It just goes to show, there are lots of fish in the sea of violins, an Stradivari isn't the only sweet sounding violin out there. I RATHER LIKE THE SOUTHERN PLAINTIF TONE OF THE BERGONZI IT HAS THE LYRICAL CALL SIMILAR TO A GIRL IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL I GREW UP WITH. BERGONZI!!! A CHARMING INSTRUMENT. I HAVE LEARNED SOMETHING, GRATZI !
I remember from Perlman's recordings that the G string showed the biggest difference between the Bergonzi and the Soil Strad, with the Bergonzi's G somewhat plain. But then most violins on the planet sound plain compared to the Soil.
Wonderful clarity and resonance
A Carlo Bergonzi, another beautiful instrument.
It would have been interesting to hear the G string!
