Red Hot Chili Peppers - Unlimited Love - Album Review
Hi there, welcome to another Riot Act Reviews, where Steve and Remfry review a brand new album from the world of alternative music. Today we are looking at the 12th studio album from funk rock megastars Red Hot Chili Peppers, Unlimited Love.
This is the first album by the band since 2016’s The Getaway, and the first album to feature the band's iconic lead guitarist John Frusciante since his departure in 2009. It’s fair to say that the Chili’s haven’t really been at it for quite some time now. Whatever your cut off point on that period is, it’s fairly hard to defend at least the last decade. If you’re a glutton for punishment then maybe you let Frusciante’s return excite you enough to believe that this finally would be some kind of glorious return to form for the band. And if reviews outside of ours are to be believed then, well, maybe it is. Want to know what we think?... Come on, you probably already know what we think, but, you know, have a listen all the same eh?

I am a new Meshuggah listener and I find Immutable to be near perfection.
18:05 That's true! Black Chandelier is quite difficult.
What I wouldn't give to get that experience of hearing them for the very first time. If you can relate to the David Le'aupepe's lyricsm then it's even like an other worldly experience. Ever since I found out about them I have been obsessed with their music. Also, in my honest opinion I get a lot of younger U2 kinda vibes from their music.
What happened to this podcast??
Stephen Hill assaulted Remfry
@@goeatburnttoast Oh!
@goeatburnttoast I wanted to not believe that but I just saw the video.
Please stop
43:13 EPIC
29:08 sweet Moses on the ark
38:13 I love it, right there Remfry knows exactly where he's going with it lmao.
5:40
The Corabi album is good. Yes, it's indulgent and over-produced, but it sounds great and the songs mostly kick ass. Probably because all the best ones were written by Corabi. And you don't have Vince Neil honking and sqauwking over the whole thing.
The bad lyrics feel like part of package but Hugz is too far. Think its the best record since Meds.
On the Turn. Absolutely Amazing Album. Top 10 for sure. Own 2 copies of both Kerbdog Albums on Vinyl. Kerbdog should have ruled the World post Nirvana.
I don’t even think it’s this bad. Some enjoyable tunes. It’s just not a typical Mötley Crüe album. Far from being great though.
Real shame Steve and Remfry decided to stop working together. Used to really love this Podcast
It’s pronounced “die-ass-por-ah”! And it’s a reference to the African diaspora in particular but overall diasporas are a variety of cultural groups that share an ethnic or cultural history even though they are spread across the globe! With that context the lyrics are even more interesting!
The best is yet to come. This was funny though.
I think Tallulah is there worst album and is now sandwiched between 2 great albums. The first 5 tracks of Tallulah are just not great
You spent 100 bucks on their worst album lol. Enough said. How about some information as to why they are bad? You can scream that they suck, but you can't articulate it at all. I'm guessing bald Tyson Fury guy was dumped by a girl who loves RHCP. I have no other way to explain the rage.
I give this album on the scale from 1 to 10 7.4
The bald guy is just a complete wanker lol
I listened to this album in the gym and holy shit, forget about pre-workout
hey! could you get the audio version of it on audea? i listen to most of my audio there would love to hear this on there
Great conversation guys. This is their best in some time. Possibly since their first 3 albums just without a big Pure Morning/Nancy Boy single. Loved the production. If Depeche Mode and The Cure had a lovechild this album would be it. Also has those classic Molko melancholy guitar notes like their early stuff on songs like album closer Fix Yourself.
I'm (was?) a big Placebo fan but Battle for the Sun is where I disconnected from them. There were 3 great songs in Loud Like Love for me (the rest was crappy). So with that being said, I'm still listening to Never Let me Go but I can already say it's better than their last 2 (for me). I do have this weird feeling tho, like a bit of happiness with the very familiar/placebo sound, but also sad that so many moments in the album sound a lot like previous songs
I got in to Gang of Youths with go farther in lightness. the best lyric in any song ever "see the girl over there with the long range rifle, the one with the crew cut, she reminds me of a version of you". i never thought the new album could compete. It is so good, really it is so good.
Are you serious?
I was at that comeback gig in 2006, one of the best gigs I've ever been to, legendary band
these guys probably hated stadium arcadium too which reminds me a lot of this album. Last time I checked stadium arcadium peaked at number one on every major chart position. RHCP has had 1 other album that peaked at number one on every major chart. that is unlimited love. 🥱
If you have to ask, you'll never know.
Whatchu thinkin is a baddass song
I paid $57 for the limited Edition Silver pressing of this tripe, and then blew a NOS Cassette Tape recording it. So I pissed $70 out the window on this record with a rabid dog barking for over an hour on it and music so slow and boring I challenge anyone not to fall asleep by side C. The record will keep playing the run-out groove for hours as you are in a coma in your chair from the mind numbing shit pile this record is. Perfect review guys!
I make you right mate they are shit. . No excuse. They play music for a living don't go to work like us. And they can't even do their fking job...lol Bring Navarro back. Get some kind of edge back.
Bruh…
Maybe you should actually take sometime to think about the lyrics with regards to the pandemic and fires in us before making a tripe video with no substance in anything your'e saying. You guys clearly don't have a musical bone in your body. Yes it is true AK said he used the words that came to him whilst listening to the songs in his car and he said he didn't have time to meticulous craft the words which in my opinion makes them have more resonance as its a more instinctual and emotive rather clever wordplay which some songs have anyway. Your "review" if you can call has no validity.
You guys are soo Lost😂
Album is great…most of the bands these guys like are prolly in the dust bins of history….the fact that these guys are nearly senior citizens making this quality stuff…Yeah it’s not perfect, maybe 5 tracks too long…But the album is amazing! I haven’t heard this great a rock album from a major artist in YEARS…y’all sound like a bunch of nobody’s who haven’t accomplished anything in life just hating …..your opinions suck and so does your TH-cam videos….Jus quit life bro
This album catch spirit of this chaotic - idiotic times . No lot of great bands anymore ...avenue is free for any A.K lyrics ...Rock music is fall down in last decade ...if you want poetry read Pablo Neruda , Walt Whitman , Tom Waits , Nick Cave , Bob Dylan , Emily Dickinson , Charles Bukowski ( i joke ) . Lyrics are never be strong side of this band . From day one .
Let's be real, the last time "the main one" got to headline a rhcp album track, we ended up with pea so, jesus, what do we do. Also, for 2 months XFM has been spaffing over Black Summer with the same script every time they play it and IT'S SO BORING. WHO IS EXCITED ABOUT SOMETHING. SO. BORING.
Also I love the little edits on the video version after listening on Spotify x
I actually enjoy the album, but this review is hilarious 😂
Great chemistry from you two!
Lmao @ all these butthurt RHCP fans mad at a pair of internet reviewers.
Brutal but that was funny as fuck lads
Let's see Anthony K has a net worth of a 155m and this bloat who is doing a podcast in his parents basement and had what 1k subscribers wants to call him horrible 🤣.
Because, of course, someone’s worth is measured in their wealth. You must be a lovely person.
The old cliche "they only sing about California " speaks volumes. You have no idea.
anthony keidis' lyrics are uninspired. stretch that for 40 minutes.. great review mate. now please give me my 40 minutes back. 🙏
"It's a red hot chili peppers album in 2022, obviously is terrible". What kind of logic is that? You had an opinion even before listening to it. Go away.
Why review and slate a band you obviously dislike and haven't got a pissing clue about. Atleast one of these absolute bell ends can pronounce John's surname correctly.
yeah. I gave it a try, gave up after about 2.5 songs and went back to BSSM.
What a absolutely BS review bahahaha couple of wankers daring to critique greatness! Wow. POQ
it seems like the bald man just hates the band for other reasons other than the music. it’s an album that needs a couple listens to and it has its gems on it
I agree, r h c p are to music what Disney is to Star Wars
This album is incredible. I’m sorry you guys ears dont work properly.
I'm with you man. It's a clinic on musical chemistry from some of the greatest artists of our time. Dream Canteen is throwing some heavy Blood Sugar vibes... Can't wait, it's almost out.
It’s just a bad album
