    Tip for experiencing the true Australia; Forget Melbourne, that could be aby city in Europe. Forget Bondi Beach if you're in Sydney. It's the most over rated over hyped over priced over crowded tiniest most crowded piece of sand in Australia. Full of drunk backpackers, broke European backpacker thieves that will steal as soon as you hit the water, look at me's and please will you look at me's. Don't even bother about Byron Bay, you will be seen as nothing more than a walking dollar sign to be bled clean. Gold coast? Huh. And if you don't want to contribute to the killing of the reef forget the barrier reef. Tourism is the major contributor to caral dieback. Hire a car, get out of the city and head down the south coast instead of the tourist trail north full of fake Australia and fake Australians who only care about how much they can get out of you. Or drive to Sydney the coastal way up through Lakes Entrance Mallacoota into NSW and up the coast through Wollongong to Sydney. Down the unknown road you will be seen as friends and not tourists with money. There still is Australia in some places, most have slowly become 'just another tourist trap' unfortunately.

    • @AbroadWithBen
      @AbroadWithBen 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi there! Thanks for your comment. To be honest, I agree with much of what you said especially about some of the tourist traps and overpriced places. It's very true, sadly! Your suggestion about hiring a car and driving around the south-eastern coast and towns is a great idea and an awesome way to see some of the lesser-known areas of the country. My intention in this video was to show some of the famous cities and attractions, and a few other places that are less well known to foreigners. Someday, I'll make a part 2 about some other less touristic places with a focus on Australia's unique nature and landscapes. Thanks again for your comments, I appreciate this kind of feedback and suggestions.

      @@AbroadWithBen I totally gave up on Mexico. I can't bring myself to go to a country being take over by the cartels who have military power and money, and have bought off police, politicians, agencies, etc. etc. It's like a cancer taking over the whole country step by step. Colombia is now a massive improvement, and videos have shown me the special appeal of Pereira.

      Sorry to hear that about Mexico 😞 Although I haven’t yet been to Pereira, I’ve heard it’s in a very beautiful part of the country with lower costs of living than the bigger cities like Bogotá and Medellin. I’ve lived in cities that are similar in size to Pereira and they were nice but had more frequent infrastructure problems (like electricity and water issues), but hopefully Pereira is a bit more developed. @AbroadWithBen หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there. I agree with you, and it wasn't my intention at all to sound like I was generalizing about ALL of Colombia. I've lived in and visited several cities and towns throughout the country, and in the video I wanted to talk about some of the common traditions and customs I've seen throughout the country, but you're right, every region, town, and city has their small differences in culture, traditions, customs, foods, and much more. I'm sorry to say I haven't yet visited Pereira but it's definitely on my list of places to visit sometime in the next 12 months, so stay tuned, I'll make a video about it when I eventually get there.

    I would add to your comments about the echidna (spiny ant-eater) that they are a very unusual egg-laying mammal or monotreme. That places them with the platypus as the only egg-laying mammals on earth.

      Hi Mikey! I didn't know that! Thanks so much for the info; that's really cool to know! I'm definitely not claiming to be an expert on Australian wildlife so I could only share a few of the facts I knew, but this is really interesting! Thanks!

    Guys, I had an amazing time making this video for you about some wild and crazy animal moments from my home country, Australia! It brought back some amazing memories of my childhood when I was lucky enough to raise pet kangaroos (yes, seriously!), and it's been fun teaching you about some of the cute and not-so-cute animals from my home country.... like crocodiles,. cassowaries, snakes, spiders, and of the worst of all, the ferocious drop bear! This video has it all! Check it out and if you have any questions about Australian animals or life in Australia, leave me a comment below. I'd love to hear from you!

      Gracias. No sabía eso. Pensé que una libra es alrededor 450 gramos en todo el mundo, pero no sabía que es diferente aquí. Gracias por informarme 🙏😀

    This place is actually delicious! A bit pricey by Colombian standards, but tasty and fresh. It was crowded like it was in your video when I went, so that made me pretty happy, that it got that kind of reception :) We need more spots like this in the USA!

    WOW! This flower display at the Medellin Botanical Gardens was phenomenal! This is one of the main events of the annual Feria de las Flores (Medellin Flower Festival) which runs for 10 days each year in Medellin, the city of eternal spring! Watch the video and be blown away by the floral masterpieces created by the talented people of Medellin! Be sure to subscribe because each year I'll be filming new events from this fascinating festival! And by the way, in this video, I'll show you some classic Colombian street food snacks that you need to try! What's your favorite?
