Old School Death Metal, Video Games and Anything Funny. In recent years I've acquired many great high gain amps through offerup and FB marketplace. This channel and the content I make is for people who are curious about what an amp may sound like without post processing BS. I've worked hard for my amps and gear. Check out my band

Tried to Dial a Nice OSDM tone on Crate Stealth 50
The mids are in a weird frequency and it's probably the most solid state sounding tube so far. The brand new JJ tubes I replaced them with... makes them sound alot more aggressive and fizzy. Not a good thing for me lol.

This is from what they are telling us and what we are seeing. I'm approaching this with logic and practical reasoning. I'm treating this topic as if they are actually sophisticated military drones.

I love a BC Rich Ironbird... Mine's Korean, made in the late 80s. Don't see these too often 🤘😎
Its not full tube amp. Preamp of the lead chanel is built by opamps, just inverter and power amp are tuby :) Thats why it sounds like SS.
Good riff dude
Best bc rich headstock!
Do you have a favorite distortion pedal? Like if you were stuck with a clean amp and had to pick a distortion pedal what would it be? I'm guessing you might say metalzone but I was curious if there's another you'd go for
@CryptToneMusic in all honesty a I keep a metalzone on my pedal board because it very well could save your ass if you need to borrow an amp or need to run the clean channel. AND nicely boost any marshall or crate. But the most used pedal live and what I strive for in personal tone is an 80s made in japan Boss DS1 or maybe even the turbo distortion.
@denialoflife666 thank you man I really appreciate the advice. I'm trying to put a cheap rig together that will be versatile and there's just so much info out there
Making me want one of these amps 😂 all the Lee Jackson stuff is so good
I hate to be one of those guys that freak out on tubes... but I'm really contemplating on putting the old tubes back in... the new jjs are just way too fizzy and aggressive. I wanna get that ampeg tube head too.
People used to talk shit on those amps in the mid-late 90s after they sold them all to used stores to get into grunge and nu metal. You could get them for 90-199 bucks all the time used back then.
You got Tampa’s 90s Death Metal tone in spades. Cheers from Morocco
F**k yeah!🤘
That old school pushed JCM 800 for some infernal old school death metal riffs is just outstanding. Cheers from Morocco and let the metal what ? Let the metal flow
Damn. Maybe it is just you. You might be one of those guys that would sound good with a rubber band stretched over a potato plugged into a toaster. If that sort of sound can be achieved with a modded Windsor and a boost. I have been wasting my money over the years.
Possessed the exorcist!💀👹👽😤
That tone sounds like it’s straight off of reign in blood 🤣 got that Jesus saves tone
Awesome ironbird can you make me one, i got a fretboard and awesome wood
Cool.
That WARLOCK Sounds and LOOKS JUST DEADLY BEAUTIFUL AND BRUTAL!!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘❤❤❤
Happy new year! Yes, the amp sounds awesome. And that Iron Bird is just amazing. Never owned BC Rich guitar but Iron Birds are something that I have been drooling over for a good while.
Tone is nice and crisp
I fucking hate that punck kick dumass shit. Nice playing.
that sounds soooooo fucking good I gotta take another round with my buddies windsor. what the hell
Sounds horrible too much gain and high end sounds like a two stroke Kawasaki not knocking the guitar playing just the EQ
Nothing will ever beat an Ironbird thru a peavey
The tone 😈😈👹👹
for the price it's a ridiculously good sounding amp. I parted with Dual Rectifier after 10 years of use and I'm absolutely sick of the modern sound. it's nice to see something bold and oldschool sounding.
how did u get one guitar with emg pickups? I have searched on bc rich site and they dont offer with those?
Sounds sick AF brother 🔥 Can you tell us more about the settings please ? Can't see anything on the amp even in fullscreen, and the pedals are on top of it.
Love the tones you got here. I have really been wanting to add a JCM 800 flavor of amp to my collection. I might have to look into this.
Sounds fuckin amazing
Its C-standart?
Very good
Man I had a Windsor and it did not sound half this good lol
Cool. And YAAAY Exodus
man you have some SICK gear. dank riffs. Peavey master race. That Jeff Hanneman neck looks right at home on that geetar. Cheers bubba!
FUCKIN SACRED REICH
Cool shirt. Necrology
Two stepping to this lol
I was about to say, it says keep hardcore outta metal but this sounds like a beat down hardcore riff lol
Do all legend guitar players own birds? I can hear your babies man. I have 4 conures and 2 budgies inside
What amp you rippn' on?
A Peavey Supreme 160 straight Swiss army knife
Love the avatar pic BTW. It's always a cold day in the good ol USA 😉
@@denialoflife666 all year round it snows..oh nooo my god!
Dang yeah that sounds really close. Awesome.
I just noticed the strap "pins". Fuck thats good!
@sinistrousdiabolus I noticed a Russian ironbird one review .. it was like a music store review and they used those... it's a little invasive and a little drill and fill but it kills the neck dive if you don't mind the new placement
These were dirt cheap here for a while, definately seems like it snoozed on them :(
@sinistrousdiabolus dude these amps are ugly as hell. Id still like to make it look more like a marshall box but yeah the marketing sucked on these amps but truly a Mississippi marshall
@@denialoflife666 Bro,how bad did the visuals go after the silver stripes.... honestly how ugly these things are definately didnt help! At least you dont have that creme panel as well :) Channel rules BTW. sick tones sick riffs
Sacred Reich had some brutal and killer riffing
Hardcore karate at shows is gay as shit
That riff is so underrated man but it truly is heavy as fuck, nevermind when the double bass kicks in......
Man that pushed Marshall tone cannot be beat
Fuck yeah death squad rips, your channel is sick bro .......respect.
Hell yeah! I will upload a short right now. Referencing that. Nice catch
how is the balance on your Ironbird? does it neck-dive when you let go of the neck?
I screwed those loop metal strap thingys and got rid of the neck dive
Suede leather strap gets rid of the neck dive on these guitars, Levys makes a good one, bought mine 20 years ago, never had a problem since.
I find it interesting you say solid state doesn't cut it live, most people keep saying tube amps are dead but I don't think they are. I've been thinking about getting a cheap solid state amp for live use but I been worried it just won't be enough. Maybe it would be for a rock band but I still feel like tube amps reign in extreme music.
I think it can work for people who don't scoop mids. Especially Randall's or maybe ampegs but I've just personally noticed it's more difficult with solid state amps to hear yourself.
@denialoflife666 i do scoop mids especially for the main genre I play which is horrorpunk. I've considered getting a solid state bass amp because they're high wattage, cheap, and small, then just hitting it with a preamp pedal. A lot of the classic solid states like the Randalls and Ampegs you mentioned are getting expensive these days actually rivalling the price of my "nice" tube amps. I want a cheap amp for sketchy gigs that's less likely to get stolen and the extra wattage might also be handy if I can't get a bassist.
If you like 800 type amps check out the Ampeg VL-1002. It's an 800 with more gain, mid frequency selector, and a clean channel and reverb. There's also the 1001 which is single channel which is more stripped down but still evil sounding.
I'm gonna have to buy that amp. Is it better than the crate?
@@denialoflife666 to me yes, plus it's all tube which to me means it's easier to work on. You'll hear a lot of people complain they're unreliable but they're not any more unreliable than like a 5150, they have similar issues which is just because companies were cheaping out it's easy to fix. They have more gain than you could ever need and one of my favorite things about them is the pinch harmonics especially when you push both gain controls and the low end past like 3 o'clock. The amp gets kinda fuzzy in a way I really like and the pinch harmonics just sound really unique and almost haunting and eerie. The 5 way mid selector is also really handy, it makes the amp super versatile, I've been able to get scooped metallica tones, all the way to like Slayer and even early Death type tones and it absolutely nails Misfits guitar tones from the 90's. It can do pretty much anything an 800 can do and more. It's honestly what Marshall themselves should have been making back then instead of the 900 series and the DSL. Another amp to look for is the Laney GH50L and GH100L, they're very similar sounding and theyre basically just an extra gain stage in front of an 800 style circuit.
@@denialoflife666 i've owned the VL and regret ever selling it. Blows the Crate Stealth out of the water. Absolutely one of the most unique amps out there. Just be sure to do the "heater mod". Easy to do if your handy with a soldering iron
The iron eagle inlays caught my eye! Also, we need to hear more vocals now!
