Eafengrow EF - 143 Fixed Blade Knife
The Eafengrow EF - 143 is an outstanding camp or survival blade you can rely on! The over 6 inch blade has enough length to split decent sized wood, while having a big enough handle to hold on to. The burlap micarta handle scales are grippy but smooth, the handle has been nicely contoured to prevent hotspots and maximize comfort. A kydex sheath is also included with a Dots style belt clip, this knife is just beautiful but don't treat it as a safe queen get out there and beat on it!

I’m pretty hard on my equipment. Do you worry about denting the Ti cup, therefore rendering the whole system unusable? Seems like the plastic with the Pathfinder cup would be much more durable. Thanks!!!
@markashlock9017 Granted, I haven't tested that lol but it seems pretty durable to me, I would imagine the original with the stainless steel cup would be more impact resistant however. Plastic can be more forgiving than titanium of course so it could bend instead of break kinda thing, I definitely wouldn't call the titanium cup flimsy though and it would probably stand up to a good beating honestly. Hey ill hit up Grayl and just see if they would send one out for testing and we can find out lol, I won't hold my breath on that though 🤣.
👍🏻
Super nice knife!
Great job showing the new grayl off. I had no idea on size and weight until you commented on my vid. I gave you a sub 👍
Weight is a number. Some people can carry a heavy pack and some can't carry very much. In a real bug out situation there will not be judges disqualifying people because their bags are over 10 #. Carry as much as you can as it is your life that depends on it.
You got that right and none of us know exactly what will happen and when. Thanks for watching!
You did an outstanding review
Hello!! Im wondering if you made a bag for that folding stove that Iridium (RIP) had demoed? I havnt bought it yet but im thinking about it and how much.
Unfortunately we did not get to make that happen in time 😞, he was a great dude and it really saddens me he's gone and so suddenly too. However if you were interested in a bag like that we could make it happen, I would just need measurements for the stove etc. My contact information is in my description box so we can work out the details, I can say it won't be super expensive while still being hand made with 100% American made parts and materials on American made machinery. Thank you for tracking me down and inquiring about a bag, I look forward to your patronage!
Why not use two prusik loops and a toggle on the second Tree ? So one loop "is the end of the rope" and hence only a toggle is needed to lock the Loops together...
This might be a silly question but is the outer cup the only portion that’s titanium?
It's not a silly question and sorry I didn't show that well enough but the inner sleeve that the filter attaches to is also titanium, so the only plastic is the filter itself and the lid, besides a small line of plastic at the top on the outside of the inner cup that separates the inner and outter cups. Hopefully this made it a little more clear and if you have further questions don't hesitate to ask! Thanks for watching!
The more you know, the less you have to carry. HOGWASH, no he didn’t. He could’ve have said, Jesus isn’t the SON of God and I would’ve forgiven him but HOGWASH. Oooh hell 2 da naw naw.
Why oh why would you use a different lid ... probably to save on plastic. The real question is how would a normal person notice such a thing as clearly you don't need another grayl
It’s awesome!!!! Great budget blade!
Buck knives never came sharp from factory they sell dull knives you need to sharpen years ago
I wouldn't doubt that lol
I love this knife so much I bought four of them back when they were on sale.
It's a great knife for sure and that sale price was hard to beat really lol
Looks like a WTG
I’m sure that the reason that the lids don’t fit is because the walls of the titanium are thinner, so they fit the same filter size which is the part that’s going to be replaced. Just my guess.
I agree but it seems silly to me lol, however I'm sure they have their reasons
I have the bell clicked for notifications but I’m not getting any notifications lately from your channel
I'm not really surprised by that lol chances are yt doesn't like me 🤣, people claim if you unsubscribe then resubscribe and hit the bell they have better results 🤷
@@alphaomegasurvivalsupply6548 lol I’ll try that
Definitely "inspired" by the lionsteel m7 i think . Sweet blade though .
Thank you and that's what I thought at first too, but then it came to me...look up the Work Tuff Gear Wolverine lol.
They've copied a few WTG designs now, only these are more affordable and MUCH easier to buy. It's a really good lookin knife
@jimbusmaximus4624 usually I'm against companies doing that but I don't think it's a perfect 1 to 1 copy and I don't have a wolverine to compare it to directly, many of these "name brand" companies are just charging WAY to much cuz I know what materials cost. For example a 6 inch bladed knife in magnacut could go between $250 - $350 depending, what they don't mention is that's less than $10 in steel and probably less with volume purchasing. So when people say it's more expensive because of the materials...its a flat out lie and materials are not the deciding factor on price lol, don't get me wrong people should make money but not 4 or 5 times what it should cost and more in some cases. Smh this country is in big, big trouble.....
@@alphaomegasurvivalsupply6548 I agree. I don't mind a company making a product that's similar to any of the high-end knives that sell out in minutes. It gives people who work for a living a chance to own one. I do miss the days of being able to buy a decent quality USA made knife for less than 50 bucks. Those days are long gone.
@alphaomegasurvivalsupply6548 I checked it out and yes it's definitely a clone of the work tuff , the blade is almost identical .
Goddamn! There is NOTHING sexier than burlap micarta.
Seems like the edge held up good. No chips or rolls.
awesome you should work for Consumer Reports !!!
Good to see you having fun with a new blade.
Good review of this knife how your knife making going
Nice review. Both are definitely good options for your kit.
No doubt! I really like the mini bushpot though lol.
Got the Pathfinder set I'm happy with it good to see a post
I've been happy with the pathfinder sets I have too I just really liked the cup design on this one, thanks for watching!
Lt. Wright sure makes some great knives. The fat wood sparked up instantly. Thanks for sharing brother
My luck, my string would burn and I'd drop my bottle in the fire. LoL!
I thought the same thing 🤣 paracord would probably make it ok or if not kevlar cord definitely would and really that would be the best to use. Good to hear from you! I hope all is well!
Nice stuff.
Got mine about 2 weeks ago with the lid. Ouch!, but yeah it's nice. Lid fits nice and snug, I just wish there was a convenient way to Stow the lid on the complete geopress. Haven't cooked, or even boiled in the cup yet but looking forward to it!
I was thinking the same thing about the lid there is nowhere to store it if you're not using a carrier or pouch, I don't know if I'll end up getting the lid or not cuz it'd be $25 for it plus shipping and aluminum foil would work just fine. 🤷 I also didn't pay full price for it, I found a great deal on it lol. Thanks for watching!
@@alphaomegasurvivalsupply6548 got a coupon code for 10% off so I figured that would cover the difference lol. Definitely would like to devise some sort of pouch with extra pockets
that's some serious vocal fry you got going on
What is that lol
This knife is a Fake Buck or a "F--k"
Well, if both are made in China (likely), I'd go with the HF.
The buck is made here in the USA I'm pretty certain lol
Not sure bout the 119 but a lot of buck knives are made in China now. My main issue with that is don’t sell me China made stuff and charge me American made prices lol
@justinlloyd9342 I can understand that lol but I think the 119 is still made here though it wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't 🤣
@@justinlloyd9342 MOST Buck knives are USA made. While they do have some imported stuff... the majority, including the 119... are made in USA. If you had paid attention during the video "USA" is clearly visible on the blade.
Did you leave it in a window sill or something? 🤣
I assume you're reffering to the blems, they were there when I purchased it but I got a good deal on it because of that. What do you have?
I would swap the buck into the leather sheathe and call it the best of both worlds.
It's funny you say that cuz I thought the same thing 🤣, the Gordon sheath is way better than the buck nylon sheath for sure lol.
Good to see you make a vid bro. Looks like a great bottle. I always considered buying a GeoPress, but had no idea they did one nTI
Thanks lol they made the ultrapress in Ti but its only 16.9 oz and I wanted the 24 oz lol, it is an awesome piece tho and should last someone a lifetime.
To be honest I think the basic box is worth is as well as the most expensive but the middle is not for the basic being 35 bucks or so isn’t bad for the gear I have received that I didn’t have to drive to get it came to me without having to do anything I have used all gear I have gotten or gifted to my bros.
I can understand that
Mine is still on pre-order or backordered even though I ordered it on launch day for pre-order and I'm dying to get my
I bet so, did you get the one with the lid I assume? It looked like the non lid version started shipping but I dunno cuz there isn't really any other videos on it 🤷, you will be very happy with it I'm sure it's nice and I'm very thankful to have came across it when I did lol.
I really hate to say this, because I was born in El Salvador, and that's where Condor makes their knives, but the Moonshiner ain't got jack on the BK9. I had a Hudson Bay knife, and I just didn't like it at all, dulled fairly quickly. didn't buy another Condor ever since. Stuck with the Beckers and I still carry my BK9 to this very day.
The BK9 is just hard to beat period and is an icon on its own lol but condors newer stuff looks better but we'll see, ive heard many say their machetes are good and I love their bushcraft parang.
@@alphaomegasurvivalsupply6548 Maybe the Condor I got had a heat treat issue or something because I really wanted Condor to be a spectacular knife but as it stands, The BK9 is king!
@RiceVillatoro no doubt about that but give em another chance lol, that relatively new terrachete looks pretty good and they do have a good warranty from what I've heard. Check out the new designs they have several that look really good and a good sheath in most cases, the nylon sheaths aren't that great but I think they've mostly moved away from those.
They do sometimes have a few duds but they have always been especially known for their machetes and big choppers. I've noticed that are many people online that won't use or buy anything else. I got a Hudson Bay recently and am very impressed with it. The grind on it is fantastic and does whatever I need it to. Some would prefer a knife this size would dull or roll than snap when chopping.
I have said for the longest time that battle box is not worth it.
You have been correct for the longest time 🤣 👍
Cool. If anyone has a link to a site or video for properly tying the paracord for use to lowering the Grayl to water (at a distance), would be much appreciated. Great summary video and good to know the tops are not interchangeable.
Thank you and sorry it's just the Grayl website
Where did you find this?
It came from optics planet, last I knew they had some decent sales and some youtubers have codes for them too 👍
why is blem in the zone 2 :s. LOOKS SOOO CRISPY THOUGH. Love it
Not sure how it got there but I got a discount because of it lol, thank you
@@alphaomegasurvivalsupply6548 worth it, I have some binos with similar tubes, my left tube has a similar size spot a little bit further out, im right eye dominant and I don't even notice it at all anymore
A titanium model actually interests me
It's nice I'm not gunna lie lol but don't let the regular geopress with the pathfinder stainless steel cup with it fool you, if you got the grayl cheap on ebay 😉 then got the cup from pathfinder not from ebay it's still alot cheaper than the titanium lol.
@@alphaomegasurvivalsupply6548 I’m more of a sawyer mini and pop bottle guy with a 64oz Kleen canteen as a backup for boiling water I should try a grayl it’s just one of those items that doesn’t say austere environment but I could be wrong
Awesome to see you back in action my friend! Looks like a nice setup.
It's solid but it would be awesome if Grayl made a stainless version cheaper than the titanium lol, im not 100% just yet but things are getting better and I couldn't help but do a video on this. 🤣
Welcome back. Hope all is well. Thanks for the first look
Things are getting better thankfully, thanks for watching I appreciate it!
Bla bla bla aah........
This might be the stupidest video I’ve ever seen. Why didn’t you dull it and sharpen it you know kinda like you would do on a knife for a review
Perhaps a repair kit
Absolutely a must!
