👍👍!
First he played the Italian song „bella ciao“… against the german invasion?
I prefer the titian, Willemotte and last the Plowden
A Carlo Bergonzi, another beautiful instrument.
What's the name of the instrument?
Such a great sound and you are the master to bring out this very sound to us. I like violins which have a BASS. So Guarneri del Gesu (and you) rules..... 🙂
Absolutely, this is a violin with a cello timbre...
Why has he fixed a pick up on this violin ? The sound of the violin is totally ruined
❤👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
You indeed are one of the fortunates. Beautiful, heavenly, transcendent sounds.
Genial
What a sacrilege to play this wonderful instrument with short pants !!!!😵😭😥
Having such an opinion is sacrilegeous…
Magic
The interviewer could have done her homework a lot more thoroughly to make sure that all the information in the interview is new to everyone watching (most fans of Roberts will already know his technique for playing piano style chords), but he was an excellent interviewee and I hope that he continues to explore the possibilities of the violin in this way and that he continues to have success with it, as I find it very inspiring. It is always nice when pop covers are of a very high standard.
Omg the willemotte
Sounds like a viola.
Does anybody know what piece he played? Fantastic!
I think his own composition
Wonderful clarity and resonance
The second one😊
Old violas are just a dream for most players.... Unfortunately, may professionals today can't even afford a fine contemporary viola.
Hello, may I ask what you were playing? Such a beautiful piece.
Wish I could own an instrument by Gasparo!
Which piece is the one she is playing?
Ysaye Sonata Number 4, 3rd mvmt, “Finale”. And if you love the piece, check out Tessa Lark’s performance of the whole sonata on the Violin Channel. It’s superb, and played on another wonderful violin, a Maggini from c. 1600.
This guy plays at a level deserving of an instrument like this...And the sound of him playing it is amazing, truly
Beautiful sound 👍
Superb instruments, superb playing, the magic of Mozart - what more could you want?!
Pregunta: el barniz es el original ???? O fue re barnizado?
I THINK YOU FOUND YOUR GIRL.! ITS SO THICK AND LUSH LIKE FINE LEATHER BOOTS. YOUR LUCKY MAN. ITS AS FULL AS A VIOLA! ITS LIKE Carley Simon full and sexy.
Nice tone, very surprised, nuances of Del Jeso, smoothness lushness, creaminess. I CERTAINLY would not turn it down if offered to me. But then again, I'm not after your instrument. Tie it around your neck, cherish it. I LOST GREAT GRANDFthers violin, it hurts. YOUR INDEED FORTUNATE, NICE VIOLIN!
It just goes to show, there are lots of fish in the sea of violins, an Stradivari isn't the only sweet sounding violin out there. I RATHER LIKE THE SOUTHERN PLAINTIF TONE OF THE BERGONZI IT HAS THE LYRICAL CALL SIMILAR TO A GIRL IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL I GREW UP WITH. BERGONZI!!! A CHARMING INSTRUMENT. I HAVE LEARNED SOMETHING, GRATZI !
Anyone who compares the tone colors of Stradivarius and Guarneri violins need to include this one, because it exemplifies the beauty of the latter.
Ole Bull's Sæterjentens Søndag.
Love this series.
I like the way that you play this instrument. Beautiful indeed. Thank you for all of your expertise.
Altotiste sublime!!! Bonne Chance pour votre Route de la vie!!! Encore superb!!! Votre collègue Chanteur d'Òpéra Téneur et Altotist 🙋♂️🇪🇺🇩🇪🇫🇷🇨🇭 🎻🎶🍀🍀🍀
So what organ did you sell to buy that?
i tried to calculate both of my kidneys and they aren't enough 😂
Just gorgeous. What is the name of the piece she is playing 🔥
I now this violin very well and colector too.
I now this violin very well and colector too.
Lovely video. Lovely cello. Excellent cellist! Could you please tell us the name of the peice that he plays. It sounds so awesome and I want to hear more! Thank you!
It's the second movement of the Hindemith Sonata for Cello Solo
@@Kwert thank you. It is haubtingly beautiful
Amazing sound..
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻
I prefer this MUCH more than Hilary Hahn's "Il Canonne" copy. Perhaps Mr Vuillaume put all of his effort into making it *look* like Il Canonne... but not *sound* like it...
I can't say I agree, but they're both great instruments for sure.
actually i agree with you. i heard Hilary at Auckland townhall, while her playing was good, i didnt particularly find the tonal qualities of her violin to be any special. i am not even sure if that was the violin she used. maybe it didnt adjust well to the weather out here.
@@kiwiviolin941 Well it's true that a violin can "tighten up" in cold weather after being in a moderate/warm-ish (but not overly humid environment). Sorry for all those words! I used to live in New Zealand by the way, in Nelson! Happy times. But yes: most of the great Stradivaris, Guarneris, Vuillaumes I've heard have performed well in places like Canada, London, Australia, America, New Zealand, Singapore - (and Singapore is a "dangerous one" for the violin because of the humidity! The violin can possibly fall apart!). I think I could identify the violin she used if you gave me the year that she played in the concert you went to. It's possible that she played on a "back-up" violin, but I doubt it, since back-up violins are generally reserved for outdoors.

❤❤❤
Excellent cellist! It’s wonderful how “right” Francesco got it. (Also how odd that, after Stradivari copied him, history accorded the credit for inventing the modern cello to Stradivari rather than to Ruggeri.) Ruggeri’s brilliant insight was not to proportion his instrument to the musical range needed, but rather to the human hand. Wound strings, recently developed in Brescia, opened up possibilities for a satisfactory bass response from the shorter stop length.
What a gorgeous instrument to hear, it’s giving me chills.
are the people who loan him this violin okay with him putting the pick up on a Guarneri?
