      @@Annette_Hons how are you enjoying your MachE and the use of the Tesla charging network?

    • @Annette_Hons
      @Annette_Hons 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Coffee_Cars_and_Adventures I actually love it, no complaints. My plan was always to get the Mach E (Its my first EV) because I was trading in a Frod, Ford gave me better trade in value than Tesla,, then eventually move on to the Model X, so hopefully in the next year I’ll be making that purchase. I love the look of the yoke, just not sure if I should be bold and get it or just stick with the wheel. I have only used the Tesla network for charging twice and honestly that was just to test the adapter only, first time wasn’t good, it was an issue with the adapter, once Lectron replaced it, second try, no issues. I usually only charge at home, no real need yet to charge on the go. We don’t road trip much, and the one trip we took a few months back would have added 4-5 hours drive time because the charging infastructure along the easiest route was not conducive at all (Las Vegas to Reno), so we ended up taking my husbands truck for that trip. There were Tesla chargers along that route but they were incompatible with the adapter, so we’d need to take a much longer route to be able to access chargers. Its a 6 hour trip going the longer route would have added 4 hours drive time, plus charging. Just wasn’t worth it.

      @teslataxi4546 you talking about the falcon wing doors? Because the front doors are soft close doors. No need to slam the front doors. Noticed your handle is teslataxi. Not sure if that's how you use your car? Frankly if I had people climbing in and out of my backseat all day I probably wouldn't buy the X. The Falcon doors are complex and if there would be a failure point anywhere on the car, I suspect those doors will be it. They are likely fine with normal use.

    I appreciate these videos as they are a window into EV ownership. The primary advantage of an EV is the lack of tailpipe emissions. If you are lucky enough to live in an area with the required charging and cellular infrastructure an EV might be a great choice depending on your life situation. I can’t imagine owning an EV when I was working like a dog and raising children. I can imagine owning an EV now that I have fewer obligations and more discretionary time.

    All true if the ev owner lives in an affluent urban area with cell service and access to high speed charging. Where we live in rural Vermont, there is very limited cell service an not a single high speed charger for miles. I’ve located low speed chargers at a store or two but the chargers usually have a hillbilly truck parked in front of them blocking access or a snowplow has pushed a bank of snow up in front of the chargers because they figured nobody would need them. Sad but all true.

    Tesla Owners: About the blinkers. Just use your sense of touch. There is a line between right and left. Just feel for the line and move your thumb up to turn right and down from the line to turn left. You don't have to look for anything. Keep your eyes on the road and feel the line between left and right. One simple thumb movement instead of an entire arm movement to find the old stocks. Never stop learning new things or you will be stuck in life. You have less than 100 years left. Go to your Tesla, sit inside and relax. Close your eyes and place your thumb on that line. Get a feel for it and its' position. Then move your thumb up, that's the right signal. Slide your thumb back to the line. You feel it. Slide your thumb below the line, that's left. It's that simple.

The raised tactile feature between R&Lbuttons locates the proper button. I still do not like the stalkless Park/forward/reverse/Neutral shifter. I'm tall so my seat is all the way to the rear which means I have to lean forward to touch the screen. With the new 12.4.3 release the Drivers side door pops out when you get close and when you hit the interior oe exterior latch not pops put about 50%--much better. But still not as good as the older MXs. The visor works well for me --I find that as long as I don't latch the visor, I can move it up pr down to shade my eyes regardless of sun angle. I"M very pease with my purchase. I did not know about audio noice cancelling--thanks--learned something.

      @jbrock4849 the newest software release will auto shift forward and reverse for you. Just have to turn the feature on. I've found when I back out of the garage and prepare to go forward, if I tap the brake and turn the wheel slightly the slides into drive. Great feature!

    I have a Blue 2022 Model X that I love to pieces! There is only one feature that drives me crazy. When you walk by the driver's side door. The door will open even if you don't want it to. I've learned to take my key fob and phone out of my pocket when I am walking by the car and not getting inside.

      @@RichardGreggoryJohnson you can turn that feature off in the 2024 model. I guess not the same in 2022?

    My favorite feature of the 2024 Model X is one you didn’t mention. Autoshift out of Park into Forward OR Reverse. It knows which way you need/want to go. Of course you can override if it is not your desired intention.

      lol - what? You have to dish out another $450 to get something that’s been in cars for a hundred years? Tesla owners really are suckers.

      @@LF-du4uc I'm on my 3rd Tesla and loved everyone. What's great is every car is better as it gets older because of over the air software updates. I'd say many people who buy other legacy cars are the real suckers.
