If you have been making a batch of Chili the same way for about 45 years, then I guess you could say it's a keeper. And this one is for certain! Yes, this is family friendly. Not one of those burn your tonsil on the way down chili's but one everyone enjoys, even the kids. I have given my recipe out multiple times because everyone loves it. Traditional New England Clam Chowder
มุมมอง 4853 ปีที่แล้ว
I have strong feelings about what ingredients should be in a traditional clam chowder and what should not be included. The fewer the ingredients the better the taste. You want clams to be the star of the show with a supporting cast of salt pork, onions and potatoes. Half and half cream provides the perfect richness and creaminess so essential to clam chowder. 45 minutes is all you need to prep ...

Roasted Red Pepper and Garlic Hummus

This delectable Hummus is one of my favorite spreads. The roasted red pepper gives it an additional boost of savory flavor and the garlic lends a subtle background flavor. French Onion Chip Dip

My husband just said "This stuff is so good it should be illegal!" He's right! This French Onion dip is incredibly delicious and does not resemble store bought in the least. You place chick peas in water with a bit of baking soda and the shells float to the top. This can be done stovetop in boiling water or even by letting the peas sit in water. It super simple. It only takes a few minutes. The hummus turns out super creamy. I prefer the grainy texture but some cultures prefer creamy.

Almost how my mother taught me. I do soak them overnight and the next morning drain the water and add fresh. I add the ingredients except the salt port and molasses and parboil, Add the beans to the pot, then the molasses and the pork, 4 hours covered and 2 uncovered adding water when needed. Almost the same but I use a bean pot as well, I have 2 sizes. I have tried other methods they just do not seem to taste the same. Now I need to make some after watching this
