Opinions will always vary because different people love different aspects of the Bond films. Dalton was a good Bond but he wasn't given top notch material to work with.

Definitely my favourite Bond, and Licence to kill is by far my favourite Bond film. It's gritty, hard core, realistic, dark and suave. It's just a shame property of a lady was never produced. It sounded like it could have been an awesome film, hopefully they will make it into a game to compensate for the film never making it to our screens. My sister bought me a video set of the Bond films, from Dr' no - the world is not enough, I'm looking out for the world is not enough and die another day on tape. I do like the Daniel Craig films, just not as much as the original theme that is! I prefer the classics over the newer ones!

Dalton opened up my understanding of the role. I went back and actually read Fleming when he came along as bond…. Because he did and I wanted to se what he was trying to do. Really added value

Everyone talks about Pierce Brosnan, Sir Sean Connery "looked" like the ideal James Bond. But to me, Timothy Dalton actually behaved like James Bond.

Loved Sam Neill’s performance as Alan Grant in Jurassic Park and was amazed by his performance as Chester Campbell in Peaky Blinders.

The Living Daylights is my favourite Bond movie, and despite no matter what people say I still think that Timothy Dalton is one of the best Bond actors in the whole Bond francise. While Sean Connery is considered the quinesential Bond, which nobody can doubt as Connery was the first actor to play Bond, Dalton's interpertation of Bond is much truer to the novels.

I think dalton was one of the worst bonds, mostly since everything else he's done since then proves that he might have been a little too talented to be bond. Also, he's better in the "scheming" roles. Be it bad guy or good guy. SHIT, I JUST WATCHED HIM IN SOMETHING, not Hot Fuzz, oh right DOOM PATROL. AND damn does he play asshole great in that. I think that's the problem, he's got a very sinister face like Ian Mc whatever.

I wish he'd done a few more Bond films.

He was a superb Bond ....but to me they All made a Great Bond. I couldn't choose any favorite. They all nailed it. Right up to the present.

Second only to Connery and possibly the best looking Bond.Definitely the most brutal in keeping with the character.

Why was he such a great Bond? Maybe because he was the best actor by a long shot that ever had the role. By the time he did Living Daylights, he had played opposite Peter O'Toole and Katherine Hepburn and Anthony Hopkins in "The Lion in Winter" in '68; and went on to Shakespeare *all live on stage* in Merchant of Venice, Richard the Third, Macbeth, King Lear, Henry V, Romeo and Juliet, Henry IV, and many more. Connery brought his intensity and that certain something to the role, Craig did the same, and we loved them both; but NOBODY brought anything remotely close to the pure theatrical chops and experience that Dalton had, either before or since.

He had the best bond smile. Funny how when she does shaken it looks like she is you know.
