Johnson County Developmental Supports, or JCDS, is an agency of Johnson County Government that serves people with intellectual & developmental disabilities. We focus on individuals' abilities, provide choice-driven supports & advocate alongside people to live & work in Johnson County, KS.

Why Should You Hire People With Disabilities? [Vocational Rehabilitation at JCDS]
Why should you hire people with disabilities? Hear from various employers on how their company has benefitted when they chose to hire people with disabilities.
Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) is a program that helps people with disabilities
obtain the skills and other resources they need to get a job, keep a job, and develop
a long-term career. Meaningful employment can empower people with disabilities by fostering independence, building confidence and create a sense of value within the community.
Johnson County Developmental Supports (JCDS) employment specialists are specifically trained to support individuals with disabilities and play a crucial role in the vocational rehabilitation program. Once a job is secured, they will assist the employee with onboarding and training for the first 90 days, ensuring that the individual feels comfortable, confident, and capable of fulfilling their job responsibilities.

Savannah is an amazing staff for our daughter. The answers she gave about treating others with kindness and respect is how she lives her life. She absolutely deserves this award.

I am going to say the same thing I have said many times and Debbie knows I feel this way. Ok here goes, The CDDO should be a completely separate organization and not a part of JCDS. That is a conflict of interest. Debbie Slifer Thank You for hanging in there thru all of our struggles with Allie and helping us get it all straightened out. I know at times I had to be your worst nightmare, but it was about my child and you got that. You got that I wasn't going away, and that I wanted this to work more than most for my own reasons. Thank you again Lady. God Bless you on all your endeavors.
