As a kid my RC airplane had a hand-held electric starter you placed against the prop and it spun it. Ok, now he has one.

Brilliant, great sounds !

Having been involved with large scale RC for a few decades, it still made me cringe to see how close Bills lovely knee was to that spinning prop... even when just powered by the electric starter. Also, by putting so much weight into pressing the starter onto the prop hub, if the starter jumps off the prop, Bills would have most of his body in that prop and engine. Happily, that didn't happen but I've seen the results of accidents in similar situations.

Gorgeous sound and performance. So smooth! (if you take your music books to a small local printing company, they can cut the binding off and then add a coil binding where all your books will lay perfectly flat on your music rest, no matter what page you're on).

I had a free flight Mercury with an OS10 glow sixty years ago aged ten. The large empty field that I used to fly it from is long gone. I'm going to build a Ben Buckle kit over the winter and fit 3ch radio and an SC12 glow motor. Many thanks for posting this amazing video. Larry UK.

Hey David, Beautiful model! Please be a life saver and tell me you still have the build instructions to this? I have just purchased a kit new in box and it has the plans but no instructions. I've asked Mantua Italy and they are looking but Mantua UK don't have them so I'm at a bit of a loss. It would be amazing if you still had these....

Seems unwise to stand in front unless the engine stand is tethered to the ground.

That’s a nice engine. But just for the record, a radial engine can be machined out of a single two inch thick steel plate. It would have (almost) square pistons. The plate would contain the crankshaft and combustion chambers, and the cylinder head would be one piece, on the side rather than the top.

I used to work on real radial engines. Machine valve guides for new sleeves etc. Great engines.
