Great airmanship! Amazing video! My first ever flight in a small aircraft was in a Swift. Went on to get my ppl and fly many different planes, but never had a chance to fly a Swift.

That’s some serious skill and I also so like the agreed upon nonverbal communication. I do have a question re situational awareness. If both pilots and passengers are looking at each other’s airplanes, who is scanning the rest of the horizon for potential conflicts? A formation flight performing in an airshow box that’s kept clear (hopefully) of that hazard is one thing - open airspace raises those stakes considerably so I’m curious.

I had the great honor to fly with Charlie Nelson in his Swift and Buckaroo out of McMinn County Airport in the early 80s. Surpized you didn't mention what makes Morristown Regional Airport special. Evelyn Bryan Johnson was the instructor there and did FAA check rides. She did mine. She was a delight but always made sure that pilot's were completely proficient. The Swift was so ahead of it's time and many modern pilots don't realize how great the airplane really is.

I started watching Jonas fly this plane and subscribe to his channel... Then I was blown away when the plane was sold to a man who lives 30 miles away from where I live... I want to go for a ride in this infamous plane... I got the cash $$$

Your story telling is sublime! AZ is such a beautiful and geographically diverse place. Met my wife in Tucson. There’s a great Air Museum in Pima! I have found my people! Grew up in the FL Panhandle and frequented NOLA a bit with the family. The Blind Pelican has an amazing duck, pear, and brie sammy if you like that kind of thing. I’m in the middle of getting my CPL and this is basically what my wife and I see us doing in our own plane one day. Flying and food. Two of our favorite things. Cheers. Hope NOLA gets through these tough times post IDA.

Great video. I flew a Globe Swift in New England in the 1970s. Wonderful aircraft. I really enjoyed the high rate of roll. Loved the way Jim greased on those landings.

Thanks for this video. Takes me back a long time to my childhood. My father owned a Swift for a time in the 1960s, although it was painted. I have a couple of memories from it - the time one of the side windows blew out in flight and the time we got stuck after landing on a beach on a basically uninhabited island just off the North Carolina coast.

Actually met Wayne eating lunch at some picnic tables near his hanger when he landed in about 50’ it seemed. Love the video totally unexpected to see a plane I know and area. Dave the manager at Mtn. City is one of the nicest people you’ll meet. Wayne is a friendly guy also. Everyone is nice in the mountains of Tennessee !
