Recap after 1 year of living in Montenegro
มุมมอง 2.7Kปีที่แล้ว
I live in this beautiful country for almost a year now and would like to share my impression of Montenegro with the world! We touch on landscape, people, taxes, cost of living, what to watch out for and other useful tips. I purposely also captured my negative points, because I'm sick and tired of con artists not covering the challenges and hiccups that come with living here. Overall though, as ...

      @@borispoehland you do, 17:34. TÜV= car registration, mechanic has to check your car and set up up new insurance for the year. That process in English here is called car registration.

    I'm an Australian who has lived in the UK for 20 years....but I've had enough. The wokeness is making me completely insane. I need to move to a more conservative, slower-paced country. Montenegro is on my list. I'd like to open a small shop catering to tourism. My concerns are as follows: 1. Medical services 2. Administrative bureaucracy and/or corruption 3. I only speak English....can I get by initially?

    • @fotoz2363
      @fotoz2363 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      1. Medical services are not of the best quality 2. bureaucracy is quite OK, corruption doesn't affect you from my experience 3. yeah, you can find some local lawyers who can help you set up your business, there is quite a lot of bureaucracy associated with it, but the costs are not high, it's very difficult to find work force tho

    Well done Boris. Montenegro can be a burden and heaven at the same time. My brother is moving there, working from home (IT work). Similar age like you so hopefully he enjoys it. Lack of wokeness is MNE's main attraction. Flexibility around laws, too.

    Im born and raised in Montenegro and have lived there for 17 years before moving to Germany. Been here for 3 years now and compared to Montenegro its night and day. Montenegro is extremely behind when it comes to modernization along with the culture. Standard of living compared to any western country is terrible, right now it is somewhat okay and im glad you have moved during that era and not before, mainly because the pay was one of the worst out of any european country with an average of 300e per month. People are undoubtedly better there but crime is pretty high depending on where you are situated. Politics we wont get into due to the fact that the country did not even have a functioning parliament for a few months lmao. Anyways point being, the country was in a really poor state compared to the west. Currently its significantly better but Montenegro still has a lot of years of catching up to do with the world.

    good info boris - what area are you living in? can you find 12 month lease for apts vs off season and high season? the electric bill seems crazy.... sure you weren't pay for someone else too?

    • @borispoehland
      @borispoehland ปีที่แล้ว

      Back then Bar, now Ulcinj. Electric bill was due to the house, where we‘re now we finally pay humane prices and have a base warmth. It‘s house dependent! You can generally find 12 month rent, you just need to find someone that doesn’t argue how much they could charge in summer. Then let them charge in summer and don’t move in, it‘s a trick. The best form is when you have a long term tenant and not constantly changing short term rentals, who doesn’t see that… let them. You searching?
