Does the Yamaha YZ250f make a good woods bike???
Probably should have got a XC-W, map is a little milder and suspension softer.
You have a beautiful terrain to ride in😃👍
Thank you 👍
Is this bike premix ??? Or it’s got oil pump
@@pirixmartian4457 the tx is premix
brembo brakes? is this the Pro version?
@@KXCvin-W all the "25's TE's come stock with Brembo now.
@@whiskeythrottledave Thats awesome bout time. the brake techs sucked. I have a 2020 250 with magura they arent the best either but i love my TE.
@@whiskeythrottledave damn i ordered the Pro not realizing this lol
@@paulbaker7489 congrats on the new sweet bike!
Nice bike! What ramp and steps are those?
@@benjaminparrinello318 It's called a Stepramp.
Initial thoughts on how the power feels compared to the tx you have? I know they’re down on overall hp but I care more about the low/mid end than the up top screamers
Both bikes are very close down low to mid power. The TX/XC have more power in the upper power range. Have almost 10 hours on TE now.
Been loving mine. I agree. The white map is perfect for Colorado.
Why did you go back to the husky, is there much difference between your Ktm xc and the tx? Thanks! Your video are great to see how the bikes run doing trails.
@greatsouthernsky thanks for the kind words! There is really no reason but getting some extra cash between friends
@@whiskeythrottledave do the bike ride the same? Looking at purchasing xc or tx.
@@greatsouthernsky If you get a '24 they both have brembo, so very close to the same. That's the way to go. TX sits lower which works well with my short legs.
One of my favourite trails! I’ll have to try the side single track at the top
Yeah it's a favorite of mine too!
Where is the location of this trail? North Carolina?
@@lucasbarbosa-go6ts No, it's just west of Calgary Alberta
Wait till ha got a grizzly on your ass HOSS. See if ya putting it around in 1st then !1!1!1
Tried lots of the 2020 through 2023 300s and none react like the 18 300xc with a solid tuned carb i run i hope this one has the hit off the bottom like the carbed bikes
@@hiby5700 I've had them all..You can't beat the torque on the new Xc's.
Cool seeing elk crossing the trail. 10min in. Great trail
What GPS do you have installed?
Avenza maps I use
Do you have a favorite out of all the bikes you've owned? I've rode 4t most of my life, looking to try a 2t for hare scramble racing.
That's a tough one. Most of the new bikes are really good. Currently the '24 300 XC is my favorite. Hope to do some harescrambles with 350 this year.
Can I asked what is the model number of the Trail Tech fan you installed on the XC?
It is the universal trail tech fan.
And i thought only New England had alot of roots ha.
Where did you get your graphics at?
The graphics are from my '23 KTM 350xcf factory edition. You can get same graphics from eBay which I have done this winter.
I’m looking at the 2024 and trying to decide between the XC and the ECW. A lot of the writing I do is desert but definitely technical Rocky stuff. I like not having the linkage for technical writing. Other than that I think they’re pretty close, but just curious why you chose the XC versus the XCW?
Hi there, I actually prefer the linkage suspension. Bike squats down better going down steep hills and seat height is slightly lower. I also like that the xc is premix. Don't have to worry about a oil pump failing on the trail. The XC is slightly lighter and has 9 more hp which is quite a difference.
I wanted the XC-W but prefer the linkage over pds and prefer premix over the oil pump. prefer the lighter weight of the xc too. considering the transmission is no different between xc and xcw I guess I'll grab an XC instead... or maybe a TE 300.. if only the yz 250x had counterbalanced shaft / hydro clutch / electric start... @@whiskeythrottledave
how is the suspension feel?
Suspension is a little stiff for me at 160 pounds. Just got lighter springs installed and a revalve. Can't wait to try new suspension in the spring.
would you recommend the Ktm 300 XC or husy 300 te?
There both great bikes! Depends what you want. XC is more aggressive. Te has a softer suspension and more mellow power band
@@whiskeythrottledave sounds like I’ll be going with the XC. Thank you.
It’s been seven months how do you like it?
It was a good bike, just didn't like the braktec brakes. Sold it to a buddy awhile ago.
The brakes were that bad?
@@nightrider4370 Front brakes are not the greatest, but wasn't the reason I sold the bike. If you check my channel, I don't keep bikes for very long lol!
That bike sounds sweet. How many bikes do you have?
Whare did you get the redbull graphics
I took the shroads off my 350 factory edition
Wow yeah that can creeps up hills if you want it too. How do you like the suspension for the slow stuff
It's a little stiff for my weight at 160 pounds. Probably going to revalve and put lighter fork springs in this winter.
Nice video. 👍
Thanks man!
The changes I made to my 2015 YZ250F for trails were a throttle tamer, FMF Q4 pipe, trail tires, and gearing the bike up from stock (to 14/48). The pipe and tamer made the biggest difference in smoothing out the initial throttle. Stock I found the throttle to be very jerky and hard to use on the trail. Takes some work but the YZ250F can be a pretty good trail bike. The close ratio transmission is limiting and stiff suspension needs to be reworked as well, so it may be worth to just get the FX if you can find one used at a good price. Personally I found the FX bikes to be way overpriced on the used market so went with the F.
I am waiting for my delivery of a 24 TX 300. Have you had any issues with the fuel pick up being high in the tank? I was a little concerned and also wondering why KTM would do something like that and not have a fuel pick up hose down to the lower sections of the tank! Thanks for the video, can't wait to get mine
Hi there, no I have had no issues with either of my tbi bikes regarding fuel pickup issues and as far as I know neither has any of my riding buddies that have the new tbi bikes. Congrats on the new TX!
@@whiskeythrottledave Awesome. Takes some worry off my mind for some longer rides/races. Thanks for the info!
I wanted one until the 2024 lost eight horsepower compared to the 2023 model.
The '24 xcw lost 9 HP. Not the '24 xc shown in this video
That is good to know!@@whiskeythrottledave
How is the soft map compared to the tpi bikes?
Compared to my '23 300xcw the white map on the tbi definitely has more power everywhere in the power band but is still very manageable.
@@whiskeythrottledave I’m sure a tsp kit or a flywheel weight would help even more
@@whiskeythrottledave also curious how these new stock tbi bikes compare to a tpi with a tsp kit on. I guess I just need to find a demo event.
@@coalcountryrider Not sure. Don't even know anyone personally that has had the work done.
@@whiskeythrottledave I have it on my 20 xc and it’s a night and day difference.
Awesome content ! I’m looking to upgrade to one of these!
Thank you!
@@eighty_eight I’m not lying. The 300xc stock is practically unstoppable. It can tractor up stuff in third. The suspension stock with stock settings is better than my custom suspension on my older bikes.
Hi I have the same bike same yr. I’m thinking of going to 13 tooth front sprocket. What’s your opinion
Hi there, This might be the first bike where I don't change the gearing. I really quite like the new gearing. Personal preference of course though.
@@whiskeythrottledave I was out on it today and really noticed the difference in 2nd and 3rd. I was using 3rd a lot in the slow rooty/rocky stuff. Pretty happy so far. Thanks

@@whiskeythrottledave Okay… thank you
Those plastics look nice, did they come from the dealer like that? where did you get the Linkage protector ? I just bought the heritage model about 3 weeks ago and after only 2 hours on it I’m already have issues, it stalls on idle in neutral and in gear when pulling in the clutch but it its still the best riding bike I’ve been in.
I ordered the flo yellow plastic from my dealer. It is Husqvarna plastic. I also ordered the linkage guard from dealer, it is a KTM part that just bolts on to your stock linkage.
@@whiskeythrottledave thanks! Are those stock graphics too ?
@Richard Alvarez No they are decalmx graphics
Really like the yellow
I got the same bike. I like the yellow
Thanks!
How was the access to the air filter? Difficult?
When you buy the tank, you can a slightly different cover that makes access easier to air filter.
Hey, great ride! Love the yellow!
Thanks!
Looks great!
Thanks!
I want to buy one this year, but I don’t like the stock colors, so I really enjoy the yellow plastics and graphics .
@@jspreparednessandself-reli4856 Yeah there is too many colors on the stock bike for sure.

Congrats on the new bike. I like the yellow too ,really cool.

Is it required to cut the seat at the original tank cover position like the IMS ones?
No, you don't need to cut the seat thanks
🤘🤘
What kick stand do you have on there? I've been struggling to find one for the YZF's that isn't dangerous; most of them have a really light-duty spring that breaks off too easily.
It's a Fastway kickstand. I think it's the best stand on the market!
Perfect thanks for posting couldn't find a video either. As of now how has it worked for you? Now that you had it for a while thanks in advance
It worked well. But I sold bike awhile ago.
I’ll be curious to hear your thoughts compared to the new TBI motor!
