How much of this is on the exam? Gross weight, braking distances depending on the size of vehicle, guaging distance by seconds etc... are those facts on the exam? Do we have to know the amount of ft. Distance of braking?
By today, 2023-11, the exames are taken on the same day you watch the videos. You have 3 chances for each test and for the final as well. It's 8, 10, and 23 questions for the tests. I'll have the behind the wheel today. I don't know how it is. You have to put in practice what you've learn.
What a lovely company! Im sure they dont mistreat and overwork their employees, to the point where an ambulance is constantly stationed outside for workers who suffer stress fractures or heat strokes
Amazon delivery drivers are the worst. Mine makes u-turns in my front yard. There's the street, a sidewalk, then my yard. He goes over the sidewalk and 2-4' into my yard leaving deep tracks. This isn't just "oops" slightly past the sidewalk into my yard. It's been 4-5' sometimes. Complete disrespect. I've contacted Amazon, including emailing the CEO. Nothing changed. I don't know whether to report it to the police, or sue Amazon in small claims court for some "repair" of the damage (relatively slight). Or, put some tire spikes in my yard. (The problem with that is it won't cause an immediate flat. The driver won't know why it happened. He'll keep being a jerk. And, it will cause the remaining deliveries to be delayed. Plus, there's some liability to creating a hazard on my property. An unintended harm could happen.). This whole "subcontractor" delivery stuff is great for the business. Amazon can say "it's not us." They don't have any skin in the game. The drivers don't care. It's not like a career for them. It's just a gig they do. There should be more accountability.
Look the driver work for contract company who's beholden to corporate company Amazon who has passed on all responsibilities and liabilities to said company for probably a discount on the price, than Amazon expects these companys to deliver on high expectations. Those companies in turn have to put those same expectation on the drivers, if want to know what it's like to be a driver just go be a driver all you need to is go through the training process and complete the ride along and maybe the solo if your still around by than and you'll understand. You will come to understand why there is a high turn over rate in every labor postion in amazon, i believe. Trust me, I have to say don't anything else, go work at Amazon for just one week that's 2-3 of training and 2-3 of work and you will have all the answers you need or you'll ask a whole alot of new questions.

I forget half of this when I’m out there delivering and frustrated. Especially when I have to back-up on narrow main roads and in driveways. It’s much MORE stressful and frustrating than what they’re talking about.
It's silly that someone is going to take an exam and the person who gives you the training, firstly, doesn't speak your language, secondly, the coach is not supposed to skip the training videos, thirdly, you won't know anything when the coach gives you the proof. I couldn't pass the exam the first day. I can't work for that reason?

I just found this and I start training next week, perfect timing 😌. Now I have my notes before going in for Day 1 💯✊🏾 Notes ARE allowed during the test!
Update: Just finished my Day 1 training 6/29/22 and this is the Exact video you will watch 1st! There are about 4-5 more videos you will have to watch as well. The test is very easy and last 20min (took me about 5). They want you to pass!

The driving test is also very easy as you will be driving 5mph thru traffic cones and they will guide you thru it turn by turn. They actually want everyone to pass. My entire training class passed. The hardest part is sitting thru so many long videos than again on the test. After train is over, they told me to forget everything I had learned and showed me a “new” way to load my van so the bags won’t fall and it can fit more bags. Sooner or later, you should look into UPS, FedEx, or the Post office. They all pay better and don’t micro manage with the DriverI cameras. Every time another driver comes to take bags off your van, they will take money out your check and give it to the coworker. No breaks with my DSP not even lunch. If you are not dropping off a certain number per hour they make you an extra which means you go home without pay for the day. Also my Instructor made it clear that he never actually been a driver before so the Instructors have no idea what it’s like to actually deliver!
Welp, 1 month in and I’m no longer with Amazon’s 3rd party DSP (Delivery service partner) in OKC - DOK4 branch! I was not allowed any lunch breaks during my 10 hour shifts, they would force my coworkers to take packages off my van toward the end of the week (rescue drivers) and send me home to intentionally stop me from making a full 40 hours. When I asked about only having 20 hours as a full time employee, they made me into an “extra” sending me back home (30-45min away) without pay. Overall Amazon itself is amazing, but if you get a bad DSP you’re screwed. Always remember, there are many more job opportunities out there!! Don’t let them work you only when they need you during prime week!

The bags at my station are placed however they feel that night. So most days I have to check and move everything around because it's normally wrong. But that doesn't stop them from rushing us.
As someone that worked in the warehouse and now a driver I can tell you that they rush us to have totes on carts. Also because some bags weigh more than others it’s hard to put the in order without the bags being damaged due to the weight.

Nowadays, 2023, they have cameras allover the van to make sure the driver is driving accordingly.

The final exam was a breeze on all 4 of my test.i got 100% driving course tomorrow

Here in Belgium we have QR codes on trolleys / carts which includes all the packages in one scan, both for overflow and bags

Our minimum score was 80.. 24 question exam and could only miss 5.

Not sure what you mean. Do they want you to have 2 forms of ID?
2 would be Drivers license and a Social Security card.
