    1. Marriage...2. Courtship...3. Dating - our personal lives must be arranged in that order before the LORD. I get asked often about being a widower at 40 years old, having now spent the past few years alone. The answer is quite simple, I will only consider a relationship if I know for sure before ever "dating" a woman that I would be capable of being her husband and she my wife. Hence why I am single and have not dated. I appreciate the rise in people (Brothers & Sisters in Christ equally) being willing to place purity and morality at the premium position. Abide in the LORD, loneliness doesn't exist.

    Wow! There are elements here that are similar to Hinduism..." The Christian themes of finding one’s true identity in Christ, detaching from worldly roles and material possessions, and undergoing spiritual transformation resonate with key concepts in Hinduism. For example, the idea of placing identity in Christ as a solid foundation parallels the Hindu notion of realizing the Atman (the true self) as the eternal, unchanging reality beyond the temporary roles of the world. Both traditions also emphasize detachment from fleeting material attachments-whether it's worldly success or social media in Christianity, or maya (illusion) in Hinduism-and the importance of surrendering to God for true liberation. These shared themes highlight a deeper, universal quest for transcending the ego and finding fulfillment in the divine.

    I love that you ladies used scripture from the book of Matthew on this topic because I was just reading Matthew Chapter 10 this morning 😄🙏🏽. It clearly showed how Jesus has all bases covered when it comes to our identity. The more we things and people of the world; the more our true identity gets lost. It may seem like we are losing everything when following Jesus but what he has for us will make us feel whole compared to when we are only seeking worldly desires. Thanks for bringing us another great podcast episode. Keep pushing forward and may God bless you in the week ahead ✨

    "Godly dating" is quite the interesting concept. In the historic cultural context of the Ancient Near East, women were often treated as property, subject to the authority of men, typically their fathers or husbands. Marriage was not a personal contract between husband and wife but rather an agreement between a man and the woman's father, often involving an exchange of goods or services. Biblical law often reinforced social hierarchies, with control over property, family, and inheritance tightly linked to patriarchal structures. Women were generally positioned in a subordinate and dependent role within these systems. However, there are notable exceptions, such as the stories of Deborah, Ruth, and Esther, who acted in ways that subverted or transcended these norms. These instances, while significant, were exceptions rather than the rule. (Interestingly, the stories of Ruth and Esther contain very little direct Divine intervention or explicit references to God, relying instead on human decisions and actions to drive the narrative.) It is worth noting that when contemporary Christians refer to a "Biblical view of marriage," it is often a modern interpretation rather than a reflection of the historical reality of marriage practices in biblical times, which differ significantly from current ideals. Would think the concept of "Godly dating" needs robust theological continuity with the genuine past, not just its liberal reinterpretation.

      @@Kenoticrunner you are referencing “biblical history,” but you claimed in our other video that this approach of “believing” something to be true because others believed it is wrong. How do you know that’s what the history of marriage was like in the Bible if you claim the Bible isn’t true? What are you basing those claims off of?

    • @Kenoticrunner
      @Kenoticrunner 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@WhenWeAbide Great question. The books of the Bible aren't the only contemporaneous accounts of Ancient Near Eastern culture. And "true vs not true" is an over simplified characterization. The question of historians would be "what are Ancient Near Eastern concepts of marriage based upon the written evidence we have?" We have some good information, in fact, multiple fairly independent corraborating sources. What would I be basing beliefs upon? Consistent with historical inquiry, the artifacts we have. These artifacts consistently point to women as unfortunately property in the time and place in which these books of the Bible were authored. A "Biblical" or "Godly" view of marriage would encompass such, despite being unlike often popularly framed in contemporary Evangelicalism. And it's not that believing something because others believed it is categorically wrong. Historians use a robust framework that includes reliance on multiple independent attestations, unmotivated or disinterested witnesses, corroborating evidence, proximity to events, and contextual coherence. Even then, conclusions must be modest, as we simply can't go back to the past. That said, even with these limits, a historically-based Judeo-Christian view of marriage must grapple with the notion that it was normative for God's people to more or less own women as property and that God at that time to be portrayed as rather just fine with it. I hope this helps answer how we know what marriage was like in the Ancient Near East including among the Israelite people. Feel free to explore the often cited "Social World of Ancient Israel: 1250-587 BCE" by Victor H. Matthews and Don C. Benjamin. They discuss the status of women in Israelite society, particularly in relation to marriage, within a broader social and economic context. The authors argue that women in ancient Israelite society were often viewed as property in marriage, but this was part of a broader social and legal system where family and economic considerations were paramount. Their role as chattel was intertwined with their economic and reproductive functions, but this did not entirely negate their personal agency or social importance.

    The approach of "a religious claim is true because people have believed it" lacks a clear or consistent method for determining who qualifies as a god. Instead, it leads to accepting all deity claims as equally valid, without providing a way to reach consensus on evaluating the wide variety of beliefs. Rather than being entirely convincing, your presentation highlights why there has been, and continues to be, such diversity in beliefs about deities. It effectively explains why some believe Jesus is God, while others do not. You make the case for what you don't intend.

    Please allow me to share these verses of the Quran in which God describes Himself. Be blessed. For clarification, Allah is the Arabic name of the one and only god, the Creator. It is also the name of God in Aramaic, the language of Jesus pbuh, and it is with this name that Jesus addressed God. Quran (2:255) “Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the All-Sustaining. Neither slumber overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what is behind them; while they grasp nothing of His knowledge, except what He wills. His Kursiyy (Chair) encompasses the Heavens and the Earth, and their preservation does not tire Him. He is the All-High, the Supreme. (2:256) Let there be no compulsion in religion, for the truth stands out clearly from falsehood, so whoever renounces false gods and believes in Allah has certainly grasped the firmest, unfailing handhold. And Allah is The All-Hearing, All-Knowing”. (2:257) Allah is the Ultimate Guardian of those who have attained faith; He brings them out of the darkness(es) into the light, while those who have denied-their guardians are the false masters; they bring them out of the light into the darkness(es) . Those are the fellows of the Fire; therein they abide. Chapter 112 of the Quran In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful. Say: “He is Allah, the One and Only; Allah the Besought by all, needing none. He begot no one nor was He begotten, and never has there been to Him anyone equivalent.” Quran (42:11) “[He is] Creator of the heavens and the earth. He has made for you from yourselves, mates, and among the cattle, mates; He multiplies you thereby. There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing.” Quran (2:186) “And when My servants ask you, concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided. Chapter 19 (Mary) 88-98 88 And they say, "The Most Merciful has begotten a son." 89 You have certainly made an outrageous claim, 90 The heavens almost rupture therefrom and the earth split open and the mountains collapse in devastation 91 That they attribute to the Most Merciful a son. 92 And it is not appropriate for the Most Merciful to beget a son. 93 Everyone who is in the Heavens and the Earth will come to The All-Merciful as a servant; 94 He has enumerated them and counted them precisely. 95 Each of them is coming to Him on Resurrection Day individually. 96 As for those who believe and do good, the Most Compassionate will ˹certainly˺ bless them with ˹genuine˺ love. 97 So indeed, We have made it (the Quran) easy in your tongue, that you may give glad tidings to the ones who were mindful (of God) and warn with it a hostile people. 98 And how many a generation have We annihilated before them? Can you feel a single one of them or hear from them the slightest whisper? And Quran (17:110-111) “Say, "Call upon Allah or call upon the Most Merciful [ar-Raḥmān]. Whichever [name] you call - to Him belong the best names." And do not recite [too] loudly in your prayer or [too] quietly but seek between that an [intermediate] way. And say, "Praise to Allah, who has not taken a son and has had no partner in [His] dominion and has no [need of a] protector out of weakness; and glorify Him with [great] glorification."

    I just realized I said Psalm 23! I meant Psalm 22. Here it is! “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me? Why are You so far from helping Me, And from the words of My groaning? O My God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not hear; And in the night season, and am not silent. But You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel. Our fathers trusted in You; They trusted, and You delivered them. They cried to You, and were delivered; They trusted in You, and were not ashamed. But I am a worm, and no man; A reproach of men, and despised by the people. All those who see Me ridicule Me; They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying, “He trusted in the Lord, let Him rescue Him; Let Him deliver Him, since He delights in Him!” But You are He who took Me out of the womb; You made Me trust while on My mother’s breasts. I was cast upon You from birth. From My mother’s womb You have been My God. Be not far from Me, For trouble is near; For there is none to help. Many bulls have surrounded Me; Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled Me. They gape at Me with their mouths, Like a raging and roaring lion. I am poured out like water, And all My bones are out of joint; My heart is like wax; It has melted within Me. My strength is dried up like a potsherd, And My tongue clings to My jaws; You have brought Me to the dust of death. For dogs have surrounded Me; The congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me. They pierced My hands and My feet; I can count all My bones. They look and stare at Me. They divide My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots. But You, O Lord, do not be far from Me; O My Strength, hasten to help Me! Deliver Me from the sword, My precious life from the power of the dog. Save Me from the lion’s mouth And from the horns of the wild oxen! You have answered Me. I will declare Your name to My brethren; In the midst of the assembly I will praise You. You who fear the Lord, praise Him! All you descendants of Jacob, glorify Him, And fear Him, all you offspring of Israel! For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; Nor has He hidden His face from Him; But when He cried to Him, He heard. My praise shall be of You in the great assembly; I will pay My vows before those who fear Him. The poor shall eat and be satisfied; Those who seek Him will praise the Lord. Let your heart live forever! All the ends of the world Shall remember and turn to the Lord, And all the families of the nations Shall worship before You. For the kingdom is the Lord’s, And He rules over the nations. All the prosperous of the earth Shall eat and worship; All those who go down to the dust Shall bow before Him, Even he who cannot keep himself alive. A posterity shall serve Him. It will be recounted of the Lord to the next generation, They will come and declare His righteousness to a people who will be born, That He has done this.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭22‬:‭1‬-‭31‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

It's so cool that we are all children of the greatest father God 😊🙏🏽✨ Those Matthew verses you shared perfectly described how we can better apply his teachings of faith. Looking at the work of Jesus is the best example for sure. Thanks for making time to create this episode ladies. Wishing you a blessed October.

    • @WhenWeAbide
      @WhenWeAbide 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@chewbrocka6833 people use the phrases: “as people of color,” “as women,” “as men,” “as the new generation,” “as Muslims,” “as politicians,” so on and so forth… does that also play people who don’t fall into those categories? “As Christians” because not everyone in the world is Christian…that’s not divisive, it’s factual. And that applies to all things. One doesn’t require a deep thinking brain to grasp that concept

    • @chewbrocka6833
      @chewbrocka6833 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@WhenWeAbide they are divisive terms. I don't call out Muslims because yes, they might blow me up. They are also just made up beliefs. But these labels put a hierarchy in your brain. For example, in your head if someone is an atheist you probably label those people as "the people who don't know or yet to come to Christ" or "people who will go to hell" these are all word games when in reality religion is a much more easier path than understanding the scientific, molecule aspect. The understanding we make up these labels from an evolution standpoint. Then if you really care about people and smart the goal is to be a scientist or some other educated profession that manipulates reality that helps physical beings in a physical way. All cells. You are putting value to the word Christian because the subset comes with beliefs. You probably think atheists means game over. Life is hard for everybody, but understanding truths like pessimistic truths can be overcome. But they first have to be accepted then the next step if you are an empathetic person is to figure out how to buffer pessimistic truths into something not as much. You are choosing Christianity as a solution, your intention to be good is good. But the real world doesn't function on those solutions, we know by common sense that a form of a scientific method helps us achieve real goals. The biggest thing you can do with your labels is to accept there is no good or evil. It becomes a different type of thinking instead of hierarchy thinking. Which was more useful during our primate jungle days.

    • @WhenWeAbide
      @WhenWeAbide 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@chewbrocka6833 This is a method to unnecessarily complicate the simple truth that words have meaning. It doesn’t create a hierarchy in our brain to use words. A word describes or gives meaning to something. “Christians” define people who follow Christ. “Atheists” define people who don’t believe in a God. Creating a hierarchy in your brain about these groups is irrelevant to the meaning of the words and is up to each individual being and their perspective. You can define something in this life without creating a hierarchy in your brain about it. People need to stop trying to twist language & words to fit their narratives. Words have meanings and are necessary for describing things. It doesn’t need to be complicated and turned into some psychological issue. This is what the alphabet community does. Language is language. Words are words. It doesn’t need to be altered to fit some complicated explanation. But we can agree to disagree.

    All these types of channels are sus a.f. Apparently mid to ugly looking people cannot exist on youtube. Only hot ones. And in reality, that is just not the case. It is far more rare to see hot people than mid to ugly looking ones. Satan is really working over time here to twist peoples perceptions of reality. And i am no fool. I see through it all. And hot people will never be caught dead with someone else not on their level. Case in point with this channel. Girls gone bible. And many others. Bunch of superficial people that need to be called out. You may not like what i am saying, but it is only the truth.

      Okay, "babe"...when we say there was more respect for opposing views, we're talking about times such as the 90's and early 2000's when America had a lot less haste and disgust for each other because of political views. There has never been full peace in this world, but we are slowly regressing towards those times you are referring to, where if anyone has an opposing view, they are completely "cancelled." After 2016, this got a lot worse in this country and people became more divided AGAIN. Relax, please, and have some respect. You are quite literally contributing to this very issue by the way you are speaking to us because you don't agree with our views lol. Ironic.

    "People are fighting for the title of victim" and the main character syndrome. That was so powerful yet true 💥. Ladies thank you for being confident enough to speak on this topic. The only main character in life is Jesus. I think a lot of people choose to be a victim nowadays too. If it's not something Jesus would do; it shouldn't be done. I don't mind people who have different views from me as long as they respect my views too. I do think Christianity is the most disrespected thing in our world. I pray that with podcasts and voices like yours; this world can change for the better. Keep going and i look forward to more episodes. Be blessed!

    I really love how knowledgeable you ladies are with the word 😊🙏🏽✨. I think this episode about Godly Friendships is very needed. Ironically enough, i just started reading the book of John Monday. We should love our friends as Jesus loved his disciples; while correcting them when needed but not in a overly harsh way. I try everyday to be that. I think great communication, showing accountability and understanding is super important to maintaining a Godly friendship. I hope to have friendships that reflect that. I wish you both blessed days ahead.
