Brilliant! Really nice none. Smart idea to tack the nuts - although you’ll probably just leave them on all the time anyway, right?
Thank you Ed, yes I'll probably never take them off, but.. if in the future they do bend, and I make new ones I think would be the only time they'd come off.
Good day Ross and Family! Nice mod bud. I like your bandsaw setup, that's pretty sweet. No snow left here, none in forecast for 7 days yet! Have a great weekend!👍😊🍻
Thank you Mark. No snow here and a beautiful day so far. Thanks
Great idea! Like using a piece of steel plate that had holes already drilled! Content, video & editing continues to keep getting better!
I'm glad we keep old pieces laying around! And yes very happy the other holes were already there. I appreciate the encouragement and support!
They work great. Nice work Ross. I got a Plasma Cutter not to long ago and man it makes cutting out stuff like that so much easier! Switching my shop to Winter mode tomorrow. Plows out and ready to go. Firewood tote in. Have a good weekend.
Hey! Quiet! Don't be talking about Plasma Cutters! Aidan wants one really bad. You keep talking like that and he reads this, he might go get one! (Hey Aidan.. go get yourself a Plasma Cutter! 😁) Thanks Bob! We are happy with them for sure. We need this weekend to switch things over, and we'll be ready. I'll clean up the blower and put it on the BX. Have a super great weekend. 👍
@ 😂🤫
Did I hear something about a plasma cutter 👀😂 Congrats on picking one up Bob - which one did you go with? You’re right it would be perfect for jobs like this. 👍🏼
See! Now look what we did! 😁 Lol.
@@AidanMacRae Aidan I went with a Lotus LTP5000. 50 amp Pilot Arc. Cheaper one to see if I like it but am real happy with it. Cuts nice.
Im sure by now youve discovered that 3.5' is deep enough Here in PA, our line is 3' but that was from the 1900s, with recent climate last 10 years I suspect our PA frost line has gone from 3' to more like 1.5 at most. Escentially, the frost lines in the north east realistically are more likely about half of what they state them to be nowadays.
You are probably very correct on that. ... But I have this issue where if something bad is going to happen, it's usually to me, and at the worst time 😞 so yes in some places I wasn't able to go 4' deep and I just hope it doesn't bite me in a few years. Thanks for watching and I agree with your comments.
Nice brackets! I’m jealous. I really have a hard time drilling anything to my equipment. It’s like NOOOO! 😂.
I used to think that, then I decided the extra effort to try moving it around wasn't worth it and 4 small holes are acceptable to me.
The lifting eyes look good, it seems that it is never easy to cut a big hole. Welding the nuts on is a great idea. We have lots of tools for cutting metal but we always seem to end up with a cutting disk in the angle grinder
Haha. So true! Always the basics eh? Ya I think we'll weld them. Thanks Joseph. Have a great weekend.
Absolutely you need that on the back of the bucket towards the top on the back
That's a great idea. Thank you.
Nice job on making the lifting brackets. 👍🏻 great way to move the blower around. Nice looking Jeep in the background. Adain’s idea to weld the nuts in place is a great idea. Have a good day fellas. 👍🏻👍🏻👋👋
Thank you Noel, I think we'll tackle this stuff this weekend. Cheers.
Looks good. 👍 Don’t forget safety glasses! 👀
Always a good reminder! Thanks.
That’s what I’m saying - I keep telling him too!
Nice to see you using the guard with the zip cut blade Ross. That’s pretty well balanced picking it there. I was worried the back was much heavier. Nicely done Ross. I may just copy your exact plan for my set up. I like Ayden’s idea of welding the nut on the inside! Thanks for sharing. Cheers.
Ya the guard stays on and so do my fingers 😁 I'm very happy with the placement, I was lucky as I just guessed. Ya I think we will weld the nuts on. We'll see how it goes this weekend as we do the maintenance, and painting. Have a good weekend.
I mounted two chain grab hooks on my snow blower as soon as I received it; always good to have, especially when storage time roll 'round. ( I'll be back later to finish watching this video )
Thank you Reg! Have a great day and weekend
G'day Ross: I used lift straps for my blower unit. They work great and do not scratch the paint. I use the forks also. Good idea for the chain hook. That way you can go right through the eye. Maybe a smaller chain so that you do not have to raise the forks so high. Today I intend to move old firewood to the stump dump and use the leaf blower to blow the leaves out of the drainage trench on the driveway. Soooo much to do. Take care and stay safe. From the other end of the Valley. "Ice is on the pond now!"
Hello, ya I want to get straps. Especially after this weekend as I'm going to do the blower maintenance and painting of it. I need to get some leaves blown around as well. Have a great weekend.
Good morning Ross
It is Gary! And a good morning to you.
Nice job. You got lucky with finding a balance point for the lift.you might also use those short chokers Ed showed us, and startle the chute with the forks.
Thanks David. I sure did eh! That was complete guess work. But I'm very happy with how it turned out. Have a good weekend
Good morning Ross, Nice job on the lifting eyes. You have me thinking about ways I can use that idea for some of our equipment. Hello to Aidan. Have a great weekend, Ben 👋😎👍☕️❄️
Hi Ben, ya same with me. I was all in on dolleys, but now I'm rethinking and maybe using lift eyes on other things as well. Cheers and have a good weekend.
I’m making a wild appearance in the comments - Hey Ben, have a good weekend 👍🏼
Nice. Actually looks like a good balance.
I was pleasantly surprised 😆 thanks and have a good weekend. Stickers are in the mail!
Yep almost Snow time 👍❄️⛄️👌. Good Idea on the hooks
Yup almost here! I'm very happy with them. Full video Friday evening
Hi Ross, I like that you did it AND that you will let future Ross worry about it. I say you did a good job!
Thanks Margaret, I guess Future Ross will find out in 6 months.
Could you tilt your tiller ( or if you have a box blade) create a swale ?
Humm. I guess I could have tilted it a bit, that would probably work. And yes I have a box blade that I could have dragged over as well. Good ideas. Thank you.
Brilliant!
Thank you! I'm very happy with them.
Hi Canada 🇨🇦 Ross...I do like your property this path is beautiful! ... ❄️
Thank you I enjoy it as well.
It’s almost that time! I was just telling a friend of mine that I gotta get my cab on soon
Oh yes it is. Get on it before the ❄️
Are you jinxing us? Put that thing away. 😅
Haha!! Hey! How's it going? I think I remember you had snow a vid out before me last year! I'm just bringing it up to... You know... Look at it.
@RossOnTheLand 😂 very true. It'll be here before we know it. Have a great Thanksgiving my friend.
Same to you and your family
I would suggest "mowing" over the garden area with the Zero turn 1st, then till. The smaller the "organic" material the quicker it breaks down. Agree that bring in fill might have been a better way to go. Nice video angle!
Yes I should have definitely mowed it first then I wouldn't have had everything stuck on the tines. I think I'll need to bring in the top soil for sure. Thank you for the suggestions.
How's she goin'? That tiller is a fine piece of gear!! Not too sure if this was a mistake. In fact it looked like the thing to do to me. Maybe in the spring some topsoil could be added. Thanks for posting. Take 'er easy!!
Thank you Mike. We'll definitely see what it looks like in the spring. Hope you and Nanny are doing well.
It’ll settle in nice by spring time
Thank you. I hope so. Have a good rest of your weekend.
Haha. Yeah I think that 6 foot fresh till will all compact and sink. Would and roller might have been better. But… we will see! Enjoy the weekend Ross
Oh for sure! Should have just added soil to the ditch.. I even have the damn roller. But I didn't think of that one. Where were you 2 weeks ago 😊 Thanks Mike.
@ lol
The tiller works well. It may look a mess now but I think it will sort itself out in the spring. I know it is a log run but I think I would be thinking about installing a pipe
I thought about that, and if it becomes a problem I may do just that! Another trenching series maybe 🤔 thanks Joseph
Future Ross is gonna be mad at Current Ross... 😂 It's all good my friend. 🤜🏼🤛🏼
They fight constantly haha! 🤣 I'll just get Michelle to plant sunflowers
😂
You do like to make a mess right before the snow flys😅
Haha! Absolutely! 😁 Have an awesome weekend.
Hey Ross looks like you have a situation there. I’m jealous of that tiller. Maybe plant sunflowers all the way along. 😊
Ya I said that to Michelle 😁 we'll see what she wants to do with it. 🌻
I have found the following process works well for tilling overgrown areas. 1. Brush hog, then wait 2 weeks 2. Disc, then wait 2 weeks 3. Till
Thank you I really should have chopped it all up first. Thank you. Have a great weekend
Winter mode will be soon. Bring topsoil in next spring and do it up. 👍🏻👍🏻👋👋
Yes very soon. I think that's what I'll do. Have a good weekend.
👍🏻👋
I’m curious if you’ll get washout when the rains come and the sump runs. Good job though!
It hasn't washed out that far yet, and hopefully it won't :) Thank you Ed.
I think it was a good idea Ross! Sometimes you need to break eggs to make an omelet!! Best, -- J. Andre. / Old Iron Acres
Very well said. Thank you. I like eggs 😋
@@RossOnTheLand -- Hahahah. Me to... with steak!
Perfect meal! 🥩
No, you didnt anything wrong, till it in again then go get some top soil and level it out, let it sit through the winter and hit it with a landscape rake and let the grass come back in=perfect.
Thank you for the support. I think that's a great idea. Have a great weekend
Hey Ross, Greetings from the other side of the pond! (Australia). Just wanted to say i really enjoy your videos. Always good to see like minded hobby homesteaders getting it done. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for watching and commenting! And thank you for letting me know where you are watching from. I really enjoy taking care of my 6.5 acres, very rewarding. Have a great weekend Lewis
That rototiller does a nice job!
Thank you! I'm very happy with it, but it's now hibernating, have a good weekend
You know that torch that you used a couple back, might work for clearing tines. Hose at the ready though. Run your box blade over that old drain way might clean it up. Cheers bud, loading up the mini in tomorrow's vid. Still trying to get to 500! 😢 🌴🇨🇦👍😂🪵
Oh! Ya I should try the torch. It's a mess. Getting close to 500!
@ slow and almost steady. Lol have a good weekend bud.
That's been my road as well. 🐢
Good evening Ross
Hi Gary
Good Evening Ross. I wouldn't roast you. Dress it out in the spring and it will be fine. Have a good weekend. ❄
Thank you very much Bob! Appreciate the support and the advice. Have a great weekend
Looks Great 👍 Nice thing about owning a tiller they are multipurpose I have used mine for many different things
Thanks Phil. Have a good weekend
Good evening, also, Ross. That is not a mess. It is a project to look after in the spring. I would till it again to get a finer soil and then plant grass seed. Place straw over it and it should turn out nice. It will look like a walkway. All the best from the other end of the Valley. PS: I got rained on this afternoon and then hit with hail. I survived though.
Ya that's a good idea. I will probably grass seed it and definitely straw helped on the trench project. It rained here but no hail. I need a few more days to get everything sorted for winter. Have a great weekend.
Good Evening Ross, This is Various Very Nice Views 🧐🧐👍👍You should run a carpet over it or back dragging with your front bucker 🧐👍Be Well Ross Cheers 🍻🍻
Thanks David. Ya maybe I should have to press it down a bit. Thanks, and have a good weekend
Hey Ross there is a crazy kid following you
LOL No kidding haha!
Oh I do enjoy a trail cam!!! The title was scary!!scary!!! 💙💙💙
I've added another camera around there to see what comes around
@@RossOnTheLand oh I will wait patiently to watch your reveal!!! 💙💙💙
@margaretmatthews511 thank you
Unfortunately I have many of those as well Good to get them down before someone gets hurt !
That looks ready to burn!!!😁👍🚜💨🔥
Yup very dead.
Fisher. I had one last year around hawkesbury area. I snowshoed out back in the forest and saw its tracks. I almost hit it heading to work early one morning on the 17.
That does seem to be a popular opinion. Thank you.
@@RossOnTheLand Yes. You being in Eastern Ontario is pretty much the same eco system. I even have moose in my area!
@HuckThis1971 ya just down the road. 1.5 hours. 👍
