's poll of Iowa voters for the Des Moines Register MATTERS, in a way that others don't. This is terrible news for Trump, and could explain why other things related to his chances are cratering (like his publicly traded DJT shares late this week, and the Polymarket prediction results yesterday). Also - Michigan, particularly Arab voters - I KNOW you aren't falling for Trump's lies and ...

This was a very useful take for me. I’m trying not to panic. I’m also hoping that his incredible laziness will be a help here and that his advisors will talk him out of the tariffs and mass deportation because they know it will tank the economy and they don’t want to go against their own interests. It won’t be to take care of the American people or to do the right thing but to protect their wealth.

Great to see you! Much needed your efforts to help people to stay connected and support each other. Good message to our ears from you - be here, be now. Another one - don't worry, be happy. Harris did fantastic campaign, and enlightened people with message to look into future with hope and optimism, stay connected and positive. We lost by quantity, but not by quality. My thoughts on what went wrong. 1. Dems toasted themselves by avoiding rural areas for campaigning. 2. Scare tactic of MAGA Republicans worked a lot of people were scared go to the polls. 3. Religious factor was underestimated (this one is the touchiest one and for understanding its role I would look into historical parallels how dictators were coming to power with help of so-called religious nationalism, do not be mistaken with traditional religion). 4. Misinformation scales were disastrous, and government didn't do much about it, except a few accounts to re-battle it by announcing on news channels. 5. Overall, democracies in decline period, so, post-truth populist agenda harvesting brains. What could be done an immediate from my perspective (for people in despair out of result of this election) - first and most important one - relax and bring yourself to balance by focusing on everyday tasks, spending time with nature, in the library, listen to music, drink some wine, sing a song, read the book - small pleasing tasks. Do not blame yourself with what is out of your control, control what you could - your life, don't let other side to have the satisfaction that they won over you as a person, they are not. Once balanced - everything else will follow. There are a lot of people who already working hard to preserve democracy the best they could. Oh, there are already news out there for our "sweet revenge" and our "we told you so" feelings. MAGA members from famous MAGA movement, which were so worried about bad economy under the Biden, all of a sudden were in disbelief, that some of them won't receive any bonuses for Christmas, because company has to do the stash for tariffs coming. So, let's just relax and wait for the great awakening of MAGA to the reality, they have the power they wanted (isn't it is so classy to say - be careful what you are wishing for) Oh, and some of them all of a sudden were shockingly surprised, that Project 2025 is not a joke, and some Republicans openly start to tell them, that we lied to you about Trump has nothing to do with it. As for all of us, we should learn how to resist in correct way, even it sucks, that choice of this election will affect our life too. Best regards to this community.

Sparkly, you must always know, whatever your personal circumstances, that you are a valued human being. Perhaps not loved by all(no one ever is) but loved by all who understand the power and significance of love. I'll share a story I heard in my youth. Public televisión once ran a documentary series called "The Long Search", an inquiry into the nature of religious faith. One episode featured an elderly black man who was raised in the south by his grandmother but became in adult life a distinguished academic. He recalled a childhood encounter with an older man who belittled him by calling him disparaging names. He ran home in tears, sharing the trauma with his grandmother. He said she looked him dead in the eyes and, digging deep into the reservoir of her accumulated wisdom, said: "..boy, you are not a "n"; you're God's child..". He went on to say that he then raised himself erect and, armed with that new sense of self, he'd now be able to withstand every atrocity that life might throw at him. Sparkly, I was so moved when I first heard that account. It moves me still to share it again. I tell you this so that you might know how treasured you truly are. Whatever the circumstances that define who you are, you too are a child of God. And as such you must live your life in light of that inheritance and vision. And NEVER let anyone tell you otherwise or steal the joy that is yours by right.

Trump is not acting out because he has what he wanted, power. He has escaped accountability for his convictions. He has 2 maybe 4 years (depending on how the mid terms go) of unchecked power ahead of him. Who wouldn't be in a good mood in that position. He hasn't changed. He won't change.

I can’t believe that it just all went away literally the day after. I knew it would all go away if he won, but dang. Life is coming at us fast.

Current House count: 199 Democrats, 210 Republicans, 218 for majority. Might as well write that one off too. Super mandate. Can push through whatever he wants, rapidly.

I‘m over the defeat. I‘m waiting for the great and prosperous utopia Trump promises to deliver or will it be invisible like the beautiful wall, the terrific healthcare plan to replace ACA, and the release of his tax returns?

@@tomworthjr It was definitely 1 factor, but definitely, Biden also not leaving after 1 term, was a huge mistake.

It’s a reactionary response to having a successful black president who dotted his i’s and crossed his t’s and remained impeccably centrist to the point where the whites and wannabe-whites had no viable excuse to critique him. Donald trump is the status quo in optics. Obama was the opposite. All people care about these days are optics because of things like tik tok.

After a day of sadness.and pessimism yesterday, I've been slightly more optimistic today that we're going to get through this.

Love to hear it! Sometimes hope is all we have, and hopefully that is enough to pull through.
