Lumine did not become evil, it's far to simple understanding of the story. Lumines fate is tied to what happened in Khaenri'ah more so than her sibling. Lumine tried to save Khaenri'ah and was punished for it, the cutscene at the beginning of the game is her trying to run away with Aether. I actually think the other sibling was made in Khaenri'ah with the art of Khemia something Rhinedottir is still trying to correct. Lumine sacrificed her powers to become an Abyssling and she did that to not be tied to the fate Theyvat has ordained. The story that would make most sense is that Paimon is the Sustainer of Principles goubafied and fished up from a lake. She made that sacrifice to separate the two of them. The arrogation of mankind is therefore the other sibling you chose at the beginning of the game. Dainsleif travelled with Lumine and found out that she is the reason for the calamity and chose to not protect Khaenri'ah for that reason. "Command me show me that you are worthy of saving her, and all the threads of fate shall be yours to reweave" I actually think this hints that Dainsleif and Nibelung is the same person because it was the dragons that ruled over Theyvat and it's stated in game that Nibelung was corrupted by forbidden knowledge it so happens that Dainsleif has that corruption on him
