bruh you got owned soo bad.awwwwful
Now a part of Formlabs..... so much for affordability.
this aged like milk
I hope your machine was a bluff to get adquired, because if it wasn't you deserver what you've got.
Closely aligned my ass, All they did was buy up a competitor so they don't have to compete. Like how they're going to stop selling $30,000 SLS printers. Fucking tools, just say it like it is. 😅
goddamit just saw you sold out to Form labs. Those bastards already put the SLS tech back at the 30K mark. Assholes just wanted to stop you from destroying their sla models in price and performance
you sold out, what a shame :(
Thank goodness at least the patents aren't being patented by a proper group of people and not some boomer
I hope Luigi is watching this latest greed and avarice showcase of monopoly in action 🙂 . CEOs and corporate greed, amirite?
"Our company that was on the edge of changing the manufacturing world for folks that arent just sitting around with $100k to burn folded and trashed the opportunity to gain a quick buck and gave a company known for keeping prices of these machines at an unobtainable for 99% of people full control over the one of a kind effort we had in the works. Likely ensuring it'll never be as affordable or accessible as it would've been." Quick summary of the video for anyone who wishes to not waste their time on it.
can it do metal as well?
I hate this so much
I'm still mad he sold out, and it's been almost half a year.
Oh.
Yeah, buy a company making a $3k sls machine before it comes to market and then sell it for $28k. Great move form labs. Taking something from hobbyists for your own profits
I guess it’s time to wait for Prusa, Elegoo or Creality to make a budget SLS printer now…
they wont
Got a lot of free testing and sold it to Formlabs to protect their market. What a couple of losers.
$1,000 credit goes to formLabs, i'd be pissed.
How are things with you two now , fingers crossed 😊 All the best 💖
a team of talented engineers was bought with money, it's a pity that there wasn't a good businessman or lawyer nearby. they could blow up the market so that the success of bambulab would simply fade away from the background.
This was a mistake... form labs gets buku dollars per sls machine and yall just got bought up and thrown to oblivion. Just my $.02.
You sold out to a company that will ensure this never finds its way to the consumer market. I'm sure you guys made quite a bit of money, but if your goal was to bring affordable, high-quality 3D printing to the consumer market, you got impatient, saw the money, and absolutely sold out. Shame you killed this.
I just watched the video introducing the micron and now seeing this, i’m honestly really devastated. I finally thought someone was using their engineering genius to bring something as costly as SLS printing to consumers. But no!! it’s about the money quick I guess… Can you imagine if these guys just stuck to their vision and created their own industry disruptor? Dude you’d be worth millions.
I don't even know what to say. I am not going to blame the people at Micron, though. They are human. I would have been happy had they been successful and brought a new product to market. But it's their choice, not mine or anyone else's (and I am not even saying that that is what they should or shouldn't have done, I am not them). It would have been cool had they taken a shot at something few people seem to have done, and came out successful with a product on their hands that the masses can use. But maybe we will get that next time. :)
Formlabs litterally stole the backing money and offer a measly $1000 in credit to their own half-baked printers as compensation.
They plunged the knife into their own dream. Totally agree
Sell outs. Formlabs is hands down the worst 3d printer company i have ever worked with. Good luck with that.
This is probably the most disappointing news all year for me
I hate everything you have become. You would have been worth 100x whatever they paid you in a few years time if you had the balls to see this through. Your integrity would also be intact. Spineless cowards.
I can’t wait for the chinese to build this at a fraction of the cost and put your new company out of business
We still hate you for this! You could've been the next billionaire.
I'm very happy that you guys were acquired by Formlabs, but my biggest gripe is that I believe they bought you guys out just to cut the competitive cost of your printer out of the market. Currently the base Fuse 1 is almost $10k; for an enthusiast who wants to get into SLS printing but can't drop this kind of cash, this is very disappointing for me.
so no sls printer for 3k.. sad.. the worst think that could happend to us consumer
they eliminated you from the market yall got duped
man this almost hurts to watch. how close we were to something amazing, and it all fell apart so quickly
WHO BY SELLING OUT
Wow that's great news for you I just hope the contract is really win win for you and that you don't get robbed at the end. And btw if you kept your business it would yes have reduced potential margin of profits for both of your companies but would also have reduced price for customers and increase pressure for you and them to make the best project.
this hasnt aged well
it can do metal?
Simply dishonorable as .....
красавчики, огромная работа
Its not "we got acquired" Its: "we sold it out for big bucks"
And now well will weait 10 years for anything to even be heard about this then get machines that will cost 12'000 as "Consumer grade" I started watching this project back in January its sad to see them "Acquired" (Really we all know they did it to beat down competition)
I like how Formlabs bought the company that sells printers for 3k and now sell it for 30k pretty much removing a cheap SLS printing technology from the market
It is very unfortunate this was a huge fail. It looked promising.
acquired by formlabs.. so theyre gonna mothball this then.
Yup, this is either dead or 4 times the price
Does this do metal powder or only nylon?
Well, darn it! There goes affordable SLS!! Aaaaaand, it's gone! Huge mistake.
Nice, FormLabs knows how to be competitive, just buy the competition
Formlabs DOES NOT want to make 3d printing more accessable to everyone. Just look at what they offer vs the competition (specifically their sla printers vs elegoo or any of the affordable printer manufacturers that listen to the consumers and take proven concepts and innovate on them at an "affordable" price) and its extremely clear they do not care about making 3d printing accessible to everyone. Unless their definition of everyone is rich people. Sounds like a crappy corporation to me.
you made the biggest mistake of your lives taking the money, you would have made 100X if you followed your own vision instead of got in line behind someone else's. no one who was ever "acquired" is ever seen as anything more than a sellout.
