    Night mare situation for a passenger - never want to experience that but with such an professional pilot that looked so smooth. Something to try in the DCS simulator

    Do you have a blade off tracking or some other main rotor anomaly?

    "The r/way tail rotor servo to the right"...As the Instructor announces "then the servo walks on you"...this is a tail rotor slide valve seizure and the pedal will continue to "walk" until it reaches full right extension. The flight manual procedure is to immediately cut off the hydraulics, it doesn't seem that the Instructor pushes full right pedal (as with a real slide valve seizure) and therefore does the "pumping of the collective" technique still allow the helicopter to land?

    This may sound obvious, but the excellent view of all instruments, pedals, cyclic, collective and throttle and a great view out front, makes this stand out from so many similar videos on YT. You can watch this multiple times and see exactly what is going on. Great producyion and great piloting. Thanks

    I've done these autos' in my scale 500D r/c helicopter. It is not an easy task to perform and I crashed on my first attempt. The machine was repairable and accomplished the task once again this time without failure.

    That was nice, but I dead-sticked an SR-71 into Fallujah so Jeremy Dimwitt could jump. Unfortunately I could only slow down to MACH 7 and his cords got tangled and he hurt his back and became a poser cop somewhere. Motor 1, OUT.

    It would not let me reply.....so..that is mainly a maint check on PC rigging v TQvNR RPM....in free state auto...Nr is based on Acft WT & DA...Semi Rig (Bell) has less NR, then a Art (MD), due to the size of blades and whole much more.....as a CFI #1 goal is to have the student undersatnd some of this.....the chances of a actual eng fail in a turbine is very rfemote, but the chances of a Fuel Control issue is more likely (partial power), etc...good video otherwise....I am old school, but when I wrote the Heli Handbook for the FAA they insited that the word "flare" be used...aerodynamically the proper term is a "deceleration", you have 3, no decel, partial decl & full.

    You need to rig your Nr...It should be mid to high green...unless you are adding collective already? Bug NO NO!

    • @heliemergenciesdonetherigh389
      @heliemergenciesdonetherigh389 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t think you understand autos every machine will have a optimum wide open throttle flat pitch torque witch will put you in the safe to fly but you will still half to plot it on auto chart for example Hu 500 24 psi torque bell 206 28 to 32 percent torque with flat pitch wide open throttle to get you started if you half to hold collective up in a sustained auto your Rpm is to high and very dangerous because you have already used some of your collective travel needed for touch down so maybe you should rethink this remember weight effects RPM as well as any kind of turn or flare

    • @thepilot9796
      @thepilot9796 ปีที่แล้ว

      AFter 6000 hrs helio, military,DPE etc...and athuor for most of the FAA Publication, etc...no time to go back and forth...bottom line any auto you want mid to high green, depoends on rotor system and loading etc...to much to type, just fly safe...

    • @heliemergenciesdonetherigh389
      @heliemergenciesdonetherigh389 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your are mostly right but if get in a machine you have not flown before how do you know if your auto RRPM is safe look at your torque at wide open throttle flat pitch for example Bell 206 toque value should be 28 to 32 if higher you would have low auto RPM if lower you would have high auto RPM it’s about how much torque it takes to turn the rotor system and where the pitch is at full down collective this should be observed before flight so you have a fighting chance when engine quits

      @@heliemergenciesdonetherigh389 No idea what you two high time experts are arguing about, but it's time for the🍿

    • @heliemergenciesdonetherigh389
      @heliemergenciesdonetherigh389 ปีที่แล้ว

      Note the radius of the pull out extreme nose down to nose high more than normal flare which has to be arrested with collective so no the Rotor rpm dose not half to be ajusted
