GETTING A HOLIDAY VISA AND USING VFS GLOBAL
Thank you for the vid. Just a couple of observations from first hand experience of pulling someone out of Go Go bar employment in Bangkok this year: - The need to get as many lady drinks as possible (to get a share of the revenue) will turn any Go Go bar worker into an alcoholic. As they only get two days off per month, they will potentially drink alcohol for 28 days - alcoholism is thus prevalent, setting young people on a destructive path of addiction. - if they want a day off they have to bar fine themselves, which is predatory. - The Go Go bar would not release the person concerned - they weren't just free to go - until a fee of 30,000 baht was paid (despite many days of bar fines having been paid to the bar, for the period of our travel to Hua Hin and Pattaya). Again, a predatory tactic. - The person involved really has embraced the training I've organised, and is getting good results. They were being bullied by their fellow bar staff, and are pleased to be out of the industry. Thank you.
not an easy life! During Covid a few found big earnings on only fans! Changed the whole scene!
Thumbs up 👍
Sharples is best fish & chips in pattaya.
Nice place Sandy. Please don't put the pressure of the camera on you when your eating. Is that an Aberdeen red the nice lady has on today after Wednesday night.
My friend. OA visas are done outside of thailand. The O visa is done inside thailand. OA visa can not be done inside thailand. Unless that has changed recently. These are 2 different visas
This is part of the whole liberal push to get far left liberals from the UK ( the party that ruined that country) like this guy to trash Trump and try to interfere in our elections. The Democrats have actually been flying in their Stimer pals from Parliament. Great job those clowns have been doing in the UK. We Americans have seen what stupid liberal policies have done to your country and our own, and we aren’t about to put some WEF puppet in charge. Mind your own business dude. Too bad you chose to ruin your channel with such stupidity, hatred and ignorance. But kinda what the lefties do now isn’t it.
Just ruined your channel for me with this hate filled video. Won’t be watching you anymore. Didn’t know you were such a hateful person.
This is a pretty disgusting video full of an obvious hate for Americans. What’s with the Brits? Poor red headed step children from a country that’s not even worth visiting anymore it’s gotten so bad there. Don’t lecture us on our own constitution A hole! Keep your sick hate to yourself old man. Reporting this video to TH-cam.
its a pity you couldnt stay away from doing an opinion piece on American politics mate ,, youve covered some interesting subjects on life in Thailand up to this point . i dont know if youre trying to please the TH-cam management who are a very obviously left leaning organisation but remember you are an aging person in cognitive decline who is having trouble stringing two sentences together . Whats the point in making yourself less appealing by alienating a large part of youre potential audience ?
America has woken up, which is why Trump is about to win in a landslide. He will free the energy industry, and sideline the war machine, just like he did before. Although Thailand is surrounded on all sides by communist countries, America helped the king keep the communists out of Thailand. Gun ownership rates in Thailand are similar to America. Thailand is the America of Southeast Asia. Good times are ahead.
I was agreeing with everything you were saying until you mentioned Trump. Im a Brit living in Thailand and you couldn't be more wrong about Trump, he's the only hope for America and never started a single war when he was President unlike these clowns in power now. Everything else you said was spot on but oh my, how wrong you are about Communist Kamala! 😡👍
I don't understand your hatred of the USA. Whilst the USA is not perfect, somebody has to lead the world. I'd rather have America than Russia or China as the world dominant force.
No one needs to be the dominant force, all countries should do their own thing and work together. Anybody with a brain cell knows the US government are the world's biggest terr*rists and always have been, no matter red or blue so as far as them being the world's self appointed police, no thanks! I'm a Brit living in Thailand and Vietnam and some of the most loud, obnoxious arrogant people I've ever met were Yanks, which didn't surprise me one bit, believe me, very few people around the world look up to America even though Americans think they do 👍
If you ask most Americans under 30 they think the US won the Vietnam war. Yet, surpringly, half the American expats you meet in Thailand claimed they served in "'Nam".
I read that the single state of California has a bigger economy than the country of the UK. The poorest state (Mississippi) has a higher GDP per capita than the UK as well. I don''t know, those Americans sound pretty clever to me. Jealousy and envy are sins. Let's make America great again.
They say that everything in America is bigger, especially the prisons and asylums.
And their heads 😂😂😂@@matthewmiles9626
Sandy, As an American who's not a brainwashed Trumptard, I totally agree with your comments. But it's not just America that is possibly going to lose democracy and be a white surpremist agenda. This is now a worldwide phenomenon seen in Europe as well.
Great analysis. You have clearly seen the world with eyes wide open. Trump personifies all that is wrong with Americans. Ignorant, racist and full of themselves. Totally lacking in empathy with an overblown sense of superiority. Of course, there are many good people in America but the vast majority are too busy chasing the dollar to have time for anyone around them let alone look at themselves and understand how awful their country is. No wonder most of the world hates them.
The blind leading the blind Sandy. They're selling so you'll never get the real story. Tell the lady in the nice shirt I was asking for her.
Thumbs up 👍
Hi, just stumbled across your channel. I like it. Fellow Scot, ex North sea oil worker also married to a Thai and also have a (small) youtube channel. Subscribed 👍
Reentry form is TM8 not TM2.
Regarding gambling, your advice is out of date. Gambling laws have just changed and you are now allowed to gamble in Thailand.
9:44 The word ฟรั้ง (farang) is of Persian origin, derived from the word فرنگ (farang), which was used by Persians to refer to Europeans, especially those from the West. Initially, it denoted the Franks, a Germanic tribe, but later encompassed all Western Europeans. In Thai, it evolved to encompass foreigners, particularly Westerners. Today, it commonly describes Caucasians or people of European descent in Thailand.
Actually farang comes from how Thai people pronounce France, or Farangset. The French were the first light skinned Europeans to visit Thailand, and the farang, or French, come from Farangset, or France. Has nothing to do with Persia
I'd rather live in Portsmouth than that hell hole Pattaya
That is a surprise. Being ex RN I have an affection for Pompey and the surrounding areas. At the end of our holiday this year we spent four days in Pompey. areas around the city centre are badly run down. Cost of living is through the roof. The weather hurts! So I will opt for Pattaya. BUT, yes, Pompey is still in my blood!
Easy if you are wealthy or have heavy pensions coming in, they won't tell you that here!
Money matters wherever you live. Cut your cloth by your budget!
Pattaya was getting quieter before Covid and since it seems very quiet, a lot of friends you would see year in and year out have not returned and i see this trend continuing with Pattaya not being the cheap destination it once was.All the best
Totally agree Paul. Pattaya has changed and is still changing. Chinese , Korean, Arabs, India and Russians now dominate the scene. Oh, a few hundred empty bars still exist!
You said you purchased a townhouse in Pattaya. I assume as a foreigner - if it was on your name - you can only own the house but not the land. How is your experience (seems to be since long time) with this special legal construct so far? Any disadvantages or would you recommend same for any of us foreigners (who prefer house over condominium)?
@@Mikael-Europe You cannot buy house, buying the house and leasing the land is not owning the property, through a business is very dodgy and you still do not own all of it
I purchased through a company, where I owned 49% shares and Thais owned 51%. Structured so that I was major share holder. Same as my current property, but this time the 51% is my wife and daughter.
@@wearetalkofthailand2764What you just described is 100% illegal I'm Thailand. Section 96 of the Thai land code specifically prohibits this. It is called Thai nominee structure. Good luck not getting caught

be a nobody in your own country... elevate yourself to superstar status in Thailand... nice....
Thai people cannot speak English most of them.big problem in Thailand and family my advice dont bother thank you bye the way oil workers are not nice people mostly
Farang w/anger problems is more a Pattaya thing, I would think. It's just a small shire that has little in common with the rest of this lovely nation.
Not so sure it is restricted to Pattaya. Would agree it is prevalent to Expat communities wherever!
Yes, l live 35k from udon thani up north ,on a beautiful village, house wife ,south Thailand is overrated comming from Australia we have the best beaches in the world also the islands, south Thailand beaches overrated.

Thank you, some very interesting and important considerations which are often overlooked
Glad it was helpful!
Methinks you were a seasoned monger.
Good or bad? thanks for commenting!
I am 74 and have lived here for almost 30 thirty years and agree with all that you say. Thailand is not for everyone but if you give it time and learn the Thai way of doing things you will have a wonderful life. Your great advice will help everyone considering living here.
Thank you Stephen.
Hi mate, just stumbled across your channel. Honesty we have very little in common. I’m half your age and not married to a Thai and don’t live in Thailand and not retired. With all that said, I thoroughly enjoyed your video. What clicked with me is you were in the oil and gas industry and I’m heavily invested in oil and gas and when you mentioned you were a bit of a loner. I consider myself a loner and very, very happy with my own company. Exploring and learning things on my own. I just wanted to say thank you, your video meant a lot to me. My wife and I are due to arrive in Pattaya in late January to start our longterm plans in staying in Thailand. We won’t stay in Pattaya for long maybe a few weeks but look for a longterm place maybe south of there. Hope to bump into you one day, would be great to have a coffee and chat.
Will look forward to that.
My thai wife of 13 years and I were miraculously blessed with a baby girl 4 months ago. Doctors told her for years she couldn’t conceive. So a father again at 65 (wifey is 33) already raised one daughter who’s a doctor in the U.S.! I can’t think of any better way to spend the last third of my life raising this new little angel! She gives me even more reasons to get up every day than the already awesome life I have here in Hua Hin. And my oldest daughter, with my 2 grandkids, actually made a visit over to meet her little sister a few weeks ago and they all fell in love with her! I highly recommend fatherhood as an older guy if you’re physically and financially up to it! Beats the heck out of sitting on a barstool all day!
Rather sit on a barstool
Allow me to explain further. For Thai people calling foreigners, it can be divided as follows: 1. White people or Caucasians, we call them “Farang”. (As your mentioned) 2. Black people, we call them “Negroes”. 3. People from the Middle East, India, including South Asia, we call them “Khon Kae”. 4. If we can look at their faces and distinguish their language, we will call them by their country, for example, people from China, we call them “Khon Jene”. 5. If we really can't tell the difference, we will call them all “Khon Tang Chad”. (Means Foreigners) Remarks “Khon means People”
Never heard a Thai say Negroes.
Thank you... everyday a school day!

Gambling is a big issue for some Thai women. My wife has a nephew. The nephew’s wife ended up owing a lot of money. She did have some property that the creditor was going to take. We ended up buying it for several 10 of thousands of dollars just to try and at least keep it in the family. No, I don’t think we took advantage of the situation. I know we actually overpaid for it. It got her out of some serious trouble and the family can still farm it. The money they make from the crops still stays with the family.
Well done Robert!
Good luck with that 😊
If you're ignorant, it will follow you no matter where you go. You done well Sandy but you need to get M a stylist. Tell the lady I was asking for her.
:-) She smiled.... Thanks
Enjoyed this video, very informative, are there other areas in Thailand that may enjoy a cooler climate, as you may have guest I'm not a lover of very high temperatures, although somewhere a bit warmer then the UK would be a bonus.
Lee I live here and for several years and still never get used to the heat. It's hot and hot again!!
Lee, nowhere is cool in Thailand but living on the coast affords you sea breezes. There are mountainous areas but the mountains aren't high enough to significantly lower temperatures. The north of Thailand may be a few degrees cooler but during the agricultural burning season the resulting air pollution is intolerable.
In the North is very much cooler, but a different way of life. Many enjoy it!
@@wearetalkofthailand2764 And smokey .
I spent a year as an expat in beautiful rural Mexico after a FEMA disaster (2018 Kilauea volcano eruption in Hawaii where I lost my home). Word got around in my small expat community that I was an RN. I spent no less than six harrowing taxi rides (you don’t want to get into a rural ambulance) to the nearest big city hospital 1.5 hours away. One guy died of a closed head injury on our way to hospital. My point is: the lack of medical planning in these older ex-pats was astounding! As we get older, we need more medical care, period. I have no empathy for these folks who actually could have afforded some type of medical insurance. They don’t realize also, that they will not get the quality of medical care the got at home. I just do not understand their lack of insight.
Getting older, as the risks increase the options decrease. It is something we should all consider but maybe solutions are difficult to identify?
that looks like those monster dangerous xl bullie beasts. they have mauled a lot of people.
German Boxer dog, very good nature!
Too much Fish & shit ..! for the first 4 & a half minutes .
This hits hard really hard while I sit here in a new country previously escaped from closed borders homeland to live with love of my life, having no insurance yet... When I suddenly started to feel severe pain in the body a month ago I knew I had to do ultra expensive surgery - turned out to be not so critical and probably can wait until I get my insurance in couple of month - but hey, that night that I started to feel the pain and counting all my possible medical bills - it was very very horrible night, very depressing, especially in comparison with the previous 6 months of love paradise. That said, It's unexplainably hard to be burying all of your life ambitions while keeping a straight face for your loved ones peace - not even talking about going through it all on your own. We have to deeply appreciate who and what we have in the moment, because these are the things we'll be crying about in the end.
I hope all goes well for you!
@@wearetalkofthailand2764 I hope all goes well to you too!!
