The rotator cuff is a set of tendons attached to the head of the humerus through which the arm can perform lateral elevation and rotation movements.

I’ve had 7 dislocations , one Labrum repair 4 years ago and two weeks ago I dislocated my shoulder again doctor recommended this surgery as a last resort. Getting this procedure done in two weeks

@@TheInmortalVerse I’m on week 3 . First night was horrible I was admitted into the hospital for the night and discharged the next morning. Meds helped alot . Pain is manageable after a couple days. 3 more weeks on the sling to go. I do feel a difference on my shoulder ! Thanks!

@@TheInmortalVerse Oh yes the labrum surgery was less much painful , I had little to no pain when I got it I was cleared within 3 months by the doctor and returned normally
I has the labrum repair three weeks ago and man, for me the first two days were hard , and still hurts a little sometimes. Let's see if It works..
54 ans, opérée il y a 3mois1/2 par voie antérieure je souffre toujours énormément. Impossible de marcher normalement. Il semble que plusieurs tendinites ou tendino-bursites séquelles de l'opération en soient la cause. Je dois passer une échographie mais j'ai perdu l'espoir de remarcher normalement et de pouvoir reprendre le sport. C'est fini....😢

Bonjour, j'ai eu une rupture totale de la coiffe avec rétractation du muscle le chirurgien à Avignon ne veut pas m'opérer car j'ai 70 ans. Je souhaite absolument être opérée, pensez-vous que ce soit possible en dégageant de toute responsabilité le chirurgien. Peut-être à l'étranger je suis ouvert à toute proposition. Je ne veux pas rester avec un bras qui pend dans le vide le reste de mes jours.

Chirurgie de l’épaule : y-a-t-il une limite d’âge ? En cas de prothèse d’épaule, jusqu’à quel âge peut-on espérer subir une intervention ? Contrairement à ce que l’on pourrait penser, il n’existe pas de limite d’âge pour avoir accès à la chirurgie de l’épaule. L’état de santé général importe davantage que l’âge, comme pour la plupart des interventions sous anesthésie générale. Si on est en bonne santé à plus de 85 ans, il n’y a pas de problème pour subir l’intervention chirurgicale et se faire poser une prothèse. D’ailleurs, la chirurgie n’est indiquée qu’à partir du moment où le traitement médical (antalgiques, infiltrations) n’a plus d’effet. Elle devient alors nécessaire pour retrouver un certain confort dans le mouvement de l’articulation. La prothèse d’épaule est d’ailleurs préconisée pour les personnes âgées. Cela permet en général de réaliser moins d’interventions. Bonjour, l'opération sera choisie ou non par votre chirurgien en fonction de votre âge, niveau d'activité et d'autres facteurs... quoiqu'il en soit, vous ferez de la kiné pour votre épaule. Avec une rééducation bien réalisée vous pourrez reprendre la musculation dans le futur ! Le tendon ne se régénèrera pas seul, mais sans chirurgie un renforcement de l'épaule permettra de pallier le manque du SE Bon courage pour votre rééduc !

To all the people who are here before their surgery, I was in a very similar boat as you. I underwent surgery in sept 2023, as of today, jan end 2024, I have regained most of my movements, and the problem has gone away completely. What remains is regaining the previous strength, and I am undergoing an exercise regimen for that and future looks hopeful. I am thankful to my physician. Choose your physician wisely and once you are in good hands, this surgery works wonders. Do remember you have to work through the initial pain post surgery, but it’s all worth it in the end. What helped me during the “pain days”, was not skipping the exercise(it was light opposing forces exercises, where you put pressure on your muscles but don’t move your limbs), and it made everything easier. And of course family members, who cared and stood by my side. I wish you all the best.

@@FunkyXF pretty well, i’m 2,5 months post-op and I almost have full ROM (i’ll take me about 3/4 weeks for that). Lots of pain first 2 weeks (get a shoulder ice pack from amazon) and lots of swelling. Started PT a months afterwards, I’m a PT and coach as well so I kinda know what to do (also from my previous surgery) so I only went like 1/2 days per week but worked rom exercises everyday at home. First month was all ROM work and muscle treatment and then moved to light exercise with bands and little weights. I now have my own training program, and keep going like once a week to PT and other day a colleague helps me at home. I exercise almost everyday. @@1ukasvn thanks bro! Yea im also doing lots of fitness, mobility and coaching on my own. Right now im 4 weeks post dislocation and im having full rom without a feeling of instability. Before my last bankart fix i was completly untrained and the shoulder was unstable af Im trying to resolve it with PT first and use the latarjet as last resort as i don’t want to do it until i have sub or luxations in my daily live but i guess at some points i will have to do the jet. Keep me updated and i hope your getting back to before asap!
